This 99 has the best prime rib and the service is excellent...highly recommend it and worth the trip to Lowell,MA.

Meh. Food ok, nothing to write home about. Waitstaff friendly and helpful. Beer on tap... Bud, bud light, Miller light, coors light, Mic ultra all on tap!!? It's the same beer! Throw in a micro or two, already. (No, Sam seasonal, while better, doesn't count. ) It's 2015-- no excuse. I think we have 2 craft brewers right here in town. Honestly if I could give them 0 stars I could. We had a party of 8 and they spent 20 minutes "cleaning off a table". Our waitress was rude and snarky. They brought us a stack of plates for an appetizer and amidst the stack was a large dead bug the size of a cricket. Only went here because my sister was playing softball in Dracut and there was major traffic and construction at the traffic circle. surprisingly this was ok food for the price. i got the lunch burger and for $6 is was great! nicely made, tasty and so inexpensive! we ordered out for dinner that night and b/c it was just a few min away from our hotel. for $15 i got the shrimp skewers and steak. the shrimp were a decent size (larger than i expected) and tasty. the steak was also pretty good. i got the carrots and brocolli as my sides, and they too were good. they served it with a biscuit...not my thing but hey, 4 out of the 5 pieces of my meal were great. and for $15 bucks, cant go wrong. for that i would recommend but i can see the other items did not look so appealing. glad i picked the right one for me! read more

Went to this location a couple months ago with my wife. After our experience there, we will never return again. We were served our appetizer and drinks in a timely manner. But then there was a shift change before our main meals were brought. Apon receiving refills on our drinks. My wife noticed a dead cockroach in her ice tea! No im not kidding. It was brought to the attention of the waitress who apologized and took it away. We ended up getting out drinks and appetizer on the house. And 25% off our meals. Poor service and a insult to expect customers to pay after a experience like that! The place needs a serious inspection done in our opinion. read more

Fun atmosphere, great service, and the lobster role is fantastic! Big, circular bar so it feels open and you're not sitting at the bar facing a wall. Tip the bartenders well, they are great! read more

Very poor design for those with disabilities. Unfortunately the new design did not help much for those in wheelchairs - it severely limits the table options, creating a longer wait for those with ambulatory needs. And the space is very 'tight' making navigation more challenging. I am sure it is up to ADA code but that really does not equate to ease of access. Sorry - my family will no longer visit. Food is decent... as expected from a chain type, but I feel that with the 'remodel' the prices are a bit steep. $12 for a chicken salad - please! read more

This is a good chain returaunt.. better than the others i've tried. Last time i was here the waitress mixed up my drink and OH MY GOODNESS! i was so glad she did! she gave me the bubble tea and it wasnt your average bubble tea because it wasnt much of a smoothie consistant it was a drink with delicious bubbles in it! Today my wife and I got golden fever fingers and a wedge salad. The wedge was small it's barely enough for two people. The two orders of golden fever fingers were x-large and the chicken fingers themselves are now small and the serving size is not x- large. Used to be good, but now lousy. I gave it a shot again today, and was again disappointed. I'm done. I ordered the Baked Schrod, rice pilaf, and broccoli. How can you screw that up? The plate arrived and the fish was piping hot but the broccoli and rice pilaf were cold. I mean the butter (which I had to ask for) wouldn't even melt on the broccoli. I took a taste of the fish and it was over cooked and very fishy tasting. Bleech. The waitress took the plate away. They reheated the rice pilaf and broccoli. I should have just returned the whole thing, but didn't want to create a scene because of the person I was with. The broccoli was fine with some butter and salt, the rice pilaf was kinda greasy and flavorless. Meanwhile, the person I was with had the new Chicken, Broccoli Mac and Cheese. It wasn't bad. But wasn't memorable either. It tasted just like their other mac and cheese based dishes. We also ordered unsweetened iced tea. I asked for extra lemon. I got 2 tiny pieces of lemon that wouldn't amount to 1 piece in most places. Pitiful. Years ago, before they switched the the new look and 99 reasons bull$hit all over the walls the 99's was a great place to eat. I loved that they tried to make it look like a local pub, filling it with memorabilia local to the area. The quality of the food was consistent and good. You could order anything off the menu and be happy with it. Now, since the 99 Reasons switch the food is very unpredictable. Some things are fine while others are just nasty. Seems to me that if you order something which I would typical consider a healthy option (like baked schrod) it tastes like crap. If you order something greasy, cheesy, or that can be filled with cheap tasty ingredients (potato skins, quesadillas, hamburger) it will taste ok. My guess is they've switched to a different food supplier since the 'Reasons change in an effort to maximize profits, and unfortunately, in trying to over monetize the chain the quality of the food has suffered. We come here 2-3 times per month for yrs. The past 2 times we have come, a Friday and a Sunday, the service and food were terrible. Service was slow, 10 minutes before a waitress came over to take order. Food took forever and then waitress disappears. 1st visit my rice and veggies were cold. No waitress to be gound. 2nd visit my steak was raw. Sent it back and they brought me exact same steak they microwaved. After food was dropped off waitress disappeared for 20 minutes! Had To Eat Gross Food Because Could Not find waitress or manager. When finally found someone to ask for manager he came over and lectured me on recooked steak suppose to be tough. Really!. And after complaining, waitress disappears again and doesnt bring check for another 12 minutes. This place has gone down hill. read more

