I come in to pick my clothes up exactly at this time I was given and the lady can't find them. Then says can I come back. (I'm leaving for a cruise the next morning) then I find my clothes because she can't and she just tells me she was too busy and forgot. No thanks!!!! After the owner harassed me on yelp, I will add that she fixed one piece for free. I had to wait extra. One piece that took her 2 min, but she was too busy to have done on time. And my other piece, she needed to order buttons even though she has a week and originally told me she could do it. I would have rather paid and had both done on time. read more

I took my bridesmaids dress here to be altered and I got called two weeks later to ask if I could wait a little longer to pick up my dress because she was very busy. I said no problem and picked it up a few days later. When I got there I tried it on and the length was perfect but it felt as if it hadn't been taken in at all at the top. I showed her and she said she took a lot in and I had lost weight. I hadn't, but she said she would redo it so I let it go. A week later I came back and the dress was still too big. I had her measure the dress without a bra but even with a padded bra I can pull the dress down. The dress is about an inch too big in the chest and maybe three inches too big at the waist. She told me I shouldn't have lost weight and if she does it again I'll have to pay again. After $140 and three weeks my dress is too big and not fitted to my body at all. With the wedding in a week I am having a hard finding anyone who will alter my dress on short notice. read more

A little late in reviewing but my sister got married this last year and we got her bridal dress and my bridesmaid dress altered here. Could not be happier with the results! My sister's wedding dress was mostly fine lace and mesh but A+ Alterations was able to fit it to her perfectly! I've had pants altered from this lady before and a bridesmaid dress and she made the dress too long and the pants too baggy. I never thought about reviewing her on yelp till I went in with my sister. I went in with my sister who had gotten a dress altered and the lady said my sister had just lost weight even though she hadn't, and the dress was literally falling off of her. She refused to alter it again for my sister unless she paid her more and when I asked if her business was on yelp she told me "no". When I found her on yelp I asked if it was her business and she told me she would sue me if I reviewed her on yelp and started screaming at me to get out of her store. Her professionalism is not appropriate and I would not recommend her. read more

I'm not okay being over charged last minute and not even get a phone call. Our bill was 40 &a she added $12 to it. That's not okay because why would They have our phone number and not even bother to call that they made a mistake. On top of that she cut the suits pants too short. Never coming back! I left a dress that needed alterations for hemming, taking off excess fabric and fixing the bust. I left the requested pick up date for the following Friday. The cost was $120 which I thought was a bit much for a $60 dress but I figured I had no other choice. I received a call from the shop owner on Thursday at 11:00am saying that I needed to get my dress within an hour because she was leaving for the weekend. That was extremely inconvenient for me as I work at home and my babies had just gone down for a nap. I tell her how inconvenient that is for me. She says she will leave my dress at Verizon or the hair salon for pick up... mind boggling how that would ever be okay. I ended up just waking up my kids, rescheduling a conference all to just pick up my dress. And since they don't take cards I also had to go to the bank. She stood outside and handed me my dress. She did take $20 off of the cost. I didn't even try it on in front of her. Once I was able to try it on the hem was too short, the bust made extra fabric sag down, where the bust met was crooked and not centered with my chest. It looked horrible. I reached out to her to let her know and I never received a response. This place has horrible customer service, charges far too much and does not do professional alterations. Save yourself money of having to buy a new dress and go elsewhere. read more

I was so surprised when I got my jacket home after they shortened the sleeves. I could have done what they did, rather than pay money. All they did was turn up the end of the sleeves to the inside and hem them, making the end of the sleeve very thick, rather than professionally shortening the sleeve and the lining separately. Previously, the jacket had 3 buttons and buttonholes before, and now it only has 2 buttons and 2 buttonholes, with the 3rd buttonhole folded up just inside the hem. The end of my sleeve is now 4 pieces of material thick, instead of the original 2 material thickness. Very unprofessional! read more

