We were back in the area for our yearly visit and remembered we enjoyed our last meal and decided to come again. We were not disappointed at all. The two women tending to the busy tables were like a pro tag team in helping each other to seat the tables , placemats etc... a well oiled team they were indeed. The chalkboard with the dessert specials they were promptly checking off what was selling out, I really like that because you right away what's available or isn't. I chose the nachos for my meal, I'm sorta a nacho snob but was craving them. I wasn't disappointed. Perfectly topped and cooked with some crispy cheesy chips which I like. I chose pasta & meatballs for my Granddaughter and tried a bite, those balls and sauce were wicked good also! I'd order a plate for myself next time. Bathrooms were clean also. Thank you!

I feel bad because Idk how to rate this place because we couldn't even eat. We arrived for lunch and were informed that it would be a wait of about 30 minutes because the establishment was busy. Ok no problem I told the lady we can wait in our car outside because there is no seating area. Everything good so far. About 40 minutes later we got called, sat down and order drinks, we are already tight with time since we have other places to be so we. decided not to order appetizers so we could be done faster. All the sudden we overheard a conversation with the manager and new customers that the kitchen was running behind and food has a delay of about 40 minutes. What??? We waited already 40, sat down for 10 and had to wait ANOTHER 40+ minutes for our food? The waitress was friendly and told us the kitchen has 1 person in the hospital and one called out. I understand that life happens but why fill up your tables have a full restaurant and make your customers wait over an hr. Im sorry We had to leave. But Leo's table saved our lunch in 10 minutes.

Drove 1hr and 43 minutes for Whole Belly Clams, not that I had to go that far, but it's what I do. Due to the price they have to pay, the clams are not available. Also out of lasagna. The place smelled like I was going to have some good seafood. My waitress suggested the Seafood Casserole. I asked if the crab in it was real, she came back with a no! So that was out for me. I wound up getting a ribeye which was great. Onion soup was excellent as I like low salt taste. A side of coleslaw was good, I like a sweet one. Now the Boston Cream Pie, for an out of house pie, she was good! 2 Octoberfest brews, 6 bucks a pint!!! Good price. Rachel was fantastic, if you like sarcasm, she can do that for you, if you want professional, that can also be had. I went with sarcasm! A plane interior, but who needs fancy to get in the way of a good meal out. Worth the ride, but I'll call ahead for those Whole Bellies next time, you should do the same!

Really good food I had the Wolfie Burger. The food is priced good with my burger only being $13.95. My whole table loved their food and the vibe of the whole place was amazing. Our server was also amazing seating a large table of 6 we did have to split up though (i don't think you usually would have to) The only thing to watch out for is the wait can be long we had to wait about 20 minutes at peak hours on a Saturday afternoon.

When's the last time you ran into someone that was 106 years old? When's the last time you sat in a restaurant booth to have lunch next to a 106 year old that was doing the same? And when's the last time you saw a 106-year old finish her lunch and order a slice of pie? We witnessed all of those amazing sites yesterday at Wolfie's Restaurant. Now even if we had not experienced any of those wonders, our lunch at Wolfie's would still have been a five star experience. They've been around for over 40 years and have become a beloved institution up in this neck of the woods. We were struck by three of their massive strengths - the incredible customer service, the quality of their food, and their low pricing. We took a booth in the front dining room (there's also a back dining room with a full bar) and met our fabulous server Angela. She was an absolute delight, warm, pleasant, funny, and welcoming.  Seriously, she treated us like we had been college friends. Wolfie's has a pretty big menu divided into appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, grinders, dinner entrees, specials and desserts. It will remind you of a New Jersey diner without the attitude. I started off with a cup of the Seafood Chowder ($3.75) that was excellent on so many levels. First of all -it was served blazing hot -no lukewarm tepid soup comes out of that kitchen. It was loaded with fish and potato chunks and surimi ribbons. It was very good. We both ordered a BLT ($5.95) and split an order of fries. The sandwiches were amazing -so much bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, perfectly  toasted rye bread and pickle slices. The fries were great too -hot and fresh and a pretty good sized portion. Now just like our 106-year old neighbor, we went for a slice of pie to go and share. We landed on Boston Creme ($5.25) which was a huge slice of creamy decadence, easily split-able for the two of us. So there ya go, for 25 buckaroos we had a terrific lunch with dessert in one of the sweetest places we've seen in a long while. Our lunch left us totally satisfied as far as service, value, hospitality and every other characteristic on your checklist. Wolfie's is a must any time you are up this way.

This place is a hidden gem! Stopped here on our way to VT. The service was great, very friendly. Had the Reuben and Monte Cristo sandwiches with Chicken Gumbo as the side. AMAZING! Had to get desert as well, Oreo Pie and Pumpkin Spice Cream Pie. Delicious! Worth every penny here with the hometown ambiance.

Leo's seems to always be busy, and sometimes there are no available tables. So many people make it quite noisy, and on top of that, the din from the kitchen is overwhelming. It sounds like they are literally throwing the dishes and pots as hard as they can into metal sinks! Not a peaceful place to eat and converse.

We had the ribs, burnt ends and brisket. Both the brisket and ribs were huge, moist with excellent flavor. He loved the burnt ends as well. The platters each came with a side, and they were both very generous in size. He chose the collard greens and thought they were just the right amounts of spice. I ordered the fried brussel sprouts and they were absolutely outstanding. I would go back just for them. Don't miss these! Before the menu change, I ordered a vegan tofu reuben with their delicious slaw, called a "Cosmos."…read more It was so good, I ordered it again, thinking it was impossible for them to get it right two times in a row. They did. So I came back a THIRD time and ordered it AGAIN, just to see if they can still keep their vegan cheese melted just right on top. It was incredible, AGAIN. Now that I've gotten this out of the way, ask where it is on their new menu as it is under revision--I don't like the tempeh version as much. Onto the rest of the atmosphere of Cushman. One of the most pleasant features of Cushman Market and Cafe is that it is nestled at an important corner in northeast Amherst. You need to travel further west to get to The Mill District and not much opens there early, and there's little else I can recall in the other cardinal directions. It's a pleasant trip, with plenty of parking in front, behind, and in a strip of side road across the street. I've never been in the market, so let me keep talking about the Cafe. The atmosphere of the Cafe is wonderful, with locals, safety officers, and regulars all visiting at each meal hour from breakfast to lunch. Nestled inside what looks like an old barn, complete with doors still hanging, Cushman has memorabilia from decades of music, sports, politics, and news frozen under acrylic, different for many of their tables. The café seems to have at most 20 chairs, and the staff behind the counter will deliver it to your table, call your name, or leave other orders by a stand near the back entrance. Cushman Cafe offers a variety of meals, alongside baked goods and freshly mixed café drinks. While I'm not a fan of the switcherels, I have enjoyed their dirty Chai lattes, iced teas, fresh coffees, and free water if I recall in a pinch. They have gender neutral bathrooms--which is great if you're tired of waiting in line for one of two as they are large but single occupancy. They offer cold panini sandwiches, hot panini, all sorts of eggs, egg sandwiches, and egg breakfasts, vegan and vegetarian options, alongside a seemingly visible carnivorous focus for their new menu's default. If you had a chance to hop on a bus and travel around Amherst, or you were passing through to the highways, Cushman Cafe is worth a quick stop. I've rarely had to wait long for my meals even in busy hours, and this is because of the large and competent kitchen, who--if you'll remember--can get a delicious sandwich right any day of the week. I hope cell service returns there!
