I stopped in to Fair and Square Pizzeria before going to the East Bay Bicycle path. I ordered a Margherita slice, and a classic Pepperoni slice. My Pizza was served to me at room temperature. The Goober who runs the place got bent out of shape when I asked him to warm it up. The slices when warm were just average. No bathroom after driving five hours didn't improve my experience. Thank U next!

I was in town visiting family and I already knew what I was doing for dinner, hours before they opened for the day. Fair and Square Pizzeria is on Gooding Ave in Bristol, on the edge of town so you can get your pizza while still avoiding the craze of the downtown festivities. I have been a long time fan of Riccotti's Sandwich Shop and had been watching Ben's journey with Detroit pizza unfold over the last year or so, when it started as Friday pop-ups at the sandwich shop. I have eagerly awaited the opening of the new shop for months. My moment had finally arrived. Inside the shop the ac was pumping (bless) and the staff was cooking up a storm. I got there early to check out the space. Blue and white checkered, with touches of Rhode Island here and there. You can see the steel pans stacked up as you wait for your pizza and you get to enjoy the delicious smells as you wait. My online order quoted my pizza being ready for 6:03 and on the DOT they called my name. I scurried around the corner and got dinner plated for everyone. We got a custom pizza with marinara and pancetta, plus the Pig Newton. The pancetta pizza was perfect. Light airy dough - the flavor of the sourdough coming through wonderfully, the crunchy cooked cheese edges, perfect sauce - savory, slightly acidic and herbaceous. The pancetta is top quality, the taste and crisp exactly how it should be. The Pig Newton had fig spread, arugula, prosciutto di parma and parmesan reggiano drizzled with balsamic glaze. This one two combo of sweet and savory knocked it out of the park. The brick cheese in contrast to the fig added a funky depth of flavor I really enjoyed. While I give Fair & Square two thumbs up, if you know me, you know it's my grandmother's opinion that matters most. Her verdict? "You can get this pizza anytime for me " so Ben if you could please be open Mondays, we would appreciate it because that's my usual day with her. For my pizza loving friends, don't let a silly thing like the bridge stop you from experiencing this high quality pizza firsthand. It's more than worth the trek to the East Bay! Come and see for yourself, you'll be quite pleased

I am now officially addicted to their "Usual" pizza haha..I have been at least 4 times in the last month and the consistency is true perfection and does not disappoint. The folks are super nice with great service and they even have a rewards program for frequent flyers like myself lol. Can't wait to go back!!

Wow! We got four pizzas for our pool party today and they were hot and ready in under 20 minutes. The pizzas are so flags and unique and everyone loved them! They were perfect for sharing, and it was nice to get a bunch to try. The new pizza shop is stunning and service was great. For a new shop, they certainly have everything down to a science already! Yum!!

This is definitely the best pizza Bristol has to offer. And they will text you when the pizza is ready.

When I saw that BHOP was participating in this year's Lord of the Pies, I was so happy to return here after so many years. Bristol House of Pizza definitely didn't disappoint! The pizza was just as I remembered it - crust was crispy around the edges, lots of cheese, flavorful sauce. It was really good! Service here is order at the counter. The person who took our order was friendly and efficient. We ate in the dining room, which has doubled in size since the 1980's, and it is attractive and comfortable. Especially liked the tables by the large windows looking out onto State Street. BHOP also always had great sandwiches, and although we didn't try any ourselves during our visit, the sandwiches that we saw at other tables looked amazing. Pasta and entrees are available too. They also have beer, wine and cocktails! So good to be back in one of the restaurants I remember from growing up, and really great to see that the food and service are still awesome!

Our reservations were for 6pm and we arrived about 15 minutes early and were seated promptly as the restaurant was not busy. To drink, I ordered the citrus rush, which is grapefruit vodka, oj and cranberry juice. It was really refreshing and tasty without being too sweet. For my meal I ordered a cup of soup and the baked Italian fish. My son also ordered a cup of soup and spaghetti and meatballs. My husband ordered the shrimp florentine, which was a special. We waited a while and noticed that another table nearby that arrived later than us received a bread basket and their appetizers. We never received a bread basket and never received our soup. They finally brought our entrees. I told her she could just take the soup off the bill since we never received them. My fish was pretty good, although a bit overcooked. The sauce on top was very good. I really liked the spinach on the side. My husband's meal included feta, which he will not eat. This was not explained when she described the specials and he asked her twice what was included. He scraped off the feta and proceeded to eat the rest. My son said his spaghetti and meatballs had a strange taste that he didn't care for. All in all, we found the experience to be a bit underwhelming.

I ordered the $32 lobster roll (photo attached) with a sweet potato fry upcharge, plus a $9 cup of chowder. For that price point, I expected a true lobster roll, but the portion was small and felt heavy on filler rather than lobster. The flavor was fine, but the value just didn't match the cost. My total was over $60 with tip for a simple lunch. I didn't complain at the time, and I'm hoping this was just an off day, but I wanted to share my experience so others know what to expect. With such a long history behind them, I'm hoping they return to the quality they're known for.
