Safe place and consistent and reliable for an easy meal. The place is older and it's age shows, but the servers are great - especially "T" (Theresa). She knows and always warmly welcome you each time you come in. They have seasonal menus and for the fall, the chicken pot pie is delicious. Disgusting. Went last week to get the colossal lobster roll and Country fried chicken. The lobster was less than colossal and watery as hell. The country fried chicken came with a tablespoon of gravy. We complained and were offered refund and a coupon for another visit which we did not get. This is not the first time I've had a problem with the 99. Had a problem on West Yarmouth as well and they did not pay attention to what I thought. This chain has gone down the tubes. It has been a while since we went to a 99, so we decided to try this one out. The menus seemed to cut down a bit and there arent too many options on the menu, like the kids steak and the prime ribs. Surprisingly they gave the kids a huge patty for the cheeseburger. The baslamic salmon was very tasty, vegetables was dry. The fish taco was okay, just wish there are more filling in the tacos. I order the seafood trio at many 99 restaurants. I ordered at the Walpole location with broccoli, add price on for the asparagus with Dijon sauce. Well , meal awful. The fish all over cooked to being ruined. Little to no breadcrumbs dressing. Broccoli not raven steamed . Asparagus not grill and limp... sauce was some disgusting sauce and looked over cooked or days old heated up... was brown gravy looking and not the Dijon sauce I got at the other 99's. Cook or chef needs help‍, retraining or replacement.... Sending a plate out like that. Popcorn was stale too . Location needs corporate review. read more

Made the mistake of avoiding crowds and went there for st. Patrick's Day they advertise they had corn beef and cabbage so I ordered it and it was terrible ! free popcorn, kids eat free day after sox win, good food at affordable price point, attentive friendly service, good takeout experiences, calm (ie. not too noisy) ambience...lots of good things to say about this place (and the franchise, in general)! been here many a times; probably should have loaded more pictures. tried at least half if not more of their entree offerings over the years, hardly disappointed. maybe i'm a nibbler but i often have enough food to take home for another meal. as such, i have also started the practice of bringing my own takeout box, bc the ones they provide are made with styrofoam. in the spirit of advocating for the one Earth we have, may i suggest businesses like this size and scale to start an environmentally friendly movement and lead the industry to bring us all to a better future. start small -- even just doing the following few things would make great, great impact: - straws upon request - smaller water cups (i, for one, takes at most five sips during a meal. i shall stop taking water to reduce waste) - compostable take out boxes - incentive for diners to "bring their own doggy bag" - support local businesses from farming products to beer (at least for seasonal items), even art decor including sign/flyer designs trust me, the ocean animals, the forest animals, the arctic animals, and all of our children will thank you. *i*, along with many "tree huggers", will also thank you and be encouraged to patronize more right now if these actions are taken. if one has ever looked at videos portraying how much trash is currently floating around in the Caribbeans (amongst other seas), you'll see that our pollution situation is dire. granted, these new practices will need to be visibly noted (via signs, posters, other PR elements), so that diners understand the importance of this mission instead of thinking skipping on straws is just a way of cutting corners. bottomline, hospitality can be achieved without waste. please consider. I've been a regular at the 99 in Walpole for years. I was a patron on Father's Day. I see the poster who says everyone was having fun. No, everyone was not having fun listening to the loud off key singing that went on forever it seemed. Between him and the loud patrons who were finally asked to cash out, many people were distressed and upset, not at the manager. The 99's not a karaoke bar, it was not fun. These people ruined the Father's Day meal for many. The manager had to ask him to stop singing, people were complaining about it. The other 4 people who chimed in and didn't mind their own business made everything worse. The manager did nothing wrong. He had to think of all the customers' experience. I forgot to mention one of the women who was asked to cash out, the woman with dyed black hair, she was screaming at the top of her lungs like a Karen gone wild! She probably doesn't even know people were clapping when she left! I felt so bad for everyone trying to enjoy their meal. I really hope she's not allowed back there. read more

I've been going to 99 restaurants since I was a kid, and this on is right on par. I found the restaurant to be clean, the staff to be professional ( our waitress was wonderful!) and the food was good. I feel like the menu has become a little impressive over the years, but that's not the fault of this location... It's 99 in general. The location is also great, right on route 1 with ample parking. It's also a good spot to sit at the bar and watch the game, as they have a good spacious one. Pretty solid. read more

