A & E is a subsidiary of Sears. Repair person showed up for the first appointment. on time, diagnosed the problem, and took a payment of $552 when I set up the return appointment time. One week later, I got a call at 2:30 the day before confirming the appointment and at 3:45 that same day, another call cancelling the appointment. I was very upset that they cancelled the appointment with less that 24 hours notice. Too late since I had already rearranged the entire day to be at home during the appointment. The service rep was unwilling to reschedule an appointment that worked with my schedule considering he has my money. Service rep gave me a number to cancel my service which was the incorrect number. All in all, I had to call 5 different numbers to cancel my service and request a refund. Had i known that this company was really Sears, I would have never called them for repair service. Sears doesn't do what they say they will do in a timely fashion, and neither does A&E. Save yourself a diagnosis fee and skip this company. THEY DON'T HONOR YOUR TIME. read more

I waited all day for a technician because they could not narrow it down any further than 9am-5pm (ALL DAY) - and sure enough, the guy arrived at 4:00pm. Then after an hour and a half, decided I needed a part that had to be ordered for an additional $400. This was on a Saturday - I asked if I could speak with my husband and call A&E on Monday - the technician (LEO) said "Yes, just call A&E back". When I called I was told they could not order the part, and that they needed a technician to come back out to my house and diagnose the problem again (and PAY for a SECOND service vist!!), so the technician could order the part, because A&E apparently can't order parts!! THE WORST EVER! A & E cancelled my appointment that I waited 3 weeks for. They cancelled the morning of my appointment and PROMISED I would have the last appointment of the day after 3:30 the following week. The following week, the technician came at 12:15 and my son (under age 18) let him in. He only fixed one of the two problems. When I called customer service at 1:30, they said their records showed that the technician did not come yet. (Obviously, he did). At 2pm, I received a call that the technician woulud be her between 4 and 4:30....never came. I called customer service again and they said their records showed that my fridge was fixed. It was not. I asked to speak to a manager, which took 3 tries. The manager was very rude and unintelligent. She didn't even know what day I was talking about. I will NEVER use this company again. read more

Actually, because they ordered the wrong parts it was never attempted to be fixed. Let me be clear. Mistakes happen and I was not upset about that, however after I listened to the technician recognize he made a mistake he actually had the audacity to blame my wife for not checking the part that was sent to our house. How in the hell would she know it was not the right part? In addition to not fixing anything, their customer service is not crediting us the money we paid for the service call and parts. WORST. The 8am-5pm window is ridiculous. The "one technician per area" policy means you can't get anyone for a week. Their service representatives are either rude or incompetent and give you totally incorrect information (for example, my THIRD appointment was supposedly scheduled for "morning," since they knew I had to leave by noon, but it turns out all that was was a request, and there was no guarantee whatsoever, even though the representative OFFERED me morning or afternoon himself). I am not embellishing or exaggerating. This was the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Three week wait for my initial appointment. Two more weeks for the return visit to replace parts that had to be ordered. During that 2 weeks both parts (two different shipments) were sent to the wrong address despite me calling on the day they were ordered and verifying the correct mailing address. Then on the day the technician was scheduled to come back (same guy) went to the mailing address that the parts were supposed to be shipped to and not the physical address where the fridge was. Then upon realizing this mistake had no other choice but to reschedule me again which meant two more weeks wait time for a fridge that is under warranty. I got zero help from their customer service people and when I asked to speak to a manager one was supposed to call me back but never did. bought washer dryer 03/20/18. Washing machine shut down on 05/18/19 code F6E3 (F6E3 error code means the main board cannot communicate with the user interface board). Called Lowes. Set up service call with A&E 5/21. Shows up after 3 wouldn't get out van unless I assured him no free roaming dogs. Came in and ask what service call is for. Told him shut down F6E3 code. He scans washer tag and talks to someone about washer, pulls console apart and pushes on wires and circuit board. starts machine and tell phone person washer filling with water and is running. Turns it off and put back together. Said I pushed the button too long and he leaves. I washed a load no problem. Second load shut