We were on our way to another restaurant close to Railway Pie and so happy we stopped here instead. We walked in and the 2 servers were very welcoming. Jessica waited on us and she was awesome. If you go to this quaint beautiful little train, you will not be sorry. We had the wings, which were the best wings I ever had . There were three of us and we all ordered a pizza. The meat sweats, the dillyo and the shroom. All three were amazing. The crust is a crispy sour dough and is phenomenal. I cant say enough about this place, it's a hidden gem. Fun rail car turned restaurant. We dined here last night. We had two different pizzas. The "roni" and the "baller". Delicious. All of us went with the thin crust which was perfectly done. The inside of the railway car is small, long and narrow . There are 6 booths and a bar that serves about 8 people. They do have an outside area with picnic tables you can sit and wait at . They have one bathroom that is about the size of an airplane restroom. But it's a very cute and unique. Service was great. We were immediately greeted by staff and were lucky enough to have a booth that was empty. They have a small drink menu. I tried their peach sangria and their strawberry Sangria . Both were good not too sweet. The strawberry one was my favorite because it's was a little more balanced and had a sweet/tart taste. Our drinks came very quickly but our food was a little slow to arrive. It was over 30 minutes before we got out delicious fried mozzarella with pesto, red sauce and crostinis . The fried mozzarella was in the shape of a square patty. It was nice and crispy on the outside and the mozzarella was supper gooey on the inside. It was one of the best fried mozzarella I have ever tasted. For dinner we tried the Detroit style pizza. It arrived almost 45 minutes after we ordered. The cup pepperoni was so flavorful and had a nice spicy kick without being super greasy. The pizza while being a thick crust was not heavy but instead light and fluffy . Despite the long wait for the food , which was due to only one person cooking. I believe it is still worry of 5 stars . This restaurant had been open for only week and for a new restaurant they were superb! I can only see them Improving and getting better in the future!!!! Cozy vibe, friendly service and delicious food. The pizza's we ordered (New Haven style and Detroit) were both perfectly cooked and you can tell it's all healthy ingredients and made with love. The Grilled Avocado w/ Feta app was so good and the Caesar Salad was PERFECT... and sooooo big. The size of my head. I need to return asap to try the Chopped Italian Salad. Great place. My wife and I had the Caesar salad which was HUGE with an obviously in-house made dressing as well as in-house made sourdough croutons that were both fantastic. The Greens were also garden fresh. The pizza was cooked perfectly with a thin sourdough crust. The pepperoni are the the cup ones that turn up and burn just the right amount at the corners and have just the right amount of spice to them. The staff was great! Fantastic personalities. My daughter and I had the chance to try Railway Pie while visiting the area recently and it was legit! We checked it out on Yelp first after driving past and decided that we should visit early to be sure to get a seat without having a long wait. Our plan worked out perfectly and we were seated right away. We started with the fried mozzarella appetizer which is made in house and the cheese itself was to die for. The sauces were delicious as well but I think my daughter would have preferred them be served on the side. For the pizzas I did the Detroit style pepperoni and it was delicious. My daughter did the classic crust just cheese and she enjoyed hers as well. The real highlight of Railway Pie is eating inside this restored train car. It is really cool and very beautifully done. It isn't huge with only a few tables and a small walkway but that adds to the atmosphere. Our server was also super nice and very welcoming. Came here last Sunday, ordered ahead a cheese New York style and vodka sauce Detroit style. Online ordering said 20 min and I arrived at the correct time. The woman at pickup said it would be out shortly. There were other people waiting at the time. After 45 min of waiting for my pickup, I asked how much longer... and it looks like online orders hadn't been fired. Twenty minutes later, I finally got my pizza only for it to not be the correct order (no Detroit style). The woman took my name and said they would reach out to me to "make it right" but no one ever did, which is why I waited a week to review. I was really excited for the pizza, the New York style was good but that pie was for my fiancée. We ended up with two New York styles and I was so hungry I ended up eating it. If all went well with my experience, I would give a 4.5 because the pizza was pretty good and reheated well the next day. But the lack of communication and over an hour wait past the original pickup time for an online order is crazy. It seems people that called their order in had less of a wait, so I would recommend doing that. read more