I saw a post on Facebook about how the Manager at this location, Marcus, had kicked people out and asked people to stop when an old man was singing and enjoying his Father's Day and the rest of the guests applauded. That is unacceptable and I hope that the 99 takes action in correcting this wrong that was brought into an entire community on a HOLIDAY! 0/10 will not be returning to this location as long as Marcus is still employed there. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Ordered pork steak and stuffed shrimp and waited for over 30 mins for the meal. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm. When I cut into the pork steak, it was a literal slab of fat. Had to send it back. The shrimp looked like it had freezer burn and the 'stuffing' was a tiny scallop buried in a big ball of breading. Couldn't eat the baked potato because it was lukewarm with the butter on the side instead of on the potato. How do they expect the butter to melt on a barely warm potato? I've never gone to a restaurant and not eat anything. The server tried his best to help, but it didn't make my experience any more pleasant. This experience makes dining at McDonald's feel like a 5-star restaurant quality service. Wish I could give this restaurant no stars. read more

The place was packed. The elderly man was singing, and everyone enjoyed it and applauding him after he was done. Marcus the Manager came out and told him he can no longer sing. Everyone got quite upset including myself.. I asked the son if he was told not to sing and son said yes. I couldn't believe what I heard, neither did the elderly husband and wife sitting nxt to me. The husband got into a convo with him and told him he's been in the music industry for 65 yrs.. Well 6 of us were then asked to leave bc we applauded him.. How on EARTH does one get kicked out of a Rest. for applauding an 88 yr old enjoying his Father's day. I'm still in shock. Many got up and walked out cause they too could not believe what they heard. Well the 48 hour rule of doing business is a month ago now. The local manager I referenced in my review mirrors the cooperation and their concern about the customer experience at all of their many eateries. Sorry after 20 years of a friendly restaurant for family and colleagues now falls very short. Plenty of other such places on Providence Highway to replace. Was so excited to see Prime Rib special last weekend-but so disappointed in delivery. Placed the order at 4:15Pm for a 6:30PM pickup. The order wasn't ready until about 7:50PM. My daughter patiently waited for the pickup. There was one young girl trying to shuffle out all the pickup orders while other customers impatiently honked their horns and made rude comments. Management should be ashamed. It wasn't that young servers fault. Management should have stopped accepting orders. Food was OK but not noteworthy enough for that delay. Soup was cold. Asparagus was just barely over raw and totally missing the dijon sauce and another side was totally missing as was a dipping sauce. I know the restaurant industry is struggling during the pandemic and I'm happy they had a busy night - but get the management under control or your loyal customers will decide to go elsewhere. read more

What I like about the 99 is that all the waitresses are really nice, pleasant and friendly, They're like mom without any of the guilt. The food is pretty good lots of options for everybody, and great fries. I appreciate the local craft beer of Jack's Abby. I splurged and went for a very extravagant dessert of some Oreo and ice cream brownie variety. Three words: deck a dent. If you've been to one 99 restaurant you've basically been to them all. This location is clean and the staff is friendly. The food is your run of the mill chain restaurant grub. Lots of burgers and meat and potato entrees. It's a fairly large space with lots of seating and I've never had to wait for a table. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get and the flavors are good. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but when I'm passing by it's a stop I'll make. read more

A large New England chain, I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants but my son said I'd be happy, he was right it's very good. We started off with their house brewed beer, very good. I took a bite of everybody's so I could tell you the chicken pot pie was excellent, large chunks of white meat, the pie crust itself was buttery, flaky and delicious. The New England fish and chips was battered Schrod fried and served with French fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. The baked bruschetta pasta was penne pasta, seasoned tomatoes, marinara sauce, Parmesan cheese, fresh basilcan you make Cheese crispy and delicious. The kids jumbo hotdog 100% Beef, the junior sliced sirloin was tender and tasty. All children's meals come with one side and a beverage choice. The apple BBQ pork ribs were good, I'll give it a 3, no comparison to our Oklahoma/Texas BBQ, it was fun just to taste and compare. The restaurant was in disarray as the kitchen was backed up and they did not have many menu items like prime rib sandwich and fish n chips. To run out of popular entrees on a Saturday night is unacceptable. Ordered boneless buffalo tenders which were not buffalo and tasteless and the fried shrimp was tasteless. I left my conference at lunch time and my companion and I started to drive back to NJ/PA and said we'd stop somewhere along the way for lunch. As we came upon 99, I decided to stop. I had never eaten in one, even though I've driven past them many times on my trips to New England. A quick check of the Yelp reviews and we decided to go in. (THANKS YELP!) Inside reminded me of an old Ground Round. Staff was very friendly. Beer is a bit high priced, but we ordered anyway. My companion's classic burger was delicious. She said it was one of the best she's had in a long time. Based on reviews here on Yelp, I ordered the cold lobster roll. I was pleasantly surprised at how much lobster was in the roll. The food was good, however the portions for the seafood casserole were tiny - for almost $18.00 I don't think it was enough food. Also the wrap came with like 4 fries on the side, very small side.