down code F6E3. Called Lowes again and they said be 5/28 which I said hell no. They contacted A&E which everyone agreed for 5/23 (second service call). I ask if it was the same Sears company again which Lowes said A&E aren't a Sears associated company. This tech listen to me about code. Didn't have repair book for machine and called his support (on speaker phone) and they DID NOT have a manual either and had to google one. He/they started checking circuits per manual and they said lets order both main board and interface board (estimated delivery date 6/5 or 6/6) and "hope it fixes it" at a cost of $650 (at Lowes dime not mine). I called Lowes and they said hands tied until this repair also fails and if it fails they will "buy back" machine for what I paid 14 months earlier but not my $80 I spent for extended warranty. I ask why not just swap it out and we cant do that but we are sorry you have wear stinky nasty clothes for 3 weeks and wouldn't even offer a loaner. I trusted them and I used 2 months of disability checks ($3000) to buy junk with a "authorize factory" repair company that doesn't have a repair manual to fix a machine that's only 14 month old. Guess I should have bought a wash board and go down to creek to wash my clothes. A&E deservers a minus 100 star rating for being a scam company read more

WARNING!!! This service is terrible. The technician that came into my home was beyond rude. He was yelling at me in my own kitchen. Completely unprofessional and rude. They charged $100 and did absolutely nothing. There was an issue with the seal on my freezer and he told me he would charge me $200 to defrost the freezer with my hairdryer. Then the handle on the freezer was cracked and they did not have the parts to actually fix it. He told me he would have to order the part and then it would cost upwards of $300 for labor (plus the cost of parts). If you use these people, between how many times they charge $100 to walk through your door, you could buy another appliance. read more

A and E was sent by Assurrant to service my diryer. When they worked ont he dryer, they pulled out the dryer and also the washer next to it. They moved the hoses when doing so. He actually pulled the hose ina nd out of the casing. The next time I went to use the washing machine the water flooded down 3 floors because the technician torked the hose and as a result perforated something. I called A and E who acknowledged this and set up a case with their insurance company. The insurance company asked me to provide estimats for the damage. When I left a message for the agent that I was getting the info together, I received a call that the case had been reassigned. I called the new agent 3 times and never heard back. On the fourth call,I reached him and he told me the case was closed. A and E and hteir insurance company Sedgewick never even sent out an adjuster. They told me to send picutres and estimates. Even prior to receiven gany info they closed the case. A and E has yet to send back a technician to fix eh problem.. A and E acknowledged that the tech had to move the equipment to service it and acknowleged resposibility. However, they then told Sedgewick they are nto responsible and that the technician did nto move the equipement. it is impossible to fix the machien which was agaisnt the wall without moving the two machines. A and E admitted that three times to me. As a result ot their negligence, I had a three floor flood, wall damage, floor and carpet damage, a small electrical fire and a machine that does not work. By the way, Assurant has takenno responsiblity nro action for A and E's negligence. I have thousands of dollars of damage and an electrical fire and they did nothing!! All I can say for this repairman is that he was polite. Woefully inadequate as a technician. Apparently no more than 15 minutes training in repairing refrigerators. My built in Kitchen Aid fridge was working when he arrived, but had been making a beeping noise for a while. He broke it completely, couldn't understand (or read) the instructions on his computer, or even follow verbal directions via telephone from another man at his company. He thought it might be the mother board, but they stopped making them (for a 7 year old $8000 unit) and they didn't hold out much hope of repairing it. Then decided that it needed 2 computer boards, neither of which he had and I would have to try to locate. I paid over $100 to have my refrigerator broken for me and my day wasted. read more

