Always a good time at the 99, had a new server and she was still learning but was excellent

Ordered pickup, was missing two items. Both burgers were shaken such that their buns were entirely displaced and their sauces entirely set in the bottoms of their containers. My fries that came with my burger were missing entirely. Additional side order was also missing. 2 out of 5 items. Also I was made to wait an extra 6 minutes after they first came to the car because I was picking up the order when a different family member ordered, even though I could give every detail about the order, meaning the food was already cooling by the time I left, never mind actually got it home. I was then given what I can only call a preschool talking-to about it, like I had taken some other kid's toy during play time. Needlessly hostile. The food simply is not good enough to put up with that, and the prices don't help, either. read more

Prior to Covid (2020) we came here about twice a month for Prime Rib, Baked Potato, and Caesar Salad. Two dinners and two large glasses of Wine plus tax and tip came to about $75. After Covid (late 2022), no Prime Rib, no baked potato, no Caesar Salad. There was no reason to go back. Now our favorite foods are back, but there have been some changes. The same exact meal with tax and tip has gone from $75 to $122. I was expecting a large price hike, but I was also expecting the meal I remembered from 2020. Service was good. The wine and baked potato were as I remembered them, but the Prime Rib was a big disappointment. The Caesar Salad had fresh lettuce, too little cheese, and so little dressing you almost needed a microscope to find it. We got there at 6:30 and the restaurant was nowhere near full. I like my Prime Rib rare, but, in the past, I always had to settle for medium rare or sometimes a little more than that. However, this night, all they had left was medium well. We ordered it anyway. The old taste was there, except there was way too much pepper. I don't think I would spend that kind of money again unless I could get a medium rare piece without an overdose of pepper. At the end of the meal, I was presented an electronic pad where the server stands over you while you have to put in a tip to make payment. I hate these things. The Prime Rib at Mezza Luna is way better and only $4 more. read more

So first off, I'd like to say it was definitely the most wonderful server we've ever had. She was very much on top of everything she came by several times made sure our drinks were kept full. We had cocktails we had soda we had water all that went well. I did think that the menu was very overpriced. I thought it was like OK but we were taking our sister out and surprising her by having a lobster roll for Easter. She said it was wonderful that the the taste was very good. It was sweet. It was moist. Lots of large pieces of lobster. She had the hot lobster roll. My hubby had the Vermont burger with the Vermont mayo he thought that was pretty cool. It didn't really have an overly heavy taste of the maple syrup that we were expecting it to have. It was after all creamy smooth. The vegetables were fresh. The french fries were delicious. He doesn't like his food to be super hot like me. I like my food to burn mouth that doesn't always happen for me. I had the prime rib, medium with a baked potato and a salad. It was big lots of fresh vegetables really a good size. The baked potato was nice and hot and fresh. The butter melted perfect that's me as a good sign. I was, however, very disappointed in the prime rib. It was lukewarm. It had lots of you know a ajuice gravy on the plate, but also in the little cup, and it was a little hard to cut. It was kind of chewy unlike a regular prime rib, which was like kinda like melt in your mouth. It had a lot of fat more than I thought it kind of would , but like you know, every place is different. It definitely was more than I thought it was gonna be, but I should've probably looked at the price on the menu, but I had set in my mind to get that so I probably wouldn't get something else. I probably honestly would not buy it again especially from there. But it was good to spend the day with our sister, especially and with being Easter and stuff and being wonderful weather and things. But the restaurant was quiet, which was good not a lot of people and we got there like at 2 o'clock in the afternoon so we really thought it would be a lot more overwhelming with customers and stuff with church and stuff was over, but it really wasn't which was kind of nice. I will definitely go back again tonight instead of the 99 but I won't get prime rib like I said, it really was just disappointing. But again the server her name was Kaylin. She was awesome and I would recommend her anytime. I go in there again. read more

Tonight 7/11/2025 Ordered 2 fish and chips, 2 small chowder and 2 orders of stuffies to-go. Order came to almost $90 !!! Won't ever go here again. Portions are smaller and prices are higher! Local restaurant VELS is so much cheaper and better quality!! read more

