Worst customer service experience I've ever had. Called this morning to ask if the location would still be open because of the chemical spill a couple miles from the location. I was told I'd get a call back with an answer. Shortly after I get a call saying "if you come right now you can pick up the keys". After getting dropped off doors were locked and only the manager was behind the counter. She immediately tried telling me to leave because they were closed but I explained that I was called and told I could still pick up. After a couple minutes of going back and forth she finally let me in but not until after a "I'm sorry your rental is more important than my health". I responded with the fact that I was called and told I can pick up the vehicle, I wouldn't have gotten dropped off other wise. She ignored that and just continued being rude. After finally getting the keys while she was on the phone in front of me she said "yea some people just don't understand the health impacts of chemical spills". I responded with another "you guys called me and said that I was good". She then said no one called me and told me to leave. Attached is a screenshot of the incoming call from U-Haul telling me to come get the keys. I wouldn't have had any issue going to a different location for pick up. We paid almost $700 to have a hitch put on our car here. At the time of the install, we also asked for a lock for the hitch. When we picked the car up, the lock was already installed, which was fine. But when we went to unlock it, the tiny ball bearing that is required for the lock to work rolled down our driveway! The design of the lock is horrible! So my husband went to return the lock, but because we didn't have the packaging (which was clearly discarded by the installer), we were denied a refund! It was horrible customer service! We will NEVER go there again. We recommend you don't go there either so can avoid being treated like that! read more

Good service. They are very busy on weekends and customers need to be patient. The staff handles the customer with care and explained things well. We had to have the wire assembly installed as our other one became damaged a few years back. U-Haul is very good overall, from their call center to receiving the actual product. Used them for an out of state move. I don't know why so many low stars other than the wait. Expect to wait even though one has an appointment. If waiting is too long it's usually because a customer ahead either had too many questions or didn't know or understand what they needed. read more

Today,1/16/26. HORRIBLE SERVICE ! I had a very disappointing experience at this U-Haul location. The staff was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. When I asked for help extending my rental, instead of assisting me, they spoke to me disrespectfully and made the situation unnecessarily stressful. At one point, the behavior felt harassing rather than helpful. He stated he will CALL THE COPS on me. SERIOUSLY !!!! What makes this even more frustrating is that I ended up calling U-Haul Customer Service myself, and they extended my service in less than 3 minutes without any problem at all. This clearly shows that the issue could have been resolved easily if the staff had been willing to help instead of treating me poorly. Customer service should not make customers feel uncomfortable or talked down to. Came to fill a small propane tank and the employee yelled across the lot something in audible in an irritated tone and even looked irritated when he saw us walking towards the propane fill station. Had an appointment today at 10:30 am. This appointment was confirmed twice by the manager. Were they ready upon my arrival? No. Did they install my vehicle hitch promptly? No. Was the work done by the time they said it would be done? Absolutely not. Did they care? Not at all. Service sucks! No place to park. They put vans and trailers in all of the customer parking spots. . I parked in the one empty parking spot, and they made me move and park in the middle of the roadway through the parking lot. Then proceeded to watch the employee, get his own personal car, and Park it in that spot. The staff was nice and friendly but the van (1st van) was infested with ants I called to inform the staff and they told me to bring the van back and they would get me in another one right away, which they did and the 2nd van did not have as many ants but it was enough to be on my hands and back and got in my purse that was in the passenger seat. Time was not on my side I didn't have time to take the 2nd van back and the people helping me move said there were ants on the black padding in the back of the van so I'm pretty sure ants got in all of my stuff. Take that information and use it wisely. read more

I needed a hitch for my SUV so I could use my bike rack. I went to a couple of the big name places that sell racks and install hitches and they quoted me North of $500 just to get hitch installed. U-Haul did it for about $350. The hitch looks great, the installation looks solid, and it was a national brand hitch put in without any U-Haul branding on it. We made our first trip to a U Haul fort propane because they are open 7 days a week. It's clear they are used to filling RVs. It was reasonably quick and at a fair price. The suggestion is to come after the morning rush especially on weekends. read more

Arrived at U-Haul location with 2:00 appointment at 1:59 - walked into office and found it empty. Walked back out and was abruptly passed by a person going into the office. I looked at him and noticed his shirt said U-Haul so I concluded he worked there in some capacity. He ignored me as though I was invisible so I followed him inside. I told him I had a 2 O'clock appointment for trailer wiring and he said we are way behind today, he said if you would leave me alone I can get started on the next customer. This U-Haul employee was unquestionably rude and dismissive of me without explaining how long a wait or any other options. I was taken aback by his condescending demeanor and frankly I was offended. Absolutely horrific experience. I moved from California to Missouri and booked online to pick up a 20ft truck out of the westminster location on garden grove blvd. The night before I got a phone call from U-Haul telling me they didn't have a truck available for me at the location I had previously booked and paid for, but they had a bigger truck available further away at the Anaheim location. The customer service representatives were extremely rude and not concerned in the slightest that I was in distress regarding my cross country move. If fact one of them even laughed at me when I expressed how concerned I was. I had a deadline to meet. Time was very important and when I tried to express this it was as if they enjoyed my agony. Just the worst experience I could have ever imagined. I should have just paid for one of the more reputable moving services. I will never ever use U-Haul for any of my needs nor will I let any friends or family have the same experience I did. Please please stay away from all things U-Haul. read more