It took them 2 months to set up an appointment....the day of the appointment they called, said repairman was ill, rescheduled......2 weeks later. Was suppose to arrive between 1-5 PM. Text message at 12 pm, repairman on his way....I rush home, find note says he missed me and to call 1-800-905-9595. The worst service I ever experienced. Recommended by Maytag which will make me think twice before buying another Maytag. They charged me $130 to troubleshoot my dryer. The tech came out and said it was the blower belt. Instead of changing it he put the old belt back on. Later that day it wasn't working again. I set another appointment and specifically told them I needed a new blower belt. The next tech came out and agreed it needed a new belt and didn't understand why the tech before didn't change the belt. Only problem in spite of my instructions this tech didn't have the belt. He appoligies and said he would have the belt sent UPS at no charge. Once it arrived he said I could set a THIRD appointment to have it installed. I said I would install it myself since it was a relatively simple procedure. Within a week I received the belt, only problem is they sent me the wrong one. They sent the drum belt. I call back and was told the correct belt would be sent out. In the meantime I found a place to buy the belt and installed it myself. It cost me $60. These bastards then billed me for the belt. I told them to get screwed. There is absolutely no customer service with thee people and Maytag didn't give a crap either. I suggest try a local independant repair person. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! If I could give Zero stars for customer service and quality control I would!!! We had them in to repair our Samsung washing machine (also crappy customer service and quality control). The machine wouldn't spin and drain so door wouldn't unlock. This was in September of 2014. The machine was only 6 years old. The service tech said the pump was clogged he cleared it, charged us $167.00. There was a 3 month warranty. Shockingly 4 months later it happened again! The pump wasn't clogged, but tech said the pump should have been changed the 1st time. This time he had to be replaced for $279.00. Fast forward 4 month the pump blows again, no longer under warrantee, "SHOCKER"! Make a new service call, they can't come for a week. They gave a window between 1-5:00. Tech calls at 4:45, he's still on another call and won't make. We explained the problem, and another "shocker" he knew it was the pump and said to call A&E and tell them to order a new pump and make a new install appointment. We called, they wouldn't order the pump until the tech paid a service call,which won't be for another week, then order the pump, then need to wait another week for the pump to be installed for another $279.00- 10% for being a repeat customer!!!!! It is truly unfortunate that you can't leave negative stars. I bought a water heater from Lowe's with an extended warranty. It has never worked properly, not enough hot water and it makes atrocious noises. Called Lowe's warranty. They do not service it the first year when it's under factory warranty. Very nice lady connected me to Whirlpool, she connected me to the actual manufacturer, who said she could send me an element which "probably will fix it". I elected to have A&E service it. They said that could come a week later, but, guess what. They never showed and the serviceman claimed we weren't home and he left a note. Not true and no note. Rescheduled. "will be there between 1:30 and 3:30 pm. Guess what. They have no idea where he is, but he wasn't here. Two days wasted waiting for a liar. Whirlpool says call a plumber and they'll pay up to $100. Ever try to get a plumber to do anything in a timely manner? Lowe's will support me in a claim, but I'll fix it. I was at the mercy of my extended warranty company (who is partly to blame) to use them to repair my LG washing machine. 8 weeks later, I finally convinced the warranty company to settle with me for a new machine. I now have 2 partially assemble machine drums in my garage and just returned 2 other boxes of incorrect parts. A&E insisted that a service person needed to come out to confirm the wrong parts (which I knew were wrong) and that the next available appt. wasn't until 3 weeks later. My Samsung microwave is in need of repair , and Samsung scheduled A and E in Melville to repair it. I was given an appointment and told the window was between 8 am and 5 pm. The serviceman called me ahead and arrived without the part to repair it, and put in an order to get the part and a new appointment for the following week. The next week i waited all day, and got a telephone call at 4pm to call and reschedule my appointment. When I called I was told the repairman had called in sick. They could"t have told me that in the a.m? Next appointment was today, and i called at 8:30 am to get an approximate time and was told after 12 noon. At 4p.m i had a call to reschedule my appointment, as the repairman had called in sick. As you can guess, I was very angry and told them I was calling Samsung . A& E sent someone today to fix our built-in refrigerator. The person who came today (was supposed to come between 8 AM and 12 noon, and he showed up close to 1PM) had to call "the veterans who may know about this problem more than I do". They replaced a thermistor in the refrigerator and charged me $41.32 plus tax for part number 2188820 (which retails on Amazon for $15.55), but I noticed later that they put in part 2188819 (which retails on Amazon for $8.56) and took out part 2188820. Three hours later, we found that the refrigerator still does not work, and still has the same problem (the refrigerator does not hold the set temperature more than just a few hours without being reset). We called