Holy moly. Where do I start? It is 10 am I am on my way to Santa Fe from El Paso and I get hungry. I look up yelp and I see A&B drive in and I think sure I'm down for that. Track it down order a taco and a green chili burger. (I'm not eating all of that am sharing). I look around get the small town burger joint feel I recognize from my hometown Cleveland, TX. I take a seat in the nice covered outdoor seating. We wait like 5 mins and food is ready. Of course we are the only people eating burgers at 10am. First good taco good burger. Now wouldn't drive more than 30 mins for it. However, if I was passing by or knew I would be I would plan to go here. The chilis give the burger a good kick. The salsa is great. Hands down better than chain drive thru fast food. I wish I had tried a few other items but again it is 10 am. There is always next time. read more

Nice little hometown drive-in restaurant. My wife and I had the green chille cheeseburgers and my son had the regular cheeseburger. All three meals where combos and came with fries. The burgers where all delicious. The green chili had a little spice to them but not much. The fries where ok nothing to special but edible. I'd have to say it's a place you have to try for yourself. It wont be a let down but theres so many options you will have to give it a go

Got tired of the usual chain fast food places, especially since there are only three of them in TorC and all three have managed to mess up our food every time we eat in TorC, which is more often then one would think one should eat in a small town in the middle of nowhere. TorC is situated about 1/3 of the way up to Albuq., making it the perfect place to stop for lunch on the way up. It is also a lunch destination after spending the pre-noon and noontime at Elephant Butte Lake. So I did some research, found a few places, but decided to try out A & B Drive In. I had the Relleno Burrito smothered in green and it was da bomb! Best smothered burrito I'd had in decades (since one of my favorite places closed in Albuquerque). The Relleno wasn't soft and mush, but had a nice fried "edge" (somewhat crispy on the outside) to it. The green chile sauce was perfect. My husband had the green ground beef burrito. I didn't care for his as much, but he seemed to like it ok. Wish I had found this place sooner, as it's been around for over 20 years! Beware that it is a little pricey for a FF place. There isn't much competition so... that's the price you pay in a small town. They've been in business a long time, so it shows that the locals keep it going and they are willing to pay the price. Also, their drinks are really chintzy. What they call a "large" is smaller than a medium at other places. Their medium is a small. And the drinks are really overpriced even if they were actually the size stated and not a size smaller. But despite the negatives, this is the only FF place we are eating at in TorC from now on! (we'll just bring our own drinks, lol). They have both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as drive in parking (much like sonic parking), although I don't think they wait on cars like Sonic does. read more

We visit this town often and always stop in for lunch. The hamburgers are delicious. Their Drive thru is not quick but it's all fresh food made to order so it's worth it. Crunchy tacos are a good choice too, This Mom and pop store has been around for a while and I can tell why. Great prices for what you get read more

First time here ...ate lunch after Riverbend Hot Springs! It was really good. I ordered gizzards which were great & toast & fries were yummy! They were lightly battered somewhat tempuraish. Disappointed they had no gravy. My boyfriend got the cheeseburger & he said it was Good! Got an ice cream cone that was vanilla hand scooped not soft serve...nice surprise. Very fast service...shakes & malts got good reviews from our group. Tables outdoors were very dusty but we ate our food on our trays. Will definitely go back!!! read more

We came to A & B because just about everything else in Truth or Consequences closes at around 8 pm. They close at 9 pm here. Some restaurants even close at 2 or 3 pm! Because of this, I call T or C the sleepy town. A brewery was open but we didn't want beer. Service is very slow here! All we ordered was a chocolate shake and malt! It took around 15 or 20 minutes to get it. They were nice but really slow. We weren't in a hurry to go anywhere so it didn't bother us that much. They have burgers, burritos, tacos and more. If it took that long to get a shake, I don't know how long it would take to get a burger or something else. I only saw one person ahead of us. The shake was good but there was nothing spectacular about it, either. I guess I would come back if nothing else was open. It definitely wouldn't be my first choice if other places are open. You can sit inside or outside. Yeah so three stars for an average place. read more

Upon driving up, it looks like any old drive in, we pulled up and ordered 3 chicken tacos, the green Chile cheeseburger and a corn dog. It took them about 7 minutes to get us our food with no line, so you could tell that they make the food fresh for each order. As soon as i grabbed the bag, the smell of tacos hit me and I could tell they were gonna be good. The chicken in them was still hot off the grill and juicy, making the tacos that much better. The green Chile on them was also a very nice touch. I was also impressed with the burger. It was nice and juicy still, and i could tell the patty was hand made and it was a good size. As for the corn dog, it was probably one of the crispiest corn dogs I've had in a long time, crispy golden brown and they did not skimp on the batter, that's for sure. We stopped here for lunch during a road trip. I noticed a lot of the locals ahead of me ordering the green chile cheeseburger, so I also followed suit. Being from California, this was my first taste of New Mexico green chile. The burger was great. It had the perfect amount of heat, was generous in size, and the flavor combination of the juicy burger and green chile was awesome. The service was spot on: friendly, fast, and efficient. We had our dog and enjoyed our meal under the covered picnic tables outside. Skip the usual suspects like McDonalds and Sonic in this town and get a taste of the local flare by eating here instead. read more