COVID19: Open and it was the hottest weekend of 2020. I don't rent trucks often but, had to move my kid out to her college apartment in this 102 degree heat. I booked a 20ft truck online with extra pads, furniture dolly and a regular dolly. The staff inside and out were all very professional and efficient. Quite a few customers dropping off and picking up. But, my check-in with online reservation took about 5 mins. If you need extra boxes and packing supplies they have it all inside at very reasonable prices. The truck had great A/C. It was very cold and blasting. The truck was quite clean considering that it gets used a lot. Heavy duty loading ramp was great to have. The truck had towing mode on it and the brakes were a little squishy but worked great. The ride was quite comfortable for a truck and had seating for 3 in the cab. Did I already tell you the A/C was great and it was 100 plus outside? Definitely a gas guzzler. But, that's to be expected. Spent 29.65 total on regular unleaded for 9.67 gallons. Make sure you top off the tank when you take it back. The surcharge to you for not filling it back up (they give you the truck with a full tank) is quite high. Overall, this would have been a miserable day moving because of the heat. But, get a few college guys to help your college daughter move. And rent your truck from this U-haul facility. I hope your move is as smooth as ours was. ps...I enjoyed driving the truck so much I may change my occupation to be a professional truck driver. read more

THE worst customer service this side of Hell. Three booked appointments through the call center, of which two failed because of unexplained glitches, only to be told when I arrived with trailer in tow at the third appointment, that there were other appointments after me, and my scheduled appointment was not enough planned time for the installation I needed. Uhhhhm, I don't make the appointments, your call center does! My appointment is at 1:00 and it's 1:00. Richard, the Hitch DICK installer, says, "It's not my problem...Oh, and since you have your own parts its gonna cost $584 to install the brake controller and another $584 to install your weight distribution bars." Mind you, the call center quoted $148.50. (Receipt attached). He never once looked at my parts or tried to rectify the mishap scheduled appointment. There were no trailers in line waiting, I was the only one there, and he absolutely refused me the service of my contract agreement. I would not leave Richard alone with my vehicle or trailer even if the service was complimentary. The dude was just bad juju. He brushed me off like any misogynist would. No recommendations, no suggestions, no friendly assistance of any kind. I've always looked up to UHaul as the "go to" hitch professionals, but with an employee like Richard making decisions I will never step one foot in that hell hole again. read more

We were very pleased with our experience today. We rented a truck it was easy to upgrade to a bigger truck with ramp. And we needed that extra room too! Dan was great at getting us set up with our U-boxes. He was very informative about how to load them as far as distributing the weight. After loading two u-boxes we were exhausted and Dan brought us a cold bottled water without even having to ask. I would definitely recommend this UHAUL to everyone I know! I'm torn on how to write this review because my issue isn't with U-Haul but with one of their employees. Background- I was helping a friend pickup large furniture nearby this location. It was a good deal and great customer service on pickup of a van with the gentleman working that day. It's really only a short distance for this trip so the turnaround time was quick. My problem here was the checkout... My friend arrived to drop off the van and I get there shortly after for pickup. My friend had an uneasy feeling about the woman who did the checkout. She was described as "spaced out" and "not fully there". Typically in normal situations my friend would leave after dropping off the keys, but my friend wanted to make sure there was a receipt. A digital copy of the receipt was asked for several times to be sent via email while patiently waiting outside. It never came. It had been much longer than anticipated of a wait so now I'm asking my friend what the hold up is... my friend goes back inside and asks for a printed receipt. I said that when I reserved I was not told that the hitch needed for that particular trailer was not included and now I'm told that they don't rent them....that if I want to rent the trailer I will have to BUY a hitch that I would use ONE TIME??????? They get an A on pleasant customer service, easy parking, nice store. They get an F on product knowledge. UHAUL is a truck rental, storage and towing company. You would think that employees would know about Towing/Receivers/and Lock Pins. This is not rocket science and nothing has changed in many years. I came in to pick up a UHAUL branded rattle free lock pin for my hitch receiver. The employee was very pleasant, but when I approached him with it and asked him if he has used one of these before, he surprisingly responded, " I saw you looking at em, and I was afraid that you where going to come over her and ask me about it....sorry, I don't know about it." I got it anyway and figured it out at home. Not a major deal, but I was surprised that he did not know how to use this Towing device. read more

Returned trailer about 2 hours later but they were too busy Helping the 2 other customers that were buying packing supplies and dumb shit to terminate my rental. Let's start with the good: I needed a hitch asap, and they made it happen. Now the bad: They installed the hitch and on my drive home realized that the exhaust sounded different. I went home did a little research and found that it may be connected to the work that was done. I called them up the next day (Saturday) and was told to bring it back. When I did I was told that there was no one there who could help me and to bring it back during the week. I called to make sure I could get seen and was told that their schedule was wide open and to bring it in. When I got in I was then told that they didn't touch the exhaust, but maybe when he moved the muffler it may have disrupted the gasket. He would not look at my car and told me to take it to a muffler shop. On top of this one of their workers kept his mask around his chin. I'm not a doctor, but I don't think it works like that.
