We came here on a Sunday a bit before the dinner hour and had a great meal. Service was fast and friendly! Great selection of beverages. We started off with the bruschetta which was excellent. I had a cup of stuffed pepper soup and my wife French Onion soup. Perfect for a cool evening! I went with the fried chicken sandwich. They nailed it! Nice and crispy, with a very tender center. And it was nice and hot (temperature) when served. My wife's salad was awesome. They put a good amount of chicken on it! Great location with plenty of on street parking in downtown Greenfield. We came in December and they did a wonderful job decorating the inside for Christmas. We plan on coming back! read more

A solid place. Was passing through the area with a group of 6 on a Saturday afternoon and got seated right away. Our waitress was pleasant and checked on us just enough. The 1 star was lost due to the wait. It took about 30 minutes to get the appetizer and another 15 for the food. Otherwise all of the food we got was great. My party had the black bean burger, the mushroom Swiss burger, stuffed haddock, fish and chips, bbq chicken wings, chicken fingers, french onion soup and fries. I heard no complaints about the food and we all left with leftovers. Will certainly return! read more

I LOVE their French fries and the Mac and cheese ( add buffalo chicken) is the best. The waitresses often seem stressed but are always kind and helpful. One of the better places to eat in town by far. read more

Stopped in without a reservation on a busy Saturday night. They managed to get us in no problem. Although I recommend getting a reservation, it'll be easier to get a table as we sat at the bar, which was no problem at all. The staff was incredible. They were very busy and they were all hustling in the kitchen behind the bar and the wait staff. Very friendly relaxed atmosphere..The food was incredible. I had the chicken Parmesan dinner and it was more than enough. I had to take a to go container home,and in my opinion is the best thing on the menu. This place was recommended by some friends. It a very cool place with a great menu. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger burger that was cooked to perfection. My wife ordered a tomato basil salad with chicken, nicely prepared. Our appetizer was buffalo cauliflower "wings", which had a great kick. I've been going to the Bar & Grill for 4-5 years now and have enjoyed the food, staff and atmosphere. They have the occasional live entertainment, which can be loud depending on who is playing. Most have not been too loud. They have beer on tap, a full bar, and a pretty extensive menu. I tend to go for the Fish & Chips which usually has two good sized filets on a big bed of great fries. I've seen plenty of different dishes come out of the kitchen and they all look great. On street parking and handicapped accessible. Stop in and give it a try! read more

Great addition to downtown Greenfield! A real gem. We ate here while visiting friends in the area. The staff was fantastic and the food was excellent! My husband had a perfectly cooked burger and I had the meatloaf. I don't usually order meatloaf in restaurants but somehow I thought it would be okay here, and it was. We stopped in today on our way to Vermont and were amazed at how good everything was. We ordered fish and chips and kids chicken tenders. The salad that came with the fish was arugula based and was so fresh. Peppercorn salad dressing was very good. The fish was flaky and cooked to perfection. The service was also wonderful. Five stars! The fry oil made the chicken taste like fish. And my son didn't care for the buffalo chicken quesadilla and didn't eat it, but the owner refused to remove it from the bill. Odd, right? What's more odd to me is this owner who argues with customers about their perception of the food. We did not like the meal. It was not delicious. Both the chicken parm sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich tasted like fish. We took bites, the owner did not. The buffalo chicken quesadilla is apparent an acquired taste that we didn't care for. We had my grandmother's repass at the Main St bar and grill restaurant. The food was delicious, from the juicy flavor packed burgers to the enormous chicken parm the food was great for soul. Guilda our waitress was so kind, pleasant and accommodating. The atmosphere was perfect and we felt very comfortable behind the privacy screen. My mother and aunt ate here a few days ago and said the food was delicious then as well. Highly recommend! The bartender was friendly was the bar was stocked with every thing and more. read more

I've been to the "Grille" many times over the last 2 years. The atmosphere is always comfortable, the help friendly, and the food good. It's not an extensive menu, but most people will find something they like. There is a full bar, and at times, live entertainment. Inside dining and outside is available during warmer weather. There is plenty of parking on the street and handicapped accessible entrance. I recommend the fish and chips. The place was booked up for a private event later that evening, so they squeezed our 5.30pm reservation only for the private event attendees to arrive much earlier than expected, so it got kind of crazy. We ended up leaving before dessert. Ale: Excellent selection. They let us try four different ones before we settled on the ones we ordered Food: Generally too salty for our taste, especially for the seafood dishes we ordered. The quesadillas and Caprese were good. The bruschetta had too much balsamic vinegar. Of the soups, the clam chowder was good. The cubes of bread in the French onion soup wasn't toasted or not toasted enough, so they were soggy. Verdict: Come for the bar, but not the grill! read more

