I needed a new refrigerator and wanted to go to a small business in town rather than a big box store. Refrigerator was delivered on a Friday. On Monday morning, I walked into the home office below the kitchen and the paint was peeling off the walls from a massive water leak. The plumber who responded confirmed the refrigerator water line was installed incorrectly. The office had to be ripped down to the studs from water damage, and our kitchen was in disrepair for months. A&D and/or their insurance company blame a contractor. Do yourself a favor: don't ignore the slew of reviews citing poor customer service. Our tale had to do with delayed and damaged products for install (fine, it happens; and they were at least communicative and apologetic at this point). Then, after we upsold ourselves by adding an appliance to our order, we got hit with an undisclosed plumber's bill at install. Mark's response when we called to verify the 3rd party plumber's request for payment: "Well the plumber has to get paid!" Yep, and the salesperson should be prepping the customer and disclosing all costs. Like others, we really want to shop local - but next time that will be Yale Appliance for us. read more

Have had consistent issues buying appliances from them that didn't end up having a short span of life and/or poor service and installation quality. Most recently bought a new washer, after the one we bought from them died within 5 years. They installed it with the hot and cold water backwards which resulted in multiple clothing items being shrunk. We contacted them and they just blew us off, didn't want to come out and fix it, and didn't care. Thanks, no thanks, not using you again. I want to buy local but this is ridiculous. read more

The first problem I called about was with my Viking range that I have had for less than 3 years. I called and asked if they provide service, which they said they do but when I said something is wrong with the temperature of the oven, they just gave me the phone number for Viking. After buying many appliances from A&D over the years, after my last purchase I will take my business elsewhere. Multiple issues: they did not sell me enough hoses for the washer, and did not alert me to what I needed to connect the dryer. This meant the washer and dry could not be fully installed, and I had to go out and get parts, and then move the appliances into position myself. They also damaged my hardwood floor while delivering the refrigerator, and did not connect the water supply because I did not have the right connector - again no advance notice as to what I needed. Lastly, they damaged my hardwood floors while delivering the refrigerator. It took the owner a day to call me, seemed hesitant to acknowledge anything was wrong, and dispute his promise to fix the issues never contacted me again. I enjoy supporting local small businesses, but not ones who forget what customer service should be all about. Sadly the bad news I hear from other about this business is true. read more

I am writing this review 3 years after purchasing my appliances from A&D. We worked with Mark, who was always courteous and polite when working with us. He highly recommended the Electrolux Washer and Dryer which he said he had at home. Trusting his recommendation, we went ahead and purchased the set. Fast forward 3 years, and we have had nothing but problems with these appliances. The dryer has broken down twice and the first time it happened, I was told that because it was outside 1 year time frame so they wouldn't do anything. The same was true for the built in Kitchenaid Microwave Oven that we purchased from them. I've had to replace three appliances now. My recommendation to anyone is to make sure you do your due diligence, even if it means paying $50 for a consumer report account. Don't just blindly trust the salesman's perspective. It will likely cost you more in the end if you do. read more

Poor service and sloppy installation make this a place to avoid. There are several more reputable dealers in the area. I was surprised at how poor the service was - usually small business owners work hard to make up for higher prices. I had to hire another firm to come out and fix the mess they made. read more

I am so disappointed with the in-home service. They outsource this. That never works as well as having the service center within the company. I wished I knew that before I bought. It is too hard to get an appointment as "they have to be in the area" ...not sure how that helps the customer. When you do get an appointment you really do not know what your getting. A person shows up in a white van and that is about it. Yale is the poster child for in-home service when you buy from them. Lesson learned. read more

We ordered a new range (dual fuel) and over the counter microwave from A and D. They beat the price of another local appliance store by about 300$ on the range and they also got us a deal on the microwave. The plumber they recommended was top notch. Overall we had a really great experience using A and D appliance. Very professional operation, they use great technicians and you can always reach a live person when you call the store. read more

Had a really good first time experience with A & D. When I came in Mike alerted me of an upcoming sale so I was able to get better pricing, this beat another appliance store I just visited. The delivery team went above and beyond when they moved an outlet to my stove lower so the stove did not stick out. Installation of the microwave and dishwasher went smoothly as well. Purchased new washer & dryer combo. The pricing was good. The installation was awful. It was almost as if they threw them in place and said "good enough." Shelving was ripped out and simply left on the floor. It was and remains a real mess. If going elsewhere was an option, I'd do it. read more

I cannot rave enough about our experience with A&D in purchasing an entire kitchen package for our recent remodel. Our contractor urged us to bypass the big box stores and go local when buying our appliances. My husband and I spent 45 minutes talking to Mark Manning, and in that time, he knew exactly what we needed and when. Since he also had a good relationship with our contractor, they coordinated much of what had to be done. Mark was incredibly knowledgeable and supremely helpful. He responded to my emails immediately and worked hard to find a kitchen package that fit our budget. I searched online to make sure we were getting the best price possible, and we were for sure. When our dishwasher arrived with a tiny dent on the face plate, I was reminded of why we chose A&D. I called the store, and within two minutes, a new dishwasher front was ordered and will be installed (for free) within a week. Knowing that they service all of the appliances they sell while under warranty gives us a immense peace of mind. I can only imagine trying to track someone down at one of the home-improvement stores to let them know about the issue we had with the dent. If time is money, you'll save a ton going with these guys. Purchased a BOSCH dishwasher in December. The price was much lower than SEARS or LOWE'S. Installation was the next day by a Master Plumber who had to custom fit the dishwasher under the counter because the cabinet had an odd layout, It took about two hours at no extra cost. I replaced all of my appliances in 2009 and purchased most of them from A&D. I had a very good experience with the sales department. Recently I had my first service experience with A&D and it was disappointing. On a positive note there was a major repair issue with the washing machine and it was successfully corrected. However, among several problems with the service call was the fact that the machine was pulled out onto my carpet for the repair without placing anything under it. They called out to me to provide a towel when it started leaking water and after they completed the job and were gone I found a circular stain, that looks like grease, on the carpet. I also found black handprints in numerous spots on my painted walls and trim. I attempted to provide this feedback directly to the manager but a week later he has not returned my phone call. I will not use them again for service. read more

Purchased a Maytag Stainless Steel refrigerator end of December 2012. Got it?, the whole family coming over for a holiday celebration and the old fridge croaks. A&D supplied the new fridge quickly and at a reasonable price - all is well. In July of this year we noticed rust marks around one of the handles and the freezer compartment light wouldn't always come on. Called Maytag service and was initially told that these were not Warranty items. HA - DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. Worked my way up the Maytag chain of command and they grudgingly decided to work on the light. Maytag eventually replaced the light switch. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. The door and handle were another matter, well no duh, the cost was substantial. Profits are way more important to Maytag than loyal customers. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. To make a long story short A&D started in on the problem, and in the end replaced the door. I had to replace the handle. They did a nice job. Oh, by the way my recommendation is: DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. read more
