Sunday 12/14/25 went in the store was full of customers. When checking out Alexa must hate her job or be having a bad. I witnesed Alexa getting frustrated with a dad and his daughter over one iteam. when she rudely said can u stop talking to me because she was getting distracted over one item. Then a customer got behind us and she rudely said there is more open lines. Clearly not wanting to help customers. She slammed all of our items and gave us a dirty look. It's part of your job . I like going to this location because for some reason I feel like they have more selections on certain things like the party section specifically. They had tons of things you need for a party and a good variety too. They also had a small section for food which I know people will hesitate getting because of the quality. It looked decent to me but I can't really rate it since I didn't need anything from that section. I love coming here for the food area because it's so cheap and the quality isn't bad, they have a lot of seasonings and canned goods if that's what you are looking for. Also I love the section where you can get food storage or containers where you need to bake something. They have a good amount of kitchen tools but I would try to get simple things there cuz the quality can be a little too cheap on certain tools. read more

This is my go to $ .99 store. I've been visiting this store more frequently this past year. My gfren told mee that you'll find pretty cool & amazing stuff here especially for school crafts. Along w candy, cool Asian snacks (surprisingly) & dry food. I actually love the produce area when i just need the basic vegetables like cherry tomatoes, limes, potatoes for school project and many more vegetables you'd never think to find here. The prices are great value too. The dairy/fridge has some good finds too. You'll just have to check the expiration date. Good deal on Philadelphia cream cheese. Just has to look an expiration date. It might expire in a week or so. The party items along w seasonal, have a lot of selections. Lots of parking available. Located next to CVS. Associate are friendly here unless you catch them on a crazy busy day. They can sometime be unhappy looking. They sell Ice here too. I was at the 99 Cents Only store this evening and I was looking for birthday cards for my nephews and I found the cards. The 99 Cents Only store is a good place to get any kind of cards from birthday cards and all seasonal types of cards I also met a nice young lady who also struck my interest. She was wearing a turquoise/green blouse with black pants she had light brown hair tucked into a ponytail and had pretty smile and really friendly. This is my fave .99 in the area. Cleaner, brimming with fresh food and lots of other necessary household items, even fresh plants and flowers. This is my go-to once a week for fresh fruits and vegetables. They also have a bargain bin with veggies that should be consumed with a day or two for those on a tight budget. My last haul included a two lb bag of apples for $1.99, three huge yellow squash, a bag of red onions for .99c, lots of perfect bananas, a large carton of fresh blueberries for pancakes, three diff types of mushrooms, fresh parsley, cilantro and green onions, organic lettuce, fresh milk, baked goods and Western Onion bagels my fave... oh and plenty of affordable cleaning supplies. The cashier was not pleasant to work with. Lines were long and they only had 2 cashiers. A bunch of people were arguing with them about their 'hello summer' line that's not 50% off as advertised. I think they should get their merchandise ready to scan at the discounted price to make lines go by faster. I visited this store on 3/27/22 and checked out at 3:49. Carol with brown hair and bangs was suuuuper unprofessional. While on the register checking out customers, she was taking a long personal call on her cell phone- gossiping and complaining about a coworker who "didn't want to work on Fridays and complains about not getting hours." She made the older man before me bag all his groceries by himself while she stood back, talking on her phone with her other arm crossed. No greetings, acknowledging customers, etc. Super terrible work ethic. She didn't even look at me, just scanned my items and put the receipt on top of them while she kept gossiping away. I miss the 99 cents store in Torrance on a 190th street and Anza. But this location is pretty great. It's fairly clean and organized and they have a good selection or products. I've scored some really awesome stuff here. For example, I got a "Sara Lee's oven mitts" for a buck. She used to be the Semi-homemade lady from Food Network. The mitts are thick and soft and had silicone tripes. It's really nice. Their staff are very nice and friendly. I'll definitely come back. read more

Im sad to put 1 star after numerous times I have visited this store and this is my first time getting a bad customer service vibe. I wasn't aware of the return policy or how it works since it was my first time returning at 99 cent store and Mr. J made it clear with his behavior by throwing the receipt and with his tone of voice at the registers. I have worked in customer services before and this is not how you treat a customer. Someone needs to reteach him customer service ethics. & for me I'll google the return policy. Ugh read more

Two items that was on the shelf for for $3.99 at the register it came up to $6.99 & $19.99 there was No Price Tags on the boxes just on the shelf for $3.99! As I was doing that, my daughter texted me so Stopped to answer her. That's when the employee told me "and no texting anyone to see if they want time "! I was stunned...#1, it's not her business who I'm texting or what about.. #2, I had already said thanks & was done interacting with her. #3. Who talks to customers that way? So the reason I'm giving 5 stars, i was in here a couple weeks ago with 5 kids, and yes they are bratty. The cashier, Amber was so kind and patient with us. The biggest thing was when i was $1.20 short and had to put something back, she said no dont worry and took the money from her own pocket. I was at checking out at the register and accidentally left my gift cards (Macy's, Barnes and nobles and VS) at the register. All the gift cards combined was worth worth $1055. I finally remembered yesterday where I left the gift cards. I called the manager and ask if they found my gift cards bag, and they said yes. I was excited to go pick them up. When I got there the assistant manager and sales staff was looked really suspicious. They asked me do I know what was in there, I said yes. My gift cards. They replied "This is all we found". The items that are left in the bag are coupons but all my gift cards were gone. It was gift cards I bought for my family and friend for Christmas but now no Christmas presents for them. I am not stopping here with this review. I will call all the other stores and try to cancel my cards and then file a police report for the missing items. This place is awful. I only went tonight out of convenience, but I ended up regretting it. Tonight I went to checkout and said hello to the cashier. She proceeded to ignore me the entire time she was ringing up my items. She wouldn't even make eye contact with me. She never asked if I had bags and was just throwing my things across the counter. I haphazardly tried to keep up with her tossing my items and was just throwing them in the bags. Last I checked, just because I have to have my own bags or I have to purchase them, that didn't relieve them of their duties of bagging my items. At the end of that circus act of a checkout, she looks at me and asks if I need another bag to which I loudly said, "Well, hello." After I paid, I walked outside and the blackberries I had purchased proceeded to fall out of one of my poorly packed bags and spill all over the ground. The manager replaced them, but I had to go back and get a new one myself. Rude. I know this is the 99 cent store, but I'm still spending money there and these people should have BASIC customer service skills. This location is great! Very clean and organized, and they have a decent grocery section! My hubby and I like to wander around here sometimes just to see what they have. They sell six packs of bottled water for 69 cents! The fresh food sometimes costs more than 99 cents though (like the milk, fruit, etc). Still good prices though. I get coupons in the mail that are buy three, get one item free! Even more of a steal! It's the perfect place to go for school supplies, cleaning supplies, birthday decorations, you name it! I got some wonderful highlighters there that are just as good as they would be if purchased from target or wal-mart. We come here for cleaning supplies to clean the kitchen/bathroom, too (Hey, if I have to clean, at least I can save on supplies, right?)
