Agreed. Worst Customer Service!!! I had these guys scheduled to do carpet in my house during a remodel. They were a no show on day one and promised they would be finished the next day, in one day. After working with Ryan several times in the past, I had a poor experience with him in March. I was finally able to purchase the slab for a table but he wouldn't bring me to the showroom that day. He charged my credit card and sent a picture the next day which was not up to my standards. Thankfully he refunded my credit card easily. But I was still stewing that I wasted my time. I finally decided to call today. I have some free time and could go out there next week. I spoke to Vasi, one of the managers. I asked if he would consider giving me a discount for my extra trip and if he would confirm they had a slab in stock before I wasted more time. He wasn't willing to do either. Nice showroom. WORST service. Spoke with two different salespeople (especially the granite guy) on a Monday morning who were extremely unhelpful. I'm guessing they dont work on commission or are not hurting for the business. I obviously am not returning even if it would be costlier to go elsewhere. Renovating is a difficult process and I'd rather go with someone who is helpful and informative to avoid potential pitfalls than deal with rude, unhelpful people. read more

I'm an out of state customer who put in an order for a product to be shipped quickly in order to finish a floor. They had the product when no one else did for quick shipping (the only plus). Prior to ordering, I called and spoke with online orders manager who assured me that I would receive product by a certain date with a certain shipping price/speed. The order did not arrive on the stated date or in time for my floors to be finished. An email asking for a portion of the shipping cost to be reimbursed was answered by a nasty phone call where the "customer service rep" did not nothing but insult my intelligence and and interrupt me by screaming at me over the phone when I tried to relate how I remembered (and recorded on paper) the initial phone conversation. Product availability - excellent Delivering a product when said they would - failed Customer service - nonexistent and rude when it was attempted. I'll never use them again. read more

I had A-American install carpet in my basement. Really great experience. Ryan (sales agent) came to my house to do the estimate and brought the carpet sample I liked. The contract was easy. In less than two weeks the carpet came, and we agreed on the installation date. We did quite a bit of shopping around for quartz countertops, prior to arriving at A-American Custom Flooring. We looked at the big box home improvement retailers and the smaller "discount" home design stores. What set A-American Custom Flooring apart was their selection of quartz, competitive pricing and, most importantly, their customer service. Customer Service was woefully (and surprisingly) lacking at the other stores we explored. At A-American Custom Flooring, Ryan took the time to understand our style preferences, explain countertop differences (pros/cons), and guide us towards options that were more cost effective. Ryan even walked us through the stone yard in the back so we can see the whole range of quartz they had available (not just the samples in the store's main floor). He located the perfect slab for us in the back, aesthetically it was what I wanted and fit into our budget. Even with all my countertop prerequisites checked, I was still a bit hesitant about the purchase. I was not pressured to make decision that day. I went home thought it over and was ready to buy when Ryan made a follow-up call a couple of days later. The new countertops enhanced our kitchen remodel and really brought the space together. We selected a natural looking gray veining in white quartz counter and backsplash for our kitchen and adjacent powder room. Alex Salagean of A-American Contractors & Supplies Inc did an excellent efficient job if helping us select our quartz slab, accurately measuring our cabinets, fabricating and installing the countertops and then measuring, fabricating, and installing our backsplash. Some seams were unavoidable, but they are almost invisible. Alex Salagean was helpful, but it took longer than expected to finish the job because our GE slide in dual fuel range has a most peculiar configuration at the rear. Overall, we are very pleased with the results. I'd recommend Alex Salagean of A-American Contractors & Supplies inc, with the advice to be sure to have your general contractor follow up to ensure that all final details are handled appropriately. Our general contractor was invaluable in prodding appropriate remediation of a tiny detail in the behind the stovetop installation. read more

