Everytime I've had fish here it's always been fresh and delicious. Both the food and drink menus have a great variety of choices. Was my first time eating at this place. When we checked into our hotel we asked where the best place to get a burger was, most locals know where to go. We were not disappointed. This place is CLEAN. This has to be the absolute worst food I've ever eaten. The was zero flavor in the "seafood chowder" and the fish and chips. I might as well eaten a piece of oily cardboard. My Mom and Dad used to eat here several times a week and it was near and dear to them. After my Mom passed away my Dad still found comfort here and so would sit alone at the bar. He too now is very sick and today for his birthday was the first time out of the care facility in 6 months and of course he wanted to go to the 99 and you know what? Everyone treated him like a king, the food was amazing. The chef checked on us twice. They gave him the royal treatment and even an amazing dessert. The waitstaff hugged him, the manager helped him wheel his wheelchair in and out of the Men's room and well it made his year. Thank you. The people here are the real deal and of all the 99's the food is also the best and made him feel so special. I wish I could give this 100 stars. :) read more

I took my husband to the 99 Restaurant in Greenfield, MA for his birthday on Friday, June 24. This has been our favorite restaurant. We ordered our meal, my husband ordered the steak tips medium-well. My meal was fine, but my husband's meat was rare, bleeding. He sent it back to have it cooked more & it came back rare, still bleeding. He sent it back 2 more times, still bleeding. When a different person brought it back (not our waitress), she was rude and rolled her eyes. That made My husband really mad. After the fourth time, he ordered something else. We waited 30 minutes & the order never came out. He walked to the hostess's desk to ask where his meal was. Then, as he was sitting down, the manager brought it & said it was sitting back there, saying you have to realize it is Friday night. Very snotty, haughty. Do you want it or not? My husband said no & left. He came back to be sure they didn't charge him for it. She asked if he was going to pay for his meal & he said no, he didn't want it. I paid for mine, called the waitress over & gave her an extra tip. She is always a good waitress. The "manager" was awful. very rude. His meal was unacceptable due to the blood, there is no reason for the rudeness of the "manager", Friday night or not. read more

The waiter attitude was terrible, the table was dirty with food and forced to move to another table. No one in my party had phone capable of the no touch menu and sarcastically gave us one menu for four people. Wait a way to long for drinks, the water they gave is we didn't ask for had stuff floating through it. Cobwebs were on the wall and the floor was dirty with food and trash. A terrible experience all around. I actually made a yelp account specifically because of the horrible experience I had at this place. I can forgive slow service, and I totally understand that mix-ups happen in a busy kitchen. But if you bring me the wrong item off of the menu, I do expect that you'll bring me the right one when I bring it to your attention. That's not what happened here. Instead, when I told the bartender that she had brought me the wrong food, she argued with me and said I was mistaken. Not about what I ordered. No, she argued with me about what the food on my plate was. She then asked if I was allergic to the food she brought me. I told her I wasn't, but that it wasn't what I ordered. She told me that if I wasn't allergic than it didn't make any difference and, "[she couldn't] sell it anyway", now that it had been served, and walked away. I tried in vain for at least 15 minutes to flag her or the other bartender down but they ignored my entire party. Eventually I had to circle around to the other side of the bar where she was standing and tell her that I wasn't going to eat what she brought me because it wasn't what I ordered. This place had some of the worst service I've ever experienced at a bar or restaurant, and I advise everyone to avoid it. read more

After a really long morning on the road from Maine, we pulled in here at 3:00PM - starving. Found really friendly people and a great menu with lots of selections. Their special today is 'prime rib sandwiches' in four different varieties. I ordered the Philly Rib Melt. Really tasty. Would come again if we're ever in the area. read more

They have a good menu. I feel it is a notch above Applebee's. There food seams more fleshly prepared. They have a good kids menu if you have children. They know how little ones can be and get there order in right away. I think there burgers are great. If you want a good burger it is wort the wait over fast food. read more

Great food and great waiting staff. Very attentive to your needs. The heat in the place is a little high. Was told by 1 waitress, a certain manager always wants the heat that high, and people constantly complain but his personal needs come first. Other than that, would HIGHLY recommend. Restaurant is near our hotel. It was quite busy on a Thursday at 6:45 PM but service was quick. Appears to be place locals enjoy . I had baked scallops which were good but nothing to brag about. I was so Disappointed today when my friend and I went to 99 for their delicious Lobster Roll. DELICIOUS NO MORE!!!! Instead of the usual sub roll stuffed with Lobster and no fillers or sides for $17.00, we received a little hot dog roll with maybe a 1/4 cup of Lobster meat mixed with celery on top of a huge amount of lettuce. We could of went to Mcdonalds and got their roll for $8.99, 99's was no better in fact it had less Lobster in it. I wish I had asked the girl before we ordered as I had a sneaky suspicion this was going to happen. It was kind of tricky the way it was presented. We go fairly often, consistency is why. But----suggest staying out of the bar. They've lost their good bartenders and the current crop is dismal. Slow, too busy chatting or playing with register, fail to take dirty dishes or ask about refills, was never able to order desert one night and it took forever to get the bill. Typical of what you'll find any 99 Restaurant. They have a couple really good waitress (Luella) there and then they have some that are just there. Food is average, you get what you pay for. extremely misleading is there soup section.. they advertise a crock of French onion soup, that wants delivered to your table comes in an oversize Superbowl that has not been put in the oven that has a slice of plastic wrapped cheese draped across the slice of bread. extremely disappointing and definitely mark against them false advertising an expensive at 5 dollars for an bowl of canned French onion soup. there was no way that my onions for caramelized properly. as an undercover food critic I make sure I pay attention to dishes that I order frequently at different establishments. doing so well as me to be very critical of 1 place to another. They might consider taking that item of the menu if they cannot cook it properly and still feel comfortable charging their customers, as it was surely be a strike against them in our community. living here in Greenfield it's very hard to actually come across a very good, consistent, and well rounded restaurant. Another issue found with their soup section of their offerings is that they're clam chowder really was not fresh nor in anyway was actually filling the bowl it was a half full when delivered to our table. on trivia night you want to definitely be cautious as to where use it as it can be extremely loud and rowdy and patrons at the bar as well as the bar staff have no regards for the waitresses in waiters, tending to the dining area. Thursday, I witnessed to separate waitresses nearly drop bear trace do to patrons backing into them... ask to be very frustrating for the waitresses who are there busting their ass is like Luella. read more

Our meal at 99 was wonderful. It was really good. Don't listen to the other reviews, this place is fantastic and the service was just as good. Although we had to send the steak back because it was too well done; the general manager came over and assessed the situation; he took it off the bill and apologized he even offered a free dessert and told the chef to double time the new steak. This restaurant was fantastic and we will definitely be going back. Once again, don't listen to the other reviews this restaurant was great. read more

Hit or miss! I went once a few months ago and had one of the worst restaurant experiences. We were sat at a high booth with a 4 year old which was a nightmare. Then we waited over an hour for our food. My daughter slipped out of the booth several times and fell onto the floor because the booths are slippery and high and just not made for wiggly kids that small. Food was mediocre at best. Waiter was awful, never came back and we needed some drinks and things. Finally he came and I asked for the check. Had to wait at least another 30 minutes for the check. Then he gave me the wrong check. Just a nightmare. Just last week I went back because my brother wanted to go for his birthday. The experience was the total opposite! Our waiter was the best I've ever had. So attentive, quick, knowledgeable about everything on the menu, quick with our check, and very nice. Food came out very fast and was great. Everyone was happy. So I'll give 4 stars just because the last experience outweighed the other. read more