A Great Experience For several months our daughter and son in law have been raving about Main street Bar and Grill! We live about 45 minutes away, so it isn't around the corner. Tonight they brought us here, and they were right! As we pulled up my son-in-law reiterated that you could almost drive by this very unassuming local spot. What followed delivered far more than the very casual appearance would have promised. First, our waitress. Courtney was amazing. She went beyond efficient service. Rather, she took personal interest in each of us and couldn't have been more attentive. You could tell she wanted us to be happy and she treated the bistro as if it were her prize to cherish. Simply, wow! Courtney and staff found us a comfortable table as the high tops are a bit uncomfortable for two senior citizens. We were the table closest to the live music. Oh no!! Is it going to be too loud so we can't talk to each other? Not at all. A group called Ragged Blue was performing. They were outstanding! Vocals, banjo guitar Bluegrass. I enjoyed every note as we conversed, comfortably. What about the food? Perfection. My son-in-law has been raving about the beef tips. He, my daughter and wife all Ordered them. They were prepared exactly as requested. They enjoyed fresh green beans, loaded mashed potatoes, salad and fresh warm rolls. I chose a cup of wonderful clam chowder, loaded with clams and baked stuffed shrimp. The shrimp were a large size with a delicious stuffing. My daughter enjoyed her lemon drop martini as well. My wife and I shared a chocolate chip Connolly for dessert and our "kids" shared a hot fudge sundae! Courtney told us the owners of this great place are Christine and Tom. What a pleasant surprise! My husband and I were on our way back home from Vermont & stopped to have dinner. Maggie was our server at the bar. She was very pleasant and attentive even with the increased customers. She was able to make me my specific drink & gave honest opinions on food/menu questions. I got the stuffed shrimp with the wedge salad and my husband got the steak tip dinner. My stuffed shrimp were great, just don't forget to ask for the drawn butter. My salad had been cut fresh with crumbled bacon . My husbands tips were cooked perfectly and tender as should be. Keep it up! read more

I went to there restaurant today 3rd time not a good experience at all sat at the bar the bartender could care less more interested in talking to a lady at the bar it gets worse I put in a order French onion soap & grilled chicken sandwich waited for like 38 min no sandwich but frickin hot soup that is boilin. I bought this to there attention just back talk very poorly run great food but these people have no idea about customer service at all left with out my sandwich called about a refund the manager is just as bad as the skinny bartender who's trying to run the restaurant is concerned about people at her bar. The reviews are right - the place is clean and the staff are friendly. They are taking the Covid precautions very seriously; I saw the staff wiping down menus and carefully logging contact information in a book. The tables are spaced wide apart and we felt completely safe. But the food!! I was expecting ordinary, passable bar food - boy was I surprised. The clam chowder was excellent - hot and creamy and obviously freshly made (and we are kind of picky about our clams in this family). My son's French onion soup looked amazing and he loved it. The burgers and fries were just perfect, exactly what we wanted, and a small order of fries is plenty for two people. I had a black bean burger and it was lovely, with tons of silky avocado piled on top ... we ordered a TON of food and then ate every scrap. It's a low-key, unassuming kind of place but the kitchen folks know what they are doing. We will be back for more! read more

Main Street Bar and Grille is a wonderful establishment! On a day trip to Greenfield on 5/22/2022 to visit my sister, my boyfriend and I had our first Main Street bar and grille experience! We ordered the fried pickles, and bruschetta to start! Both appetizers were perfectly prepared and delicious. My sister and I ordered crispy chicken sandwiches and my boyfriend ordered a burger with Swiss, mushrooms and grilled pineapple! Again- everything was amazing. The staff was extremely hard working and friendly. Our server Bernice- was an angel!! She was more than accommodating and her service was a perfect 10! I would recommend the Main Street Bar and Grille to anyone in the Greenfield area or simply passing through! I look forward to my next visit! Secondly our waitress was super attentive and a sweetheart Big issue was with the bartender in the manager myself being a previous bartender for over 10 years I ordered a dirty martini I never bring drinks back but I felt like I had a dry vermouth martini and if you know what that taste like it taste like old opened wine, we asked for a new martini because I didn't like it the bartender had the nerve to say well I'm gonna have to charge you for two drinks then if I have to remake it..... Never in 10 years of me being in the restaurant industry would I ever argue with a guest if they like their drink or not or have the decency to tell them they have to pay twice for the drink... The manager was nice enough to take off the second drink but when behind the bar to mock the guests or known as my table.... And the bartender was very vocal on how she felt There was about four tables and six bar guests in the whole restaurant and it took the bartender 25 minutes to remake my dirty martini..... I wish I was exaggerating about the time but I was done with my meal and appetizer before I got my drink remade! It is a complete disgrace that this place has such a good kitchen but their staff is possibly the most rude people I've ever encountered! Place is cozy and the food is great. Servers are friendly and speed from sitting to eating our meal was great. I had the cowboy burger which was almost ... almost too big to bite into a side of hand cut fries perfectly salted and hot and crisp. Thou my GF helped herself to more than her fair share (GF French Fry Tax) the regular small fry portion was more than enough for both of us. My girlfriend had the fried haddock sandwich which she enjoyed. The decor is nice the tables are these beautiful real wool slabs with some of the outside curvature of the tree. Wow! What a find! It's not easy to find a good place to eat when passing through an unfamiliar town, but we were so happy to listen to the reviews of this restaurant and give it a go. It was a Sunday late afternoon and not crowded. We were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. The menu offered plenty of choices from lite fare to hearty meals. We ordered the chicken Parmesan and baked stuffed shrimp. The shrimp dish didn't come with anything as a side which is why it was so inexpensive so the side salad was added. Some of the dishes are stand alone and you have to add the sides for additional cost. It was still very reasonably priced considering the size. Both meals were excellent! The sauce on the chicken parm was not sweet, but a decent chunky tomato sauce. (Sauce can be very subjective! We don't like sweet tomato sauce). It was served over a pasta. The shrimp were served casserole style, there were 6 large served in a ritz cracker style crab stuffing, except the crab may have been imitation. It was ok though, we enjoyed it enough. Salads were good size. Since we still had a long drive to get home we didn't get apps or dessert, but we did see the table next to us with the fried ice cream. It looked pretty amazing! Anyway, this is a very clean restaurant including the bathrooms! There are no booths, only tables with bench seating on one side and high tops closer to the bar.