Been a LONG, long time 99'r. In fact, loved it so much we always searched for 99's traveling throughout NE. Been to many. It was our go-to restaurant at one time, was home-cooked food. Something has changed. The staff are great (except for Manchester NH) but the food is not-so-much anymore. What happened?? Food is under quality and plate presentation-meh. Fries are the go-to. I had one bad experience awhile ago. I gave it another try today. I order the new BBQ chicken sandwich with peppers and onions topped of with America cheese. The cheese wasn't even close to being melted, the peppers and onions were cold . I chose to have them heat it up in the microwave. My mistake the chicken was like rubber I decided to get a burger M/R it came out almost well done. End result they obviously didn't charge me for either plate however they did charge me for my wine. Frequently eat here or order to go, food has always be great and service wonderful. 2 weeks ago ordered to go had to throw out both baked haddock meals, fish did not taste or smell fresh had a ammonia smell to it. So I called to speak to a manager, who was busy , so i spoke to the host. Even offered to bring the food back, I was told to just throw it out. He said he would take my info assured that I would get a call back and would be refunded. No call back called the next afternoon same story manager is busy but will reach out to me. 2 weeks later nothing no call no refund. We eat at this 99 once a month. Last time, when Anthony was the chef, I had one of the best burgers of my life. Today, I asked for my usual...a medium well cheddar burger. It was burnt to a crisp. It literally has a layer of char on the entire burger so ALL I COULD TASTE WAS BURN. And dry as a bone. I could not taste the meat. I sent it back. I cold see the flames from the grill shooting up a foot in the air, the grill was on too high!!! The second attempt was almost as bad as the first, The meat had a little juice this time, but the layer of char overwhelmed the taste AGAIN. I ate about 25% of the burger and brought the rest home for my dogs. The red onions were giant rings and were dry. The chef should sliced them thin and provided a full slice, not a few big rubbery rings. And we bought $20 of raffle tickets for the Veteran's Flag charity. Go figure. The manager came over and saw that I was unhappy with the second cinder-burger. I was unwilling to sit for yet another 15 minutes waiting for a different entre. He said he would do a make good. But he never came back. We paid and left. I will NOT be going back to this 99 unless Anthony is on duty...so I will now need to call ahead every time. Sorry, not a good reflection on your chain of restaurants. Now it's time for me to go and do a Google review. The 99 was advertising for St Paddys DAY ( March 17 and 18) a Reuben. We got there at 630 pm on the 17th and sat at the bar, to watch the Bruins, and they were out of Rye Bread. ( WHAT? you still have a whole other day for the special) then we ordered a side salad and wanted Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing, ooops , sorry, we are out of that. (What? seriously?) We like it there because the bar gals are great, but this was seriously unacceptable, and yes, I realize that food is more expensive than 4 years ago, however, the bill isn't as "Family-Friendly" as it used to be......... This "99" is really quite nice. The minor complaint I have is that the Wi-Fi is weak. My phone, at least, can't pick up the restaurant Wi-Fi. When I am sat closer to Townplace Suites, I can pick up their Wi-Fi. My main issue, and why we don't frequent 99 anything like as much as we used to, is that there is a 3% take-out fee. I know that's minor, but I have to get take-out for my wife who is housebound, and so there is a principle at stake here. read more

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat while shopping nearby. The food is just okay nothing great but I think it's exactly what you would probably expect. Service was okay, probably a little slow considering it wasn't very busy. But the prices are pretty reasonable for a quick lunch. read more

We kept seeing these restaurants everywhere on our summer vacation traveling across the northeast, so we decided to stop in one. It was pretty underwhelming. Even though it was half empty, we had to wait for a table because of the labor shortage, which was expected. Free popcorn at the beginning of the meal was nice. Menu had some decent options, but prices were a little high for what you're getting. The food was average - not bad, but not good. Would not recommend the chicken dinner - biscuit was gross and gravy was also gross. Would take KFC or Cracker Barrel chicken over this meal any day. Some of our order was missing, but we didn't care enough to ask for it. Music was good, but could hardly hear it over the screaming children - note that this place is VERY family friendly. Overall, reminded me of an Applebee's. read more

Food was just fine, the server Sophia seemed to think it was best to 'rush' us every step of the way. (It was busy when we arrived at 5 pm but by 5:30 it was quite quiet.) As I was holding the last 2 bites of my burger in my hand she actually stopped at our table to ask if I was 'still working on my plate'! As soon as we were done, she rushed to the table with our check & then hovered as my husband picked it up to look at it, & then still stood there until he handed her his credit card & then she ran the bill right at the table & hovered as he choose the tip!!! (Choices on the screen start at 18%.) We usually tip 20-25% but because of how 'rushed' we felt, Sophia got an 18% tip....and she never even said thank you! We were in the restaurant a total of 50 min! Even though we often stay at the hotel next door, we will never eat here again. Such rude service. came here with a group of 8, service started out ok, good turn around time when it came to waiting to be seated.. we had a pretty long wait for our food but somewhat understandable because the size of our party. When we received our food one of our meals had a blonde piece of hair in it. they took our parmesan cheese from our table to give to another family when we asked for another one they told us they only had 1 shaker. the bread was super hard and when we asked for a fresh piece the waitress rolled her eyes. We had 4 adult meals and only got 2 of the kids meals free. The service all around turned out to be really bad at the end. Will not be returning. read more