the company and someone at the answering service, Rolando, stated the dispatcher would call us back to schedule another visit this evening or the next morning. When we did not receive a call from the dispatcher, we called again, and the next operator stated we would not get a call within 24 to 48 hours. I called the credit card company to reverse the charge, but we have to wait because the charge was not applied yet. We were charged $221.00 for labor, which covered less than an hour's worth of work. MY DOCTOR DOES NOT GET PAID THAT MUCH FROM MY HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY FOR THAT AMOUNT OF TIME! This company is a scam. They came once before (about 3 years ago) to fix the same refrigerator. At that time, the repair man called in advance and because we were covered by a warranty repair service, they ordered 5 electronic parts because "the problem is likely to be one of these parts - so what's the problem, the warranty company will pay for them anyway". When he fixed the problem, he was going to take the unused parts with him, until I actually blocked the serviceman at the door and threatened to forcefully take the unused parts from him. The extra parts they order from warranty companies are used for the next customer, and if that customer does not have a warranty, they charge them for parts that they took from the previous warrantied customer. If they do not return my call by tomorrow morning, I will call another repair company. The credit card company said that if I have to pay for the service by another company, they will reverse the charge. Unfortunately, I will not get the $20 tip I gave the serviceman. The "tech" came out to check out the knocking noise on my 4yr old Maytag washer. He determined I needed a new drum and would cost $1,240.70 to repair. He informed me I was better off getting a new washer and gave me a $100 coupon to sears. I was not happy with his assessment and called Maytag. They sent a tech out and immediately saw that the vent hose was disconnected and tapping on the drum during the spin cycle. Both techs had the top off only one knew what they were doing and honest. We waited for 6 weeks for an appointment for our dishwasher. The technician arrived during the window of time. He spent 5-6 minutes with the dishwasher and his computer. He reported to us that it was fixed and billed us $190. He started the dishwasher and left. The dishwasher stopped working half way through its cycle (as it had been doing) and flashed the same two lights that were flashing before the appointment. I called to let them know and they offered to send the technician back during their next open appointment in 3 weeks. No one cared that the dishwasher wasn't fixed, that we already waited 6 weeks or that he already charged us $190. We were also scheduled for an appointment for freezer repair that same day. We were scheduled for a 1pm - 5 pm window (so, we took a half day off from work). At 3:30 we received a call saying they had overbooked and would be unable to come. Apparantly there are only two companies that service our area and one doesn't know what is wrong. My dishwasher is only 7 months old and has been broken since Thanksgiving. What a horrible experience I have had just trying to get a technician to show up. On the first occasion, I had someone waiting all afternoon at my apartment. I was told that the technician rang the bell but no one was home. This was not true but I rescheduled. Today was my new appointment day. I called every half hour to confirm that technician was going to show up. At first, I was given an approximate time. Then we kept calling and they kept moving the time. I wish I had read the reviews before I let the company in my house! They apparently sub contract for Sears appliance repair . Four days for appointment. Repair went ok, it was payment that I had a problem with. I had a 20 percent off coupon, which was accepted by mechanic no problem. Fast forward 6 weeks and I receive a letter in the mail saying credit card payment did not process and a late charge has been added to my invoice. It requested payment by check . There was a phone number provided which I called. No one is there to speak to. You think you are on hold then you get a dial tone. I had a Sears Warranty on a washer and a repair man came and said it is customer neglect from dog blankets I am washing and he is going to void my warranty. Yeah he said this right to my face without looking at the washer because he says its on record . This company will look for any reason to void a warranty. I saw another repair man look at my laundry soap and softener to see if it says "he' on it because I have a front loader. Do not buy any appliances from them. they do not want to honor their warranties, but they like to have you purchase them . Wow. What a terrible experience. My GE fridge was acting up and a tech came out two weeks later and said he had to order a temp sensor and then rescheduled an apt for 10 days later. The part was shipped to my house and a different tech showed up and said that was not the problem. He did not put the part in that had been shipped. He put in a off brand