BAIT AND SWITCH: The owner gave me a quote on the phone and said the price will not change one bit when the tech arrives. The tech arrived and gave me a higher price and said that I was getting a deal with that. The owner said that he asked about the garage door size on the phone - I have a recording and he did not ask that question at all. He based the price on the spring size alone and did not ask any other questions. BEWARE OF THE BAIT AND SWITCH. Called for repair and techs took a cursory look at my LiftMaster opener and told me "parts weren't available for a unit that old." They then proceeded to offer to install a new unit for $800 to $1000. Turns out LiftMaster sells the needed part, for $130. If A Always doesn't want to service older units, just say so up front. Our garage door motor had been having intermittent problems opening and closing over the past month. Replaced the battery in our remote, but that did not solve the problem. Finally, the motor totally gave out and received several bids from good garage door companies which included Always open Garage Doors from our neighbors and best friends. Spoke to Mark and he provided a quote. He price was $450 less than the closest competitor. So, we set up an appointment with Mark and he said one of his sons would be taking care of the job for us. Today, Ray called to inform us he was 10 minutes out. Ray arrived at 8:30 this morning (the appointment window was from 8-10 AM) and introduced himself and went over what I had spoken to his father about. In just under two hours, he had installed a new LiftMaster 3/4 hp (our old one was a 1/2 hp LiftMaster), a new keypad and adjusted and lubed the garage door hardware. He also installed an additional wall button/opener as we have an additional side door that we enter our garage from and needed to replace the button already there as it wasn't compatible with the new LiftMaster motor. When Ray was finished, he programed two additional remotes as well as going over all of his work. He also showed us how to program our keypad and answered all of our questions. The new motor is has a soft start/close feature and is extremely quiet. Love that! I'll tell you what, Ray's one of the nicest and professional technicians I've ever met. Well done Ray! First time one of his sons came an installed new HD springs and told me that my old Genie garage door opener was old and tired, which they were correct but i held it out. This is my first review on Yelp but I felt compelled to write about these guys. This is not the first, or even second, time I've used their service. This is the third time, and our third house, where I've had one of the guys out for garage door work. We've had a consistently amazing experience each time. Mark and his sons are courteous and fair. They went out to repair a dented garage door when someone, I won't mention who, backed into a closed door at our first house. They repaired a broken spring at our second house, and now they've just completed installing 2 Liftmaster WLED openers at our new house. I initially emailed to ask about pricing on the garage door installs and got a quick response from Zach. He spoke with his dad, Mark, and was able to get me even better pricing. They arranged to come out quickly to get the job done for me even though they normally service my area on the weekends. Zach drove all the way to North Peoria from the East Valley this morning and kept me updated on the traffic situation to let me know when he would arrive. He made quick work of the install and cleaned up after himself where it looks like he was never here. I couldn't be happier with the openers and the job Zach did. We had a problem with our garage door and weren't sure if it was fixable or if we needed a new door. A friend highly recommended Always Open so we called. They were out in NO TIME to fix. Avoid this company like the plague. When my opener failed to work, I called this company and they initially told me that a sensor was set improperly. After shelling out $150 for their tune-up and parts (which they ALSO blamed for the problem), the door seemed to be fixed. OR SO I THOUGHT... The next morning the door did not work AGAIN. I called for a service once again. The repair tech stared at the device (literally) and immediately claimed that the motor was shot. Now that is tantamount to an auto mechanic looking at a hood of a car and telling me that the engine was blown! The technician could not articulate how or why the motor was blown so I offered to purchase a new opener and they could install it. They refused. This company would only install their OWN materials, and at a substantial increase in price-They claimed that Home Depot equipment was garbage even though at my prior house, my Home Depot purchased opener lasted the 10 years I lived there. Ultimately, I saw through their scheme and was not about to be fooled again. I called another company and they told me that the motor was fine. All it had was a blown circuit panel which cost $80.00 as opposed to the $480 that A Always wanted to charge me for a new system. This company gouges customers, has incompetent technicians, and cannot be trusted. Try Smokey's Garage door. I was referred to them and they did OUTSTANDING work at a fraction of the cost. read more

My door spring broke this morning and locked my car in the garage. I read a couple reviews on Yelp, including a bad one and decided I'd take a chance on their $25 off Yelp deal. Wow! As good as it gets! Highly Recommend. Last week, our garage door jumped the track. The door was crooked, partially hanging off the track and the track was bent. We were sure we had ruined the door. We fired up Google and started calling around. Always Open Garage Doors was the only company where the owner answered the phone. He scheduled an appointment for that afternoon. Zach arrived right on time. He quickly assessed the damage, recommended that we repair the track and replace the rollers. He quoted a very fair price - and immediately went to work. He repaired the bent track, replaced our worn out rollers with new heavy duty sealed ball bearing rollers and adjusted the spring. He even took the time to correct installation mistakes we'd made when we installed our Home Depot garage door opener, graciously replaced a broken light sensor with new one and neatly rewired our amateur wiring job.
