customer service there is great! they had a cart we could borrow, along with a dolley to use, plus the one we had, so moving everything into storage was quick and efficient. we switched/upgraded to a larger storage, and they showed us all that were available--and they were great/patience and agreeable to reasons we thought maybe not this one, until we found our "goldielocks" :) we're happy being here and it's close by and at a reasonable rate. read more

After going to a few other storage places to price things out, I chose A1. Billy and Steve made the mundane process of storing my stuff very fun! They made sure I was clear on all the fees (which are, by the way, the cheapest I found in the area), gave me a free disk lock, and had me laughing the whole time. The facility is clean and in good repair. There was a family moving some things around and Billy knew them by name. You can tell that the staff here genuinely care about their customers. We came to A-1 after an awful experience with the storage place across the street where we originally had our reservation. Tracey helped us get a unit quickly as she understood we were in a time crunch and had already wasted precious time dealing with the rude staff across the way. In the year that we rented from A-1 we were always treat well, with respect and occasional jokes were exchanged. Mainly they really knew their clients which is rare these days. We are looking to rent again short term and will be returning to A-1 regardless of "special offers" being advertised around the area. My husband and I moved this last month and had to put quite a lot of our furniture and items in storage. Billy was super helpful in setting us up, even when we decided last minute to go with a bigger unit, he was nice enough to switch all the paperwork and show us the unit. Would recommend this place to anyone/ everyone. Billy makes this storage place feel almost home-y. They care about their clients- I was always late on payments (don't do that) and while legally they could have auctioned off my stuff, billy e-mailed and called me personally to get a payment. Like I said- don't make him do that- but in a dog eat dog world it's nice to know some people still care about the patrons of their businesses. I live in coastal oceanside and it is really close by, super easy to get to. While most storage units are a pain to get to, this one is very centrally located. 10/10 would use again. read more

Even if it was a simple search for them to see if I'd previously rented, they know how to make your experience personal. Customer service consists of the 10 minutes of filling out the papers and the rest of the A1 experience is on the grounds. I received their newsletter today, another great feature of this business, and in reading it saw their review website and decided to post my yelp review to it, which I had written immediately after I rented my unit. I was actually anxious to write.it However it was not here. So I will try to recreat it. The experience I have had with A1 has been one of the, if not the BEST INTERACTION I have ever had doing business with anyone. I managed a small facility years ago, for my dad, and also worked at a large facility for a short time so I feel this review has some grit to it. The location, perfect for me, the size too. Most of the others didnt offer that size. The hours, both office and gate also the best. I was casualty looking on line for a unit in the Oceanside when I ran across A1 and although was in a hurry to go to an appointment I decided to CHAT ONLINE. I believe the reps name was D Ana, and am now trying to remember cause its been over a month now so. I apologize if that is not correct. She was AMAZING in that I had numerous questions, which she answered quickly and accurately. Even is she was not sure she left for a few seconds and came back with it, Felt like I as talking face to face. I had made a mistake in the location I wanted and she was extemely patient and understanding. She talked me into actually SIGNING UP ONLINE rather than reserving it even though I didnt have much time, She told me it would take just a few minutes and she would stay online to help if needed; that it would save me time once I got there and she was absolutely right. She contacted the facilities, two of them to make sure the access for me was the best, because one was less expensive, The ONLINE PROCESS was QUICK and EASY to understand. ARRIVING AT THE SITE JUST AS GOOD. Gave my name to this bigger than life man named BILLY who asked my name and immediately welcomed me and grabbed the already completed contract. He asked for the ID went though the signing and told me I would be out of there quickly. Loved, loved his accent and made me feel very at ease, He assigned my code and we were off to c the unit. It was a GREAT LOCATION. He showed me how to use the FREIGHT elavator and opened the unit for me. He noticed the latch was a little off and told me that would be fixed, which it was. However amazing all this was up to now NOTHING COMPARED to when I returned to use the unit I was gonna have to get out of the car to use the code but the GATE SEEMED TO MAGICALLY OPEN. BILLY ALREADY RECOGNIZED MY VEHICLE AND OPENED IT FOR ME, A SERVICE THAT REALLY MAKES ONE FEEL LIKE A PERSON WHO IS IMPORTANT and not just a number. That happens time and time again, even when STEVE, the other manager is on, even though he had never met me, TOTALLY AWESOME! read more
