Actually pretty good! I am SOOOOOOOOO SORRY for the crazy film crew that was with us. I AM NOT CRAZY LIKE THEM! But, they served us really good. the food was good! Got the homemade pot roast sub, onion rings, and a bacon cheeseburger. Everything was exceptional. The pot roast sub will definitely be making a regular appearance in future orders, bursting with flavor and a large portion of pot roast. The onion rings were good, real onions instead of mince. The bacon cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and topped with a ton of thick bacon. Didn't get dessert but will next time since they all looked really good when I picked up my order. read more

Funky vibe and fun group of workers ! I like this place as we continue to search for good eats on Aquidneck. Ez to order over phone, way ez parking, and stuff was ready (ok, the cheesy garlic bread needed to be added but they were quick). This is Very good pizza close by ... (we are a Pepe's family and rarely make it to Warwick for just pizza). The Italian calzone was delish and BIG. The "sizzler" pizza tasty and delish. The cheese garlic bread was a little mushy due to the travel home but would be great after a wee bit in the toaster oven. My hot tuna grinder with hot peppers was yummy (Yo, mo' Peppers is better!) . The bacon pizza for the toddler was bacony and perfectly greasy (in a good way). We have tried almost all the Aquidneck pizza places ... some are poor, some are very good and this place is in the very good category! I think this is the most underrated pizza place in Portsmouth. Sure, the outside sign isn't the fanciest. But Steve's pizzas and salads (especially ask for a Greek salad) are MUCH better than other places on the island and I think their prices are slightly more reasonable. Some good deals too- spend $30 and get a free small cheese pizza. I hesitate to tell too many folks, but I feel strongly this is the best, most underrated pizza joint in town! read more

There is a distinction between a grinder and a sub I don't know what it is other than geographic location, maybe semantics but I do know that the chourico grinder is delicious! The chourico grinder comes on a perfectly hand crafted lightly toasted bun, with a spread of tasty tomato sauce, a generous amount of thinly sliced seasoned chourico Portugese sausage, onions, peppers, and melted provolone - superb!!! We decided to share a large grinder and the person helping us was so nice by slicing and making it with half with cheese and serving it on separate plates without asking. My family and I were driving around the area and decided to stop by a takeout restaurant for some lunch. We tried a few places before this one, but everywhere else seemed too busy and we didn't want to wait, so we ended up here since it had the least number of cars outside. We walked in and were greeted by two employees (a female and a male-one may have been the owner). We were looking to order 2 grinders and were in the process of deciding which ones when the male employee made a rude gesture at us with his hand to hurry up. I was completely taken aback by the disrespect he displayed since it's absolutely the wrong way to treat any type of customer that makes the decision to spend money at your establishment. We ended up ordering 2 steak grinders which were not good at all. I couldn't even finish half of mine because it tasted stale. Very good pizza. Found it while searching yelp for pizza places. Went two nites in a row it was so good! A little greasy but just get a lot of napkins to soak up the grease. Crust is pretty good. Steve's has been around for about 40years! It's been consistently serving up the same style of pizza and grinders during that time. Steve's to me is a style of pizza that is indicative of SE New England area. It's a combo of NYC greasy cheesy goodness but with a thicker crust. I've never had a bad pizza there. It's not artisanal, so don't come here if that's what you want, but if you want a solid quality pizza, this place has it. Also the grinders are quite good too. Personally I go with the meatball, but I occasionally go with the chourico and peppers. If you're not from the area, chourico is a Portuguese sausage, so if you order it, you'll be getting a local specialty. You can also get chourico and chips grinder too. It's chourico and french fries. If by now you don't know what a grinder is, it's a toasted sub. Anyhow, Steve's has been here for around 40 years and they're food is the reason why. read more

Well tonight visiting aquidneck island, decided ordering some subs... my friend and I ordered a sub. How disappointing we had more bread than ingredients. Never had meatball sub, that was so dry, no sauce, meatballs cut in half. The wings were advertised as Hot, but it wasn't hot n the chicken was salty.....heard the pizza is much better ..stay away from sandwiches! read more

They have the best grinders and Pizza that the island has to offer... We stopped at Steve's Famous Pizza on the way from Newport--as everywhere else was closed on Labor Day. But we stumbled on a gem...the subs were delicious (a steak bomb and chicken cutlet with all the toppings) and very freshly made. The pepperoni pizza is also really good--but I'd go back for the subs. Great value, really nice service...I think the owner served us, and she was quite pleasant--and chopping onions herself, so clearly very involved. It doesn't look like much from the front, but the food, service and clean surroundings are excellent. read more

Their pizza tastes good but smaller and more expensive than other local pizza places. Wings are weird. Beaded with herb breading then they put buffalo sauce on, strange. Most things are far more expensive for far less, but they are nice. Wish they were more competitive in some areas. read more

I've always loved Steve's, but last night completely ruined it for me. Not only did we have to wait an hour for a delivery, and after an hour with it not being delivered we called and they said it would be here soon. When it finally got here we were missing part of our order, they offered to deliver it but we were NOT waiting another possible hour for the rest of our dinner. So we left our dinner to go pick up the rest of it and when we got to Steve's it was still not done. There was no compensation for the trouble we went through just to have dinner. By the time we got home the rest of our food was no longer hot. Seeing as we placed the order at 6:10 and sat down at almost 8pm to eat. This was the most boring pizza I have every eaten. I am new to the area and trying to find a good pizza should be fun. The crust was soggy, the tomato sauce had no flavor and neither did the onions! My mistake was buying a large pizza which meant I had leftovers - usually a good thing, right? Not so this time. I will probably throw it out - what a waste! I'm looking at all of the other reviews and maybe I just had a bad experience, but I'm not sure I want to chance another disappointment. Too expensive for experimentation. read more
