I've been to this chain restaurant many times. Moreover, I've been to many restaurants and never have I had a better waitress. Marie is her name. In fact, if I were you, I would request her. Her service was personable, prompt and extremely courteous. We left her an extra tip. She made my visit feel like it was home. Awful experience. I've been here many times before but tonight was awful. We had a drink at the bar and our table came available. We sat at our table for 15 minutes without service. I notified the hostess and still no service came. We gave up and left. A distinct waste of time. We've eaten here many times before but this experience was awful. Every manager should take a lesson from the new manager at this 99. People its about customer service, experience and the food! Chris Fucci (sp.?) delivered my fish and chips to the table for lunch today, the fish was a tiny little piece and I made a comment since my friends steak dip looked great. Chris turned and said " would you like another piece" I said sure and he was back in 2 minutes with another piece of fish. Second time I ordered takeout where the hot food melted the cheap styrofoam to-go container. It literally made holes in the container and the juice from the food made a mess of my car. This spot deserves a huge high 5 for doing their job, and doing it well. COVID has done a number on the hospitality industry without question. One part of the business effected which has scorned me every time until today has been take out. My favorite spots, of all cuisines, seem to be struggling with completing take out orders accurately, and with fresh food. Today we gave the 99 a shot, today I was beyond satisfied! Kudo's to this place. From $5.99 apps (until 5pm of course) and my kids getting their two meals for free (thank you Red Sox!) to my steak tips being exactly what I wanted, this was what I've been looking for every other time I ordered out. Okay, the food here is good and affordable. The staff is great as well. The reason why they are getting 3 stars from me is because I did a to go order and they mess it up. I got the shoreline combo and what I got was half ass- when I called and spoke to the manager he said he will send me a gift card in the mail for my troubles and so I don't have to drive all the way back. Guess what? Its been over a month, no gift card. I could call and complain but I really don't feel like dealing with it. So I haven't gone back, just because of this. Dinner here was good, service was good. It's a chain, nothing spectacular but solid food for the money. Only criticism is that the aisle space is rather lacking. Wait staff have a real challenge not bumping into one another as patrons do heading to the table and getting up to leave. read more

I feel like my entire meal came out of a microwave. Had the seafood bisque which seemed straight out of a container and had no chunks at all. Living in Norwood, this is our go-to 99 location. We've never been disappointed! The servers are friendly and attentive, and the food is good. Not to offend anyone else's review, but do you really think you're going to get high quality seafood? It's a chain restaurant known for their burgers. That being said, I find it bothersome that the ketchup is always empty! Almost every visit we have to grab a bottle off of an unoccupied table. Sweet Heat Burger - my favorite! I love the crispy jalapenos they put on there, and there's always a perfect amount of chipotle drizzle. It's not over bearing, so it really does have a sweet heat. I love jalapenos so this my #1. All Star Burger - this is my boyfriend's go-to. It has always been cooked to specifications and the stack of toppings is massive! Buffalo Tenders - their buffalo sauce packs a good punch and the chicken is tender. Potato skins - meh, they could use some more bacon vs. the amount of potato. I usually douse mine in ketchup for flavor, maybe everyone else does too and that's why there's never any ketchup. Chicken Pot Pie - scrumptious! It has a well-balanced mixture of chicken, veggies and gravy. The crust is flakey deliciousness and the mashed potatoes aren't tasty. Honey BBQ chicken wrap - the honey bbq sauce is nice and tangy. This also has a good balance of ingredients (some places love to fill wraps with lettuce). French fries - perfectly crispy without being greasy. read more

Living in Westwood, this is my closest 99 Restaurant. It sits on a space directly on Route 1 by the Norwood / East Walpole line, across from the Walpole Mall. I have been going here for years and have not ever once had a bad experience. In the past, the news reported some expired / bad food being given at the 99 restaurant in Foxborough, but never the Walpole location.... proving this location is just that-much more trustworthy. All of the employees at this location are always friendly, and this location rarely ever has a wait. Food is delicious (love burgers from here!), and always is out in a reasonable amount of time. Restaurant is large and always clean, for a plus. They even have "curbside" for take out orders (meaning they will bring out your food for takeout!). My only complaint about the Walpole location is the parking. The lot is sort of like bumper cars and not designed very well. Located right on Route 1, and very close to I-95 (Exit 9 from I-95 North, Exit 10 from I-95 South). 5 stars. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for a long time and last night on June 19 went there with friends from out of town and had the worst meal and service. the food was cold and the waitress was new and had very little experience. when we told her the food was cold she did not know what to do. Did not like the new lay out and did tell the manager when we were leaving but he did not seam to care. His clothes were also dirty. I just don't know what happened to this restaurant. I ordered take out with my friend about a month ago. I ordered the royal sirloin steak. Got home and they had given me a hamburger with mashed potatoes on the top and mushrooms. Have an allergy to mushrooms. Had to throw the meal away. It would have taken me 40 minutes to drive back to get the correct meal. I called the manager. He said he would send me a gift card for the inconvenience. Never received it. Will not return. They do not care about there customers. read more

I've never had a bad experience at this particular 99 restaurant but now I have. We got here around 11:15am and got seated quickly because not many people were in the restaurant at the time and we ordered salads as an appetizer. We received the salads very quickly after ordering them to find out a few seconds after examining the salad that the salad was wilted and discolored. We flagged down the waitress who fixed the problem for us with hesitation. Then we later see the waitress bringing popcorn to all the other tables except ours (yes aggravating!). Again we were one of the first few people in the restaurant and noticed later that our was food sitting there on the food pick up line for at least 40 min #aggravating #disapointing. Just had lunch at the Ninety Nine in Walpole, MA which I had really liked up until this point....the Red Sox won last night so I took my four grandchildren to lunch. If the Soxs win one child with adult get to eat free..we had four children and two adults, so two where going to eat free. My grandson ordered a burger and fries, when it arrived a bug ran out from the burger..of course I slamed it and called the waitress..she gave us his meal free. the more I thought about it the madder I got..we all should have eaten free..awful sickening how can they feed people? My boyfriend and I frequent 99 at least twice a week, I started a new diet and found a few dishes I really enjoy. The last time we were at 99, we had to wait 10 mins. for anyone to even recognize that we were standing at the door. When we were seated, we waited another 20 mins. before our waitress came to our table and when she did... she seemed like she didn't want to wait on us, like she didn't want to be bothered. Well we ordered our food and we noticed one of our meals was sitting under the heat lamp for at least 10 mins. When we got our food my boyfriends fish and chips was not very hot and the fries were soggy, actually the plate was so hot you couldn't even touch it. Our waitress dropped our food off and never returned, we had to ask another waitress passing by for a drink. We were so disappointed I don't know if we'll ever go back. Went to the 99 Walpole Saturday Evening 2-23-2019. Usually come here on a regular basis as the food and drink is a fair value for the money. Last Saturday evening completely turned my wife and I off from The 99. We endured a one hour wait when we were told 25 minutes. The restaurant was filthy, i.e., food on the floors, un-bused tables etc. Plus, it was 29 F degrees outside. The AC was on. Our server had a flat affect; not one smile. It appeared the whole place was being staffed by high-schoolers who went through the one day instant 99 server who can't add syndrome class. My wife ordered clam chowder which arrived cold and had the consistency of mashed potatoes. My top sirloin was presented raw. I ordered the steak medium not raw. I can understand if the staff was "overwhelmed" as it appeared they were very, very busy, but this is no way to run a restaurant. The undercooked steak, which I took a bite out of, could have lead to food poisoning. Will not be returning. read more