So I want to start out by making sure everyone knows that this is a correct five star review. My daughter fell in love with a dress for her prom that was a size 10 and she is a size one. Making a size 10 dress into a size 1 dress and have it come out perfect Could only be accomplished by a true Tailor/seamstress. Because of all the negative reviews here on yelp we were greatly concerned while waiting for the dress to be completed. The dress was completed on time as promised and it's a perfect fit. We were actually told by a five-star yelp reviewed Tailor that it could not be done. That it would not come out right. My daughter was devastated. To top it all off the $180 dress was nonreturnable. We stumbled upon a plus alterations and decided to give it a try. Again we just pick the dress up today as promised after 6 PM and it is absolutely perfect. Would put zero if I could. She's overpriced, does low quality work and doesn't get the work done when says it will be done. I have used her in the past because she is local and took over the original alteration shop I was going to and let me tell her prices are all over the place. Maybe business is bad so she needs to make ends meet but u never know what u will be paying. The price on your ticket when u leave will not always be the price u pay when u pick up your items. She is also closed on the weekend. She should post her hours on the door for Saturday as there is nothing stating she's closed that day. read more

I had a great experience here. I had a white lab coat, dress pants, and jeans altered. Simona was very knowledgable and patient. We discussed what I wanted and she altered everything to my expectations. I wore my newly altered jeans out the door after I picked them up 3 days later. The newly altered seams were more comfortable than the original. My jeans were $20 to take in the thighs, my pants were $25 to take in the seat and thighs, and my coat was $30 to take in the shoulders and sides. Overall, I'm very satisfied. read more

I had a vintage style fully laced beaded Casanova gown that I had bought "off the rack" from another store (who's name I won't mention here). That store told me "oh yeah we can brings that dress in 4 sizes to fit you perfect!" They told me I was saving money. Well I wasn't. My back piece was beaded and laced all button up to be see thru. I came to Simona at A plus alterations after receiving three outrageous quotes on altering my wedding dress. Most places take advantage of the fact that your wedding dress is probably the single most important dress a woman will ever wear and they know you will pay almost anything to get what you want done.. But with A plus you do not have to compromise service, and or quality for price. Her prices are fair and her craftsmanship is amazing. I purchase a dress online that was tailored to my measurements, for the most part my dress fit very well. I need the bottom to be hemmed to fit my heel size, the breast area to provide more support, add a bustle to hold up the back, and a slight extendtention on my sleeves. Magic is the word that came to mind when i tried on my dress after Simona did her thing.. What she did was pure magic. She place a built in bra, side wire and slightly pitched the front of my dress to shape my breast. This was a challenging task with a backless, lace dress. The bustle was perfect to dance in, and my length was so comfortable to walk in. I gave her a short timeline she finished everything in two weeks, after 2nd fitting she made 100% sure everything was perfect before i walked out the door she is a perfectionist.. I went to A+ alterations recently to get a suit fitted. The woman who operates the store wanted to make several unnecessary adjustments to my suit, reaching a total cost of $110! After price shock, I came to my senses to only have the slacks and sleeves adjusted. When I informed her of this, her price change several times finally reaching $40. Once I agreed on the price and received the suit I was quite pleased with quality of work, but felt a little unease due to price inflation, lack of consistent prices per service, and having to pay cash only. read more

Took a dress here for my daughters prom to get altered and we were told it would be done on Monday. Then it was Tuesday, then wednesday. We would be okay with a delay if the dress was done correctly and if the lady there wasnt so RUDE! The dress beading wasnt completed and when asked about extra material and the extra beads to finish it ourselves she LIED and said there wasn't any and she threw it away! Well, the man there went back and got the extra material for us and the beadings!!! We didnt even get a discount for the delay or the incomplete dress! All I can say is amazing!!! I was referred here by my mother, who had her wedding dress altered by the owner and she is the sweetest lady! She's passionate about what she does. I took in a sequence cocktail dress very last min and she finished it the same night! She closed the front of the dress half way because it was gaping too much for my taste! Not only was it 20$ but she stayed after hours to finish it despite how busy she was. I thanked her very much because she does NOT have to do that, and that's where she is set apart from all the other tailors! This woman does not like saying no to anyone and people take advantage of that, but none the less she is very personable and genuinely cares about her customers and the service she provides.