Service was awful! Seemed as though three cooks had enough time to go out for a cigarette break while we sat in the waiting area for over 30 mins. When we got sat there were over 5 tables open. We had dirty silverware and only two sets were brought back for four people. She wasn't attentive at all. She never checked back on us and seemed busy with other people. We waited over 30 mins for our food. Another table that was seated after us got their food before us. Didn't see that I didn't drink my wine, she didn't care to ask if I wanted something different in place of it. I had asked for the check and she walked right by me not acknowledging me at all. This is one of favorite 99's .. Reason being the staff. Bartenders here know their stuff!. You grab a seat @ the bar, you will be greeted within 60 seconds. Even if 1 bartender is running the show. They know how to time out between menu served to taking order, firing apps, entree, another round of drinks etc etc.. The food is consistent.. Never bad.. Cooked to order, cant ask more than that. I have dealt with waitstaff, they are super friendly, accommodating,. I have ordered take out on numerous occasions, the hostess crew always gets my order right, with all the extras that are needed. Just always a pleasant experience. One quick thing, tell the moron in previous review, he wasnt served a head of lettuce, it was a half or known as a wedge as described on Menu. I had a horrible experience and so did everyone that I was with. We asked for simple things like medium rare burgers and no tomatoes on our burgers and everyone's order was messed up. I received the exact opposite of what I asked for and had a whole entire different meal. We had an extra burger that they made and sent to us. The only reason I am giving this restaurant 2 stars is because the service wasn't bad. I would not recommend this place to a friend ever. read more

Visited this 99 Restaurant on 12/28/13 with some family. The burgers, chicken dishes, and angus meatloaf was very good. Interior decor and atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Service was prompt and courteous. I would recommend this place for food and beverage. read more

Went out for lunch with family and our 6 month old. This was our first time attempting to dine out with the baby so we could visit with my mother in law and the 99 host staff was so unbelievably rude and not helpful. We walked in the door holding my son's infant carrier and even before being greeted we were immediately told they could not flip their highchairs for a carseat by two employees. I stated I understood and the hostess asked " Well where would you like to sit then?" I responded with I'm not sure, where ever his seat will fit or wouldn't be in the way. They discussed and decided a booth would be best and brought us to a booth that wasn't wide enough for me to put his seat down. We clearly couldn't put his seat down right in front of her but she turned quickly and walked away mumbling something about babies in a restaurant. I decided to just tuck the carseat away and we took turns eating and holding my son. I feel as though if you have a policy about not flipping the highchair for an infant seat, you should know where else in the restaurant would best fit a family in that situation and I hope you will revisit your hostess training policies and how to treat and greet all guests. Our server was a very kind girl who offered to bring a highchair over anyways to see if my son might be able to sit in it, he was too small but it was nice of her to try after seeing how stressed I was about how we were greeted. We enjoyed our meals and tipped our server generously but I could not help leaving disappointed over how we were treated upon arrival. First impressions are important and next time we will choose to eat somewhere more accommodating. read more

I was at the 99 in Lowell, Ma on Fri. Oct. 21, 2016. We had a great waiter but the food was terrible! I had the seafood chowder and it was not what it used to be and it was lukewarm. The spinach I had with my fish had a funny taste to it. I told the waiter and asked for some broccoli. That wasn't much better. The fish I had was pretty good. I had the petite key lime dessert and it didn't even taste like key lime! I would definitely think twice about coming back to this restaurant!! read more

This was the third time I've been to this location and I would not hesitate to go back. The food is what you would expect from the 99 which has been pretty consistent for as far back as I can remember. One of the things that stood out today was the friendly service throughout the restaurant. I noticed how the waiter who brought me my meal was courteous enough to bring my drink refill himself and I didn't have to wait for my waitress. My sister was happy with her steak tips. I told her she might like the seasoning and when she saw them she complained that they were not medium rare; but then she loved them and ate them all. I got a New Year's Day special lobster bisque. All I can say is I was going to ask for more crackers and I can't tell if it tasted so good it didn't need them or I just couldn't stop eating to pause and ask! Amazing; wishing it was a regular item. I got the boneless wings and skins sampler. I loved the chicken; but the skins were blech! Maybe in the freezer too long from 2016! But no meal is perfect. I would order take out at lunchtime a lot last summer. It seemed every single time I ordered it was wrong either there wasn't any gravy when I had asked for extra or they put a white gravy on my angus chopped sirloin. I stopped going there for months because they never got the order right and were very unfriendly when bringing the order out for curbside. I decided to try them again today and wished I hadn't. I will NEVER go to this particular restaurant again I have given them many chances. I got the angus chopped sirloin again and ordered it med well with extra gravy on the side. When I got back to my office and opened it the sirloin was barely cooked it had red juice leaking from it not very appealing and the extra gravy I asked for was there however it was all over the potatoes. Not what I wanted. To cement my decision was the fact the waitress bringing the Inch out was very unfriendly par for the course with this restaurant and I got there at 12:00 to pick it up during our first rel snow of the season the parking spots weren't plowed and I was stuck in the space for at least 5 minutes trying to get out. Visited the restaurant on Chelmsford ST in Lowell, Ma...must say wasn't impressed this time...got the (tips, chicken finger and fries meal) food looked like it was reheated...and as if it was just thrown on the plate all messy around the plate not to mention I got like 10 fries. ohhh and the waitress didn't even offer dessert. This is a great place to go! Despite that it's a chain, which so many critics are against, it is a great one. Service is always kind and courteous and the food is cooked right and served promptly. I like the fact that I get to know the menu and I am able to try something new each time. I've been trying the like dishes and they are fulling as well as tasty. My favorites?