LOVE the pizza! Checked out the new spot in Somerset and what a great find. Got takeout and it worth the wait, really delicious thin crust pizza, excellent price, and great customer service. Tried calling last week and couldn't get thru so ordered online but when I went they had it down. They were very helpful, phn calls were coming thru and you could order right at the take out window. Took a peek inside and they did a fantastic job revamping the train and definitely coming back with family to sit down and enjoy the ambiance of having dinner on an old fashioned train, so cool!! They even had an outdoor patio area with tables but not sure if they are serving outside yet. They just opened a month ago so I think folks need to give them a break it takes a minute to set up a new business and they probably got an incredible demand of customers because their food is so good so they just had to adjust. Stopped in last minute. Got 1 traditional pepperoni and a Chicago meatball and ricotta. Got the fig and whipped ricotta appetizer. The food was delicious. Ok now for the bad part. It was 15 degrees out and we were in a tin can. So the heat had to come on constantly. Wouldn't be an issue but every time it turned on it smelled of sewer. Was surprised at the price of the total. Fist things first, the renovations that were done to the train car-- we love them. You've really improved the space and made the train car look more desirable. You can really tell that you all are invested, and I have so much respect for you. So far, my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed your pizza! We got the chance to try both styles of crust, and enjoyed both very much! The Detroit style was the wife's favorite, but I'll always prefer the New Haven style. (It's the gold standard for me. I've had it all. Nothing like walking down Wooster Street in New Haven). We really enjoyed your fig & pig pizza, as well as the "Yo Jimmy." Everything tasted great, flavors were well balanced, and the ingredients were quality. The ham! The fig jam! The vinegar peppers on the Yo Jimmy, brilliant! Exactly what it needed. The garlic sausage! Yum. Making great pizza is a lifelong journey, and you're already off to a fabulous start. I'm hopeful--and honestly excited--that you and your crew keep learning, experimenting, and perfecting your craft as time goes on. A couple of lovingly constructive notes: 1. Appetizer was the grilled avocado with feta cheese and hot honey with bread. Great balance of strong cheese and sweet honey. My girlfriend ordered the special white pizza with 5 cheeses New Haven style. I got the pepperoni cheese Chicago style. The rail car is really cute. The service is very good as is the food. My criticism is it's extremely expensive for what you get. We ordered a double pepperoni & a sausage, mushroom & ricotta. If what we got was actually a double pepperoni, I would hate to see the regular. Not much on there. The other pizza was worse. Not one mushroom, no sausage. We basically got a ricotta pizza. 1st time going there, I ordered a 3little pig pizza ,thin crust, it was burnt on the bottom, and very little meat on top, was not good at all, I also ordered a cutlet cypress sandwich, the chicken was too thick,was soggy on the bottom of the roll, call in order they said 30 minutes, got here in 25 minutes, must of waited about 20 more minutes outside waiting to pick up order. I think they just use the dough from a NY style pizza but don't stretch it out. Seems Detroit pizza is just a blob of dough that will never fully cook through and it was pricey at over $25. OMG! First of all my wife and I were excited about this place opening. We tried to call in an order but nobody answered and we were directed to order online, ok. We went to website and it said minimum order was $40. We order two deep dish pizzas and it came out to $44 dollars, more than we would normally order for just two people but was wanting to try gourmet pizza. We bought it home and open box to good looking pizza but was tiny for twenty bucks apiece! The pizza wasn't sliced so we sliced it into four pieces and it was ok but way overpriced in our opinion! Place looks real nice inside, space is well planned, I had the Pleasure of Lu Lu as our server, very excited to help us with our meal! We started with a delicious Ceasar salad, fresh and well dressed, then pop pop I ordered their Italian Beef sandwich, was very satisfied, truly a Taste Bomb, seasoned well and cooked to perfection! For hrs. I was told! Then ordered the Roni Pizza, Detroit style, (thick Crust) tasty not doughy. But very flavorful! Finally pizza to enjoy, right here in my home town! A bottle of Chilled Pinot Grigio completed the meal, we left Full and Content, and Will definitely be back to do this Again! We tried both styles of pizza, both were very good! Just small for the price. Which is the reason we are hesitant to go back. Also their hours are extremely limited and right now hoping they'll open for lunch soon! You also have to order early in advance which is tough because my family and I get in the mood where we crave pizza and want to go pick some up but we can't do that at this location because the slot pick up times are either full or we will have to wait hours. Hopefully this business does well so they can expand their kitchen and make ordering more accessible and simple for their customers. I think this location is holding them back! I also like on their website how they have an online ordering system but it's hard to find. There's nothing labeled click here to order online it's just a picture of a pizza in the top right corner that I just tried clicking to finally order online. I also wish there wasn't a $40 minimum to order online. That's another thing that's stopping me from returning. My final recommendation is to update your website to make it more informative clean and clear so it's more usable and accessible to everyone. read more
