I told him we were done here before he did any work and he said he boss would be billing us on his way out which is laughable. Big time bait and switch artists. Avoid at all costs.

It wasn't until my husband started calling that he finally got an answer and was told they'd be here at noon. That time again came and went, but they did finally show up at 1pm. The two guys that came out resolved the issue, but said their "card reader was down and could only accept cash". Since this repair is going through my home warranty, I need the invoice for reimbursement and have been told since Monday that Bob (the owner) would send it. Monday night he said, nothing. Tuesday night he said, nothing. Wednesday morning he said he was working on it "right now", nothing. Wednesday evening he said he was working on it "right now", you guessed it - nothing. At this point I don't think it's ever going to happen, likely because this isn't a real company. They're not BBB accredited, cannot communicate over several days, and overall has been a nightmare to work with. They had some install issues with the second faucet and stayed until it was completely done and functioning well, past 8pm on a Friday. The price was a touch higher than what I expected BUT I did not ask for an estimate and they did have to do some extra work they didn't anticipate, so I was happy to pay. We suspected it might be the capacitor, but the first technician pushed for a new motor. The second technician didn't mention the capacitor or the motor and instead recommended replacing the entire unit for $9,000. Aquaduct diagnosed the problem as a faulty capacitor and replaced it. If we truly needed a new air conditioner, that would have been fine. Our current unit is 15 years old, and we understand that it might have been time. But what we wanted was an honest assessment, and that's exactly what Aquaduct provided. I highly recommend Aquaduct!

We had an extremely poor experience with Aquaduct Plumbing after they installed our water heater…read more The installation was not done correctly (dielectric union, flue and drain pan) and corrosion developed at the dielectric union within a few years. This issue was pointed out to their technician during a service visit, & we followed up by email with photos clearly showing the corrosion. They claimed it was not their fault and since it is outside the labor warranty they wouldn't take care of it. When the issue recently worsened and we asked them to stand behind their installation, they pointed to an expired labor warranty and then stopped responding to our emails entirely. A water heater installation should last far longer than this without corrosion at the fittings, and a reputable plumbing company should take responsibility when a clear installation issue is identified, regardless of elapsed time. Unfortunately that was not our experience with Aquaduct Plumbing. Now I have a 4 year old water heater that will likely need fully replaced because of this piece that is almost fully corroded. I do not recommend Chicago Plumbing Experts. I just bought a house with my fiancé and there was a…read morehorrible smell coming from the basement. The inspector advised us as to what the issue could be and we asked Chicago Plumbing Experts to provide a quote to fix the issue. Will diagnosed the issue as being a busted P trap. He provided a quote for $3,879 to break up the concrete around the P trap, install a new P trap, hydro-jet the drain and sewer system, and "re-concrete kitchen drain/vent line assuming line is fine." As new home owners, we thought this was a fair price and we agreed to the price and the invoice, and two guys (I can't remember their names) came out to address the issue. They were 1.5 to 2 hours late and when they arrived they were unfamiliar with what services they were to be providing. We actually had to show them our copy of the invoice so they could familiarize themselves with the job they were supposed to be completing. After about an hour, they notified us that they needed to go buy some supplies. This seemed normal, but they were gone for three hours. When they returned they told us they had to go all the way to Brookfield (from Chicago) to retrieve the hydro-jet, which was supposed to have been brought with them to begin with, according to the services listed on the invoice. Now the kitchen drain. I will accept fault for accepting the wording of the invoice. We knew the kitchen drain was NOT fine, and I assumed they would fix it once they removed the concrete and confirmed that it wasn't fine. They did not fix the kitchen drain. They removed the concrete, confirmed what the inspector had already told us, and used a towel (provided by us) to fill the gapping hole around the corroded pipe. They told us they could re-concrete the drain, but it would need to be serviced in the same way as the P trap (meaning it was going to cost us another $4K to properly fix the issue because they needed to break up the concrete, install a new pipe, and re-concrete the kitchen drain). In addition to this, they decided to hydro-jet the drain and sewer system by using the stack in the basement. They broke the cap on the stack and did not have a replacement in their truck. They told my fiancé what he needed to buy and told him where to buy it. They were about to explain how to install it, but he told them he wanted to go buy the replacement cap and have them install it before they left. They told him the cap needed to be 4 inches so that's what he bought. It turned out the cap needed to be 3.75 inches so the cap my fiancé bought didn't fit. They instead filled the hole with plastic bags and said they would come back to fix it, for an additional charge. They didn't even end up using the stack to hydro-jet the drain and sewer system...they used the catch basin in the backyard. Breaking the cap on the stack was entirely preventable. We called to complain to Will after they left two holes in our basement and he told us they would be back on Monday to put a cap on the stack and to re-concrete the kitchen drain, as discussed. They did return on Monday, but they were there for less than ten minutes to put a cap on the stack and then they left. Although they were there twice, they did not clean up their mess and I had to dispose of the extra rags and their water bottles. They did correct the issue with the P trap, but it was NOT worth it. The service was very unprofessional and overpriced. Advice for new homeowners: assume NOTHING and get EVERYTHING in writing, whether you hire Chicago Plumbing Experts or someone else. Save yourself the expense and the headache.

The "other guys" did punch a hole through the roots growing in the sewer line, but said it would recur within a week if we didn't have hydrojet and pipe liner put in asap. The "other guys" came back the next day and showed me all this stuff with a camera and I asked wh?y is there such a small hole through the roots you are showing me? Why didn't they get all the roots. So between that and their $7,000 quote to do everything, I called back Aquatech. The man's voice who had answered the night before sounded honest so I was happy to ask them the questions. He gave me so much information the next day and said he could have his guys out to do a proper job the next morning, which was perfect for me. They were professional, not so "shiny" that you wondered what they were selling. They did a great job, fair price, were polite, helpful and everything is going well.
