Yes. Do I? Yes. Does business take longer every now and then, yes. And you know what that's okay. I don't wanna lie and say i've tried every single tailor and alteration place in town, but I have been to the majority of them and I am constantly looking and listening to who does the best work and reviewing their work from other people, and I am telling you this is the bet place in Washoe County to have any clothes altered, hemmed, worked on. What I love about this business is they make it right. I have been here more than twenty times, I'm me, and I keep going back because their work is impressive. That Good. Not only that they're honest transparent, they will call you back, and honestly, we're talking about getting your clothes altered it costs what it costs, it is not all cheap. We all know that. But you would think their prices would be right at the top, which would reflect the excellent work they do, but their prices are not at all the highest in town or even close. This was the third time my alterations were not ready on the promised date. When I came to pick them up, my claim ticket showed one pickup date while her records apparently showed another. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or taking any responsibility, she immediately became defensive and focused on why the mistake wasn't hers. When I returned to pick up my completed alterations, I made a genuine effort to put the situation behind us. Instead, she remained dismissive. I asked, "Are we okay?" She waved me off and told me that next time I should find someone else. Mistakes happen. Repeated mistakes can also happen. What matters is how a business treats its customers when things go wrong. After three missed pickup dates, what I'll remember most is not the tailoring, but the defensiveness, the lack of accountability, and being told to take my business elsewhere.

Unfortunately, our recent experience was extremely disappointing & honestly shocking. I brought in a brand-new dress months ago for cleaning. When I recently took it out of the plastic wrapping to wear for the first time, I discovered a large stain that was not there before. I had never worn the dress prior to that moment. When I first called, there was no answer. Carmen later called me back, but after listening to my concern for less than a minute, she interrupted to say she was not working that day, that she was busy, & that she would call me back later. That call never came. On April 20, 2026 at approximately 11:55 AM, my husband & I called her back & had her on a three-way call. As my husband calmly tried to ask why she never followed up or addressed the issue, she immediately became defensive. Without attempting to resolve anything, she abruptly decided that she would no longer accept us as customers after all these years of our loyalty to her business. What makes this even more disappointing is that this isn't the first concerning interaction. On a recent visit, she told my husband that many of his suits were "too old" & that she would no longer clean or press them. We respected her concerns & handled that conversation calmly & maturely. My husband even agreed to replace older suits & continue bringing in newer items. However, when we raised a valid concern about a stain on a brand-new dress, an item that had been left in her possession for months & only returned when the last time my husband & I picked up his clothes she informed him to take it home, we were met with defensiveness & dismissal instead of professionalism. A good business is built on accountability, communication, & respect for its customers. Long-term, loyal clients should not be dismissed out of frustration or sensitivity when raising a legitimate concern. Instead of resolving the issue, the owner chose to react emotionally, refuse responsibility, & end a 25+ year customer relationship. It is also worth noting that services are priced at a premium, yet customers are often pushed toward full dry cleaning rather than simple pressing, increasing the cost significantly. In this case, we paid a high price for a service that resulted in damage & no accountability. As an observation, over the many years we have been customers, there have been no noticeable upgrades to equipment or delivery vehicles. We were also informed that another location had closed. Customers can draw their own conclusions from that regarding how the business has been managed over time. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this cleaners. I decided to try this business based on the positive Yelp reviews. While it's important to me to…read moresupport small businesses, I was also tired of the long wait times at the more well-known alteration shops. As others had mentioned, Teresa was easy to reach by text and very friendly. Her pricing was also reasonable ($15 for shortening pants, for reference). The turnaround time for taking in a pair of pants and taking in the sleeves of a dress was only 1 week. The location on Bible Way was a bit hard to find at first. Note that she is now in suite 40, not 22. Also, don't expect a fancy store front or anything of that sort. It's a small and barebones operation, but there's ample room for getting fitted and trying on your garments after the alterations. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was a minor mix up when I went to pick up my items. I showed up at the time she noted on my receipt but she was not there. However, we texted to arrange a different pick up time and that went smoothly. I'd suggest texting to confirm before heading down for pick up since she's not always at the shop. Overall, though, the quality is good for the price, and I'd happily use Salas Alterations again in the future.