Last May 2013 I was 8 months pregnant and we were closing on a house. We really wanted to replace all of the floors within the house prior to moving in as it would be very difficult to do so afterwards, and time was of the essence as we knew the new baby would be arriving any day. We ended up purchasing our carpeting and hardwood from A American. For the carpet, there was not time or opportunity for their people to come in to do an evaluation of how much carpet we needed. But we showed them a floor plan with the square footage for each room and I gave them my estimate of the square footage needed based on the rooms and the hallway. The service person reviewed the floorplan in detail (for at least 10-15 min and did his own calculations) and said that he agreed with my assessment and would order the carpet. We were thrilled because it was a really high quality carpet that came in below budget. The day that it was installed, the installers told us that we were short a significant amount of carpet - i.e. an entire bedroom's worth! (about 20% of what we ordered). It turns out that the carpet only comes in certain widths (i.e. 12 feet) and a couple of our rooms were only 9 feet wide. So therefore, 3 feet of every roll would have to be scrapped. The manager who did the original assessment could see very plainly on our floorplan that that was the case, but he did not tell us that we would need to order 20% extra to account for the scrap material. So, when the installation was done we had matching carpet everywhere except for one room missing. Of course, we wanted that carpet to match the rest of the house, so we had to order more. The cost ended up being well above what we had originally budgeted. I talked to the manager and I talked to his supervisor and no one was even willing to give us any discount despite the fact that they could not help us come up with an accurate estimate (and he was EXTREMELY rude and implied that the situation was completely our fault). He told us that they do not give estimates based on floorplans, but they did in our case, so that was their error. If that's their policy, then they should have stuck to it. We felt completely backed into a corner in that we had to order the rest of the carpet from them so that it would match. It turns out they weren't even available to install the extra bedroom's carpet until at least another week and that happened to be the day I had my baby. So, my dad had to sit an our house and wait for the installation while the rest of us were at the hospital. The carpet is nice, but we probably overpaid for it. And the padding is worthless. Regarding the hardwood floor, we purchased Century Cherry Orchard 3 1/4" prefinished hardwood. We were told it would be good quality and that doing prefinished hardwood is much quicker (but just as high quality) as having hardwood put in and then sanding, staining and sealing it. Again, we were very crunched on time, so we decided to go with the prefinished. Never again. This flooring was installed professionally (by another provider) in our living room and dining room. Over the past 10-11 months we have noticed many chips and cracks come up in the floor. Not just in between the wood planks, but also in the middle of wood planks in some places. One day I was walking across the floor and literally a splinter of wood came up, and tore my sock and made my foot bleed. Since I now have a 10 month old baby who's crawling on the floor this concerns me very much! I was complaining about the floor to a friend who told me that most flooring has at least a 1 year warranty. So, I called the manufacturer and they said any claims need to be made through the place that we purchased. I called A American and told them of my issues. The person there said that this flooring only has a warranty for the finishing but not for the actual wood. He said our problem is definitely due to the humidity level in the house and there's nothing they could do about it. Our house has a full house humidifier that is working just fine. The manager was not willing to help us at all or even send someone out to our house to review the problem (obviously he felt his 2 minute diagnosis over the phone was enough). We spent thousands of dollars with this company and do not want anyone else to make the same mistake. read more

Exceeds expectations in every way! Pricing, service, product quality, follow-up and follow-through ... the one true bright spot in an otherwise painful renovation project. We worked with Junior and he couldn't have been more professional, courteous and competent. He beat out the price of a place that bills itself as a wholesaler by more than $3/SF for our wood flooring and after checking multiple sources, A-Am proved to be by far the lowest price around. And when you're installing nearly 1,500 SF of new flooring that amounts to thousands of saved dollars. That earned our 1st star. Junior kept us in the loop on our product delivery and when we learned our original flooring installation contractor wouldn't do the job for his original quote, Junior came through with a great referral. He followed-up with us regularly up including after final payment and after the job was done to ensure our satisfaction. We also used A-American for our quartz countertops and they were once again exceptional in all regards. They beat our first quote from the alleged "wholesaler" by almost $3,000 (and A-Am's quote including a new stainless steel double sink) as well as quotes by several others. Alex was in charge of this and did a precise job measuring and the installers did an absolutely beautiful job on both the counters and our over-sized island with waterfall legs. We highly recommend A-American and would absolutely use them again for any home renovation project. Terrible service. I went to ask them about waterproof flooring, one girl didn't have a clue, so she went to ask another guy (in the yellow t-shirt) who didn't even care that she was there asking him. Basically the two didn't put any effort to answer any questions. The girl came back saying that they don't have them.
