We were on a road trip and just driving through the town we saw this little gem and decided to give it a try. I sat down and immediately asked if the coffee was fresh because I drink it black and if not I would wait for a fresh cup. The very nice young woman wasn't sure about the coffee and when she brought it to the table it was very good but I never was asked if I wanted a refill throughout my meal. When I asked our waiter he said there was no more? Anyway, my travel mate had cheese enchiladas and I asked for a chalupa without the meat and add avocado instead. We both enjoyed our food and thought we'd made a great choice for dining in this cute small town. If you're ever here, I recommend the Mexican food, no hesitation.

This spot has the potential to be something great. The atmosphere is gorgeous with stained glass and beautiful light fixtures. However, the food is just okay. I had the Tour of Italy and it lacked much flavor. The bread was really good, though. The main thing that was less than ideal was the staff. While friendly, I felt like we were being rushed out. We dined at 7:30 (closing time is 9) and the gentleman working shut off the open sign while we were seated and was a bit pushy. This made us feel like we were an obstacle between him and the end of his shift, and took away from the enjoyment of dining there. Also, my husband told me there are naked paintings of women in the bathroom, so keep that in mind

I would have given n'ther star if that was possible. It was perfect weather, perfect day, and we jus were luck to stumble upon the perfect restaurant. The big chandeliers remind of a classy old time. Ambience is good enough for you to choose as a location to propose ( ..... if only they have cakes to hide the ring in ) The food was simply mouthwatering yumm. They had fried okra , never had I tasted this, and glad we did. They gave us plenty options to make food vegetarian which was really nice. And their salads were jus so difficult to choose from. I finally picked the spinach range salad, again something new and delicious. I had to pack the salad and eat later at home because they brought out so much vegetarian options which were not just interesting but new. In the dessert department, they lacked variety, maybe because it was a off day ( v went on a Monday) ......well, it did not matter to me because I had no more place for dessert. They have displayed certificates of awards and the food sure justified that. LOVEDD it . ( PS: Men- don't forget to visit the restrooms ! )

Meatloaf was great. The service was good and the ambiance was very old town yet fancy.

Wouldn't recommend going here. Very bad food and poor service. Try any other place in town.

Every server was rude. The fajita meat tasted rotten. Would go anywhere else in town but here.

Pure Soul on a Plate…read more This is real soul food done right. Every plate that hit the table looked like it came straight out of someone's Sunday kitchen--and tasted even better. The golden fried fish was perfectly seasoned with that crispy, cornmeal crunch on the outside and juicy, tender meat on the inside. No grease, no shortcuts--just flawless frying. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and unapologetically cheesy, with a homemade texture that lets you know this wasn't scooped from a box. The candied yams were soft, sweet, and spiced just right, with that deep, slow-cooked flavor you can only get from patience and tradition. And the collard greens & cabbage blend? Absolutely phenomenal. Cooked down beautifully, full of flavor, and balanced--savory, comforting, and satisfying without being heavy. Even the hushpuppies were standout: crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned all the way through. Beyond the food, you can feel the history and love behind every dish. This is the kind of place where recipes matter, portions are generous, and the goal is to feed your soul--not just your stomach. If you're looking for authentic Southern soul food that tastes like it was made with care and legacy, this spot is a must-visit. I'll absolutely be back.
