The inside is on the smaller side, but there are enough tables to sit down and enjoy your food. You order right at the counter and then find a seat. The staff were all younger gentlemen when we visited, and every one of them was super friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We ordered three large pizzas along with the mozzarella triangles, which were absolutely delicious. The margarita pizza was also really good, while the pepperoni and cheese was just okay. The standout for me was the drunken crispy pizza--it was AMAZING! The crust was unlike anything I've had before. It was almost flaky and had such a unique texture and flavor. I honestly don't know exactly how to describe it, but it was so, so good. If I come back, I would definitely ask if I could get that same crust on another pizza. Overall, a really good pizza spot, especially if you're coming back from the beach and want something convenient, casual, and delicious.

I started with New England Clam Chowder (cup, $7), but since I really wanted to try the lobster bisque, I ordered a cup for takeout dinner the next day (cup, $8). The main attraction, whole belly fried clams (market price), were amazing! The serving was more than ample in number (I had enough leftovers the next day for a meal to go with my takeout bisque). The clams were perfectly breaded and seasoned, and came out sizzling, along with hot rustic French fries and Cole slaw. I don't believe I've ever had such a tasty serving of fried clams in my life. Service was attentive, and the dessert menu was too tempting to pass up (I had the turtle cheesecake, split between both nights). Well worth a trip!

The first time I was there, the woman showed me the roast beef to make sure it was exactly what I wanted for temperature. There must be a pound of roast beef on the large sandwich! We both had cold sandwiches so they were ready in about two minutes. We sat inside and waited for our sandwiches and it's a classic Pizza vibe. They always have some sort of game on the big screen and sodas that you can grab. I almost forgot to mention their Oreo M&M brownie. It's so giant, that you could eat it in four servings. Someone baked it from scratch and you can absolutely tell! This is right off 88 and a perfect place to stop on the way to her from the beach or in my case when I'm starving after Surfing. So glad we found it!

The lobster itself was delicious but the whole thing needed salt badly, including the coleslaw which was had way too much mayo. It was fine but probaly will not go back given all the many other seafood options in the area.

Growing up, my go-to was the chicken parm calzone (still a classic) but after having to go gluten free, I was thrilled to find that their gluten free crust is hands down the best around. I still get to enjoy my favorites, especially the buffalo chicken pizza with bacon and a side of bleu cheese. The BBQ chicken pizza is another must-have. The staff is always friendly and smiling, which makes every visit even better and delivery is prompt with food that arrives hot every single time. That kind of consistency is hard to find and so appreciated. Thank you, North End Pizza, for staying true to who you are and for being a reliable, beloved business in our small community. Ben Howarth runs both. Fair & Square started during COVID, almost by accident. Like a lot of people stuck at home with time on their hands, Ben began experimenting with sourdough. That led him to Detroit-style pizza, and he went all in. He read books, watched videos, tracked down every source he could find, and got on the road to learn from people who had already mastered the style. Then he came home and kept working, combining the style and substance of Detroit pizza with his own sourdough until he had built something distinctly his. And unique in Rhode Island as well. For about a year, Ben sold his Detroit-style pizzas through Friday pop-ups at Riccotti's. In June, the pizza got a place of its own. Because we wanted to scout Fair and Square and discuss ideas for our August Meetup, Lauren and I sat at the counter by the window and ordered two pies, a pepperoni and meatball. The crust is what separates this pizza. Fair & Square makes its dough each morning from a sourdough starter that is fed daily. It is thick, and filling, without being heavy. The bottom is crisp and fried from the pan, while the middle stays soft and open. There is enough sourdough flavor to cut through the cheese without taking over the pizza. Then there are the edges. Wisconsin brick cheese runs against the seasoned pan and cooks into a dark border. Some parts crunch. Others pull and chew. The darkest sections carry a little bitterness, which is exactly what the cheese and sauce need. The pepperoni was my favorite. The cup and curl circles crisped around the edges and collected oil in the middle. Thick stripes of marinara crossed the top, with Parmigiano Reggiano scattered over everything. The meatball pizza was richer. The house-made meatballs had enough weight and texture to stand up to the crust, cheese, and sauce. It was also very good. Fair & Square is Rhode Island's only sourdough Detroit-style pizzeria. Whether anyone else eventually follows their lead doesn't matter. This is the original and good stuff. There is something worth respecting about a family that has spent more than fifty years building a very successful business and still decided to try something new. Riccotti's already is a Bristol legend. Fair & Square has begun making its own case right next door.
