first of all, John is a good guy. I lost my key last month, including the remote, in front of my house. I'm afraid that someone may use that key to drive my car away, so I want to change the lock on my car. However, when I went to the dealer, they told me to pay at least $450 only for the lock, the remote needs $360, and the labor fee is another few hundreds bucks. That's too much. Then I found A&A Locksmith. It cost me less than $200 to change the total locks: ignition lock, two door locks and trunk lock. And less than $80 to re-program the remote on the car. My 2007 Subaru Forester door latch quit working from the outside, but I could open it from inside the car. Then I tripped the child lock lever and could not open it from the inside or the outside. My go-to garage wanted nothing to do with it. My favorite Subaru dealer in Santa Cruz said they could fix it but would likely damage the door panel. After I made an appointment with them I thought about a locksmith. John came highly recommended. John just completed the job in repairing the worn out ignition lock on my Honda Odyssey. I could get the key in but could not turn it. Turns out that this is a fairly common problem with Hondas. John arrived on time and completed the job in about an hour, which was less than what he estimated and the price was great....about 1/3 of what a dealer would have charged. I would highly recommend him. Update 12.7.15 Had issues with the ignition key again so I called John. He spent 4+ hours making it right and he did not charge me extra. Called because we lost the keys to one of our cars and the spare was in the car as a lock for the trunk access on the inside. Met with the guy within 20 min of calling. Our car alarm was a bit tricky to turn off but regardless he kept trying and eventually got the car to turn on with the spare without setting the alarm off. Couldn't open my Honda Accord from the outside manually with my car key on driver's side. This Honda only has one key entry. So I had to get AAA yesterday to get me inside my car then drive around town today with the doors unlocked. Not only did John fix the problem, he found out there was an actuator issue (which I'll need to fix in order to resolve the key fob problem). He apparently fixes a lot of these car door issues.
