I just went here today expecting that it would be a good place for nails, but the guy who did my manicure nicked me and started bleeding. It was a small nick but still you should be more careful and gentle. Also, the most painful massage when i had my pedicure, not also considerate about the temperature of the water as well. Stopped by this nail salon on a whim to get my gel nails removed and an impromptu pre Mother's Day mani-pedi. I was pleasantly surprised that there is a good nail spa so close to where I live! I was a walk-in and was immediately seated. Customer service is very attentive and the prices are very reasonable. It looks like a small family owned business and had a quiet vibe that I found very relaxing. The lady who did my nails was very careful after I told her about my fear of cutting back the cuticle. The service is considerate and very friendly. i especially liked the way they remove gel nails. Instead of using the drill to remove all of it, they use it lightly to get the nail prepped and then use the foil fingers to soak it for a good hour while I got my pedicure. I love gel polish but hate the process to remove them. This was so much better. I will definitely be coming back here instead of driving to the big scale place at the TC. read more

I got tips with the SNS gel. A man who I believe is the owner did my nails. when he worked on my cuticles several of them started bleeding. He says "you have a lot of skin that's why it's bleeding" 2 days later my nails are in so much pain and several are still bleeding. There was also glue on my hand and several places it shouldn't be. I have bounced around a few salons in Jacksonville and finally settled on 9a and Bay initially due to location (super close to my residence) but keep coming back because the staff is so nice! Worst experience EVER! I asked for pink and white ombré nails which is supposed to fade from one color to the next.. instead it did not fade at all so I just asked to put a color on top to hide the mess she made. Nails are very lumpy and sloppy, complete waste of my money. I'll never return. read more

I had high hopes for this establishment & from the start of my appointment it seemed all was well. I had not treated myself to a pedicure in quite some time so I was looking forward to some pampering time being a new mom. The salon was nice, ambiance great, staff pleasant, reception warm upon entry. My techs name was "Bon". Initially, he was kind and accommodating(provided me with complimentary winex2)--& even asked his coworker for a charger compatible to revive my almost dead iPhone. I think everything went left when I began inquiring if he could do an accent nail (ie some basic nail art like polka dots or chevron pattern). To his defense, he told me repeatedly that he could not do designs-- and that being a new salon they didn't have a lot of different options as in glitters/colors, etc. I suppose I just couldn't fathom how a nail tech really couldn't do nail art and/or just thought maybe if I found something really simplistic I could keep the tip in his pocket instead of splitting it with another person. I suppose I asked him one too many times and showed him one too many designs that he could not do. He eventually passed me off to his fellow tech named Doll(who was really sweet; also owner of the aforementioned phone charger). I also suppose I annoyed him because towards the end of our appointment his entire disposition changed towards me so much that he either forgot to include the hot stone part of my pedicure or just omitted it all together and proceeded to polishing my nails when I was under the impression I still had time to decide what color and/or accent design I wanted. When I reminded him that he had left out the hot stones (which was what i was looking forward to most) he just kinda disregarded what I said... and was going to still charge me for the pedicure that included the stone in the service. He was so noticeably flustered, it was quite remarkable and honestly rather embarrassing! Soooo..... if you aren't very picky and just want a basic pedicure-- I think this establishment will be a good option for you!! Overall I went from being relieved to be finally having a moment to myself to be pampered to feeling as though I'm not able to get what I desire to feeling as though I've annoyed someone to feeling embarrassed which was not a good feeling at all. Ultimately I wish if I could rewind the experience I would have just allowed Bon to polish my toes the color I chose and perhaps all would have been well!! I think my being demanding ruined the experience and through him off but it would have been nice for them to be able to accommodate my needs being that I wasn't asking for an intricate flower or 3D art on my toes that some patrons actually anticipate expect and request. ‍ read more

My mom and I came here for a mani/pedi. Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a nail salon.. they weren't very friendly. We both got half ass massages on our legs and arms. Also they didn't take the calluses off of our heels and when we asked for them to do it better they said we didn't need it. My foot also started dripping blood from the individual doing my pedicure scrubbing too hard on a soft part of my foot with no oil. When i mentioned it he just made me stick my foot in the water and decided that he wasn't going to take the cuticles off my toes because the bottom of my foot was bleeding. He was also VERY rough with both my manicure and my pedicure (hence me bleeding) and it just wasn't a good experience for either of us. We will not be back. read more

Probably the worst fill I've had in a long time. Extremely sloppy work by the owner. There is polish and acrylic all over my fingers. Some of my fingers look like they weren't even filled. I will have to fix elsewhere later this week when I have time. read more

My wife has gone here twice. The first time she was extremely pleased and excited that she had found a place where she was very satisfied with the work. However, on her second visit she was extremely disappointed. Both times she had an appointment with the owner. On the second visit she was greeted by a much crankier disposition than the first. As my wife told me, "He started at noon and perhaps he doesn't like to have an appointment immediately when he arrives." Her request for a pink french manicure was ignored and clear nail polish was applied. She was unhappy with the shape, but her concerns were not addressed to her satisfaction. She was also cut twice to the point of bleeding. If it was just a bad manicure, I would encourage her to give it another shot considering her first experience, but, given the deplorable customer service she received (and remember, this was the owner), I can only agree with her decision never to go back. read more

This is my second time to this establishment. The first time i opted for a pedicure and eyelash extensions. I was treated very nicely and was very pleased with the service so much that i recommended friends and colleagues. A few weeks later i had an event to attend and made an appointment with the eyelash technician (in person). The day i arrived for my appointment he was not there but i was assured he would arrive...after my pedi and 1hr later he never showed. I was told to try tomorrow at noon...needless to say he was not there at noon. But again told he was on his way. This is not the way a new establishment builds clientele. I have gone to this establishment three times. The first time was days after they opened and I was very pleased. The second time I went was ok. Not awesome. Not horrible. I started with one guy, but was passed to a different guy with no explanation given. The third time, however, was very unpleasant. I took my mother and my daughter for a mani/pedi. Because there were three of us (my daughter is six) , I scheduled an appointment. We arrived at our scheduled time and were immediately placed in the pedicure chairs where we sat waiting for over an hour. Finally, someone began working on me, then my mom. My daughter is as completely skipped over when new customers arrived. When I questioned this, I was told that she should be fine just playing in the water. I felt disrespected. I was still expected to pay full price for the service, but was not given the courtesy of receiving a full service. Although, this location is across the street from my house and extremely convenient, I will not return. The customer service is poor and my nails were just mediocre. read more