The baked haddock was over cooked frozen fish. They claim it was fresh. I have had lots of fish . The menu said the had broccoli but they did 't. The coleslaw was too sweet. The staff was friendly, the food sucks. I had the worst stuffies ever. read more

I understand that this isn't the fault of the person I spoke with, the people at the Wareham 99 are always nice - but I do think it's poor business practice & that's why I'm giving a bad review. Once a week I treat myself to dinner from the 99. It cost me $25. I order curbside, ( I have a 7 year old who hates the mask), and it just makes life way easier. On 2 separate occasions while ordering for pickup, I was charged double & had to wait for the second charge to fall off my bill and be returned to my account. They were always really nice about it, so I was always understanding. WELL - while ordering today, it said I put the info in wrong, so I did it manually & it said declined. This was the first time I had ordered and didn't have enough money for DOUBLE what I ordered. So I called the 99. I told them everything you just read & was told "I'm sorry there isn't anything I can do for you". It didn't matter that I didn't have enough money in my account to reorder my food, or that I had already experienced problems with their app taking too much money from me twice before. So, my ass is eating ramen tonight.....because 99 Restaurants expects loyal customers to be understanding when they mess up their money, but they can't even offer a "complimentary" meal to someone who is there every week & always patient with inconveniences. One of our favorite local restaurants. Located on Route 28 and Interstate 195. It's pretty busy evenings and weekends. An extensive menu with free popcorn! Plenty of good choices. Also does takeout's. The lounge side has lots of television's and pop music, maybe a tad too loud for some. The other part of this place is quieter. read more

My husband and I were looking for a place to have dinner on the 4th of July. Many places were closed so we stopped in to this 99's restaurant. We decided to eat at the bar which is quite a large bar. We were about the 6th couple that walked in right after one another plus there were at least 8 other people already sitting there. The bartender was phenomenal. She took her time but she got everyone's order for their drinks first. Then she went around the bar and took everyone's dinner order and entered it in the computer. She was so efficient it was fun to watch. Plus Wimbledon was on the TV what more could you ask for? The meals started coming out in good time. She did make a mistake with my meal but I had the soup first so I wasn't too concerned. The manager actually went into the kitchen and made my fajita bowl. It came out a little late but it was worth the wait. I was so impressed with the bartender and the manager I couldn't get mad. Things happen. I'll definitely go back to this 99's. It's nice to see people doing their jobs well. I think the bartenders name was Mia and I'm sorry I didn't get the managers/shift supervisors name. Hats off to you ladies! read more

Maybe just a bad day...but... I usually eat at this restaurant 3 or 4 times a month. Not just for the Red Sox kids meal promotions but because my little one likes to go there as a choice of places to eat out for lunch. This particular day we arrived and sat down and were told our server would be with us fairly shortly. And we waited what seemed a little bit longer than normal. It was slightly busy there this early afternoon but nothing seemingly impossible. Anyway, he arrived at the table, did not bring over popcorn (one of the little one's favorites) but, she did not miss it so I didn't push it. Asked if we would like drinks, we ordered those along with our meals (hot dog with orange slices. chicken kabobs, rice and grilled tomatoes) and an additional Caesar salad, and we rushed off to the restroom. We returned to our drinks and our salad arrived with barely a peep just the clinking of the plate on the table. The kid's meal arrived, incorrect. Mac and cheese instead of hot dog. He let us keep the meal and even wrapped up the mac and cheese to take home which was nice of him. The hot dog arrived a little later. The kabobs arrived completely fine. And I also ordered something to go, which was written in a text that I showed our server, and he wrote it down. We finished our meal, he took the plates, didn't ask about dessert but I asked about getting the ice cream sandwich and we got that, along with our take home stuff and the extra mac and cheese, paid and left. Got home, one of the parts of the take home meal was missing and to be honest it was just not an overall good experience. I went with a small group of special needs students for a class trip. The service and reception was great. It was amazing to see how well the staff treated our group with dignity and equity. Much appreciation. The food, ugh...I am a food snob and had a really hard time eating the mushy pasta and the dried out haddock on top. Okay, I get that Ninety Nine isn't edgy or hip -- they don't have their own microbrews or any of that, but the food is consistently good, the service is good, and they give you free popcorn. The last 2 times I've been here, I've had the same thing -- the hot lobsta roll. It's really freaking good, and I consider myself a connoisseur of the lobster roll. The price is right, and you get a lot of lobster. I prefer it hot. I subbed my fries for broccoli, no problem. My mom had their fiesta chicken salad, and it was delicious. Truly excellent new steak dinners including a flatbread that is on the menu as an appetizer but is served well as a dinner item. It has steak, red peppers and blue cheese and is no doubt the best item I have ever had here. read more
