I reached out to A&D for help with a clogged shower on a Sunday. Debbie was very helpful in scheduling an appointment for the following day. There was a follow-up call to let me know that they were on their way and they arrived on-time. Everything was done with politeness and professionalism. They even answered all my silly questions from a homeowner that doesn't know much about plumbing. About a week later it became apparent that the drain clog which we thought was cleared had one more surprise in store for us. I called A&D for a return visit and they worked it out again. All has been good since then. They also reworked a bad drain pipe and installed a new faucet in my kitchen as well as installing a new faucet in my utility sink. These were jobs that I had been procrastinating about for years and I was glad that A&D was able to take care of them for me. I used A&D last year for a leaky outdoor faucet, which they replaced and I had them do 2 for a little more. No issues This year my toilet was old and running all day. The valve didn't turn properly. Very fair price and came out within 48 hours. The plumber wore a mask, put down tarps on the carpet when walking and took the old toilet at the end. He even consulted us on some advice for no charge. They installed all drain lines from the kitchen sinks down to the crawl space and replaced the the 4 inch old rotten metal drain line with pvc and we couldn't be happier. The work looks like art. I needed to replace a leaking outdoor spigot. A & D responded immediately, and even gave a quote in the first response. I gave them the job, and they arrived right on time. They replaced the spigot quickly, were very neat, and the finished product was better than the original. They re-routed the original run of copper line, made it much easier to work with, and added a ball valve for easier shut off. I am completely satisfied with their work, and on top of that, they are all really nice people. We contacted A&D from a neighbor recommendation to look at what we suspected to be a leaky pipe in the foundation. They were able to assess the area and issue in about an hour and then they back in a few days to fix the problem. They were very clean and thorough in the whole process (placing down tarps, blocking dust, and cleaning up afterwards). I was also happy when he fixed issues that were surrounding the area as well, and not just "fixing the crack and leaving". While they were here, they quoted me to get my hot water replaced (which I kind of knew was coming)...so I had no problems with having them come back for that. I am extremely satisfied with their work and will post a few pictures. The one with the dug up ground might look bad, but they were so accurate, they only had to pop off 2 of the tiles. Then they corrected all of the original pipes and wrapped them (like they should have been). Edit: I added 3 "before pictures", 1 with the broken pipe, and 2 "after" pictures with all new shutoff valves, copper pipes, gas pipes, and the area cleaned up I also found the line of communication with the office manager, Debbie, and the plumbers, Matt and Brandon, to be easy to work with. There was never any doubts on work to be done, scheduling, or billing. The prices were reasonable as one company wanted to charger over $750 just to locate the leak!!! Finding a good, local area plumber is a tough task these days. Happened across them online and from the first phone call I could tell they were different - a personal touch from scheduling to getting the work done. Family owned business where the pride in their company shows. Debbie got us scheduled and called to confirm, Matt and Brandon showed up and did a nice job. Polite, professional, personable, and good at their trade - unfortunately, all too rare qualities these days. The jobs were small, but numerous and with the potential of turning into more complex issues. They replaced an outside spigot, its supply line and inside cutoff valve. Also, 5 different valves and supply lines for faucets and a leaky toilet. All with old threaded junctions in the wall and valves that were 30+ yrs old and frozen open. Cost was very reasonable for the work done - can honestly say I was glad to write the check and hope they continue to pass the skills and business on to the next generation. I am writing this review because I SERIOUSLY respect companies that value client relationships, and A & D proved that to me today. First, my phone call with Debbie was great! She is straight forward and professional. And she actually calls you back and follows up when she says she will. I like that. As for the service call, Brandon came out and was just amazing!!!! He explained to me the nature of the work and what would be required in detail. I wanted to have two spigots replaced...one inside garage and the other outside. After assessing my situation Brandon helped me determine that both spigots were in fine working condition, with the exception of the outside spigot where the screw in the handle was over wrung and water would not turn on. Brandon repaired that, AND to my shock and amazement he did not charge me for that repair. I setup an appointment scheduled for the following week, and received my confirmation call the day before. They arrived in the morning, did the work, and were out in probably an hour. Matt and Brandon are some of the smartest plumbers I've ever encountered....and I've dealt with many plumbers over the years. My sewer pipes were blocked, after being cleaned out by another local plumbing company six months earlier. We have been looking for decent plumbers since we moved to the area. A couple of emergencies that caused frantic and quick reviews of the phone book turned up decent but EXPENSIVE options. This time though, there was no emergency and I could take some time to check out different options. I called A&D (among others) to get the cost to replace two hose faucets outside. After hearing some of the other prices, some less than stellar attitudes and a "call back some other time". I decided to go with A&D. Tony and Brandon showed up on time in a decent looking van and decently dressed. Good first impression! The first thing they did after some introductions was lay out some tarps on the carpet. They cut out the old faucets and got them replaced very quickly. Both were friendly and willing to answer any questions I had. I had some questions about our injector pump and Tony was happy to explain things to me. Two bonuses: First, Tony looks just a little like Al Borland on "Home Improvement". Seems to be as trustworthy too. Second, no "plumber's crack" from either of them. That is appreciated too! : ) They do not take credit cards so keep that in mind. Was referred to a different plumber when I was called by the owner below my rental unit in Roselle about a leak. After that plumber came out (for a fee) to pinpoint what was going on, I received a ridiculously high quote on a toilet reset (which includes removing the toilet, replacing the wax ring, and putting the toilet back). Off to Yelp I went to try to find a plumber with a good record and reasonable prices. So glad that I found A & D, who represented their experience well, had reasonable prices (their quote was $200 less than the other company), and who worked well with my tennant. They said they were not able to come out until the following week which wouldn't work for us. But instead of just writing us off after we told them we would look somewhere else, they told us all the possible causes for our problems and told us to contact them if we had any questions. Best company ever. We had many quotes from plumbers around the area. All were much higher plus took forever to return our calls. We have used A & D several times now for business and residential use. I had a Moen shower cartridge that broke off inside the valve. Came looking on yelp for a plumber to help get it out. Called several plumbers, but Debbie at A&D was willing to give an approx quote. Created an account just to write this review. Was gathering quotes to have my main water shut off valve replaced. At the recommendation from some of the public works guys, I decided on A&D. They replaced the valve and brought my house up to code (a shut off before and after the meter) and to make a very long story short, they ended up finding some... unorthodox... plumbing issues put in place from the previous homeowner that were semi-related. They didn't feel comfortable just leaving after the job was done, so they helped me look around and find a solution to this issue. It didn't take long, but just having them stay and help me rather then just clean up and go speaks volumes. After all was said and done, they gave me the bill for the work and to my surprise the bill was very reasonably priced. I won't give exact numbers, but it was lower than other people I know who had other companies out for the exact same work. If it wasn't obvious, I would 100% recommend A&D to anyone with plumbing problems and I will 100% be using them again if I ever need to. read more

I contacted several companies (all with good Yelp reviews) to get quotes on a new water heater. A & D was able to give me a quote over the phone, which was $200 less than the other two quotes for the exact same brand & size water heater. They showed up on schedule and were very friendly, even funny. They put down canvas tarps from my front door all the way to the location in the basement where the work was to be performed. Once finished, they explained how the new water heater works and what to expect. I paid the quoted price, even though the installation required a new valve (which another company said would cost $67 extra). Another reviewer mentioned this, but they only take cash & check for payment. They'll remind you when you call them so you're aware. Overall a positive experience and a price that was much better than the competition. Definitely consider A&D if you're getting quotes for any plumbing work. read more