part for what he thought the problem was, a compressor relay. Told me the problem was fixed and left. My fridge still was doing the same thing, changing temps up and down in the fridge and freezer. I called the clowns at A&E and they said another tech would come out and put the temp sensor in in about 10 days. After taking three 1/2 days off from work, I received a call from the tech and he said he would be at the house in 1/2 hour. After an hour I called him on his cell phone and no answer. I called the A&E joke line and they told me that he cancelled the appt. and went home. Still can't get a response from the service department located in the Philippines as to when someone will show up. I called Home Depot, where I bought the fridge at, and they are trying to get some response from the clowns. read more

He had to leave. He said he had called the office and they would send someone to finish the job. Of course I waited and waited and nobody came. Then I called and they said they would call me back. Of course they didn't. Now I called this morning and they said Oh you're scheduled for Friday. Friday!!! I believe that nobody is in a rush to finish this job because it is already paid for. As I type this, I am holding for a supervisor on the phone. Of course, no supervisor will get on the phone with me. They will just leave me on hold until I hang up. WARNING!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! This is my very first Yelp review. I read them frequently but have never been outraged enough to actually write one. This has been, hands down, the worst customer service I've ever experienced. It started weeks ago when I was told it would take nearly 2 weeks for an appointment. Fine. I waited. Then the day of the appointment I stayed home all day long because they gave me an 8am- 5 pm window. Not exactly helpful or convenient, but ok. I then got a call at the end of the day saying the repair man had gone to the wrong address and they would try again the following day. Again, same window. 8-5. I stayed home for the SECOND day in a row and then never came. I called at 5:40, right before I had to leave for work, and they told me the technician was on the way. I obviously couldn't wait and miss work. At this point I became enraged. I demanded a technician come first thing in the morning, seeing how much I was already greatly inconvenienced, and the 'manager' told me he had no intention of sending anyone the following day. The absolute WORST SERVICE EVER. Do NOT use these guys... they are awful. I waited almost a month to get an appointment to have my 3 year old Samsung dryer repaired. He was supposed to come between 8 and 11. He showed up at 4:30. He took my dryer apart with hundreds of little pieces scattered all over the floor. Needless to say, now 6 weeks later my dryer is squeaking and grinding. And if that's not bad enough...they tried to tell me that I would be charged for another service appointment for them to come and look at it. Horrible customer service! I spent 40 minutes and spoke to 5 different people trying to voice my complaint. One of the "customer service" reps actually hung up on me! (And no, I was not being rude or unreasonable). If I could give a negative I would this is truly the WORST company to have come and fix any thing I wouldn't refer them to my worst enemy I had purchased a Samsung microwave from Lowe's the microwave is the most beautiful piece of TRASH b4 doing research we stupidity bought all Samsung appliances which ALL have been a NIGHTMARE there the worst appliance makers and unfortunately as usual the microwave started acting up literally turning on while you open the door um yeah there's a glitch so A & E was supposed to come on Tuesday August 2 & NO SHOW supposedly the company was trying to call all day on the house phone but no machine why we had an electrical issue so explain why I had NO CALL on my cellphone the MAIN #. I had 2 call two hrs later after they where supposed to be here to hear oh sorry we can't make it we will be there on this Thursday between 10-2 OOOK so @ 2pm I called to hear oh sorry the technicians running late he's gonna be there by 2:30 SOOOO fast forward after the NO CALL explaining the lateness now it's 3:40 and I get sorry I'm late mind you my mother works nights and wanted to go to sleep and I had to step out and ran late to a job interview waiting mind you I get home the technician plucks pieces and left & said ok be back next Friday ok it sounds petty but w/out the convenience of a microwave it gets very annoying very fast at the end of the day if you are ordering pieces NOT refurbishing there was no authorization for you to pluck and leave honestly never again do I even wanna see this horrible company logo idk how there still in business Ps the call wait time calling A & E is ridiculous I can just imagine all the many calls because of how horrible they are read more

My refrigerator worked fine but the compressor was rattling.Under warranty so a free repair.I tell them whats wrong so they actually bring the part.Swap out compressor only to find the new part was cracked.Part would take 4 days and when it comes to my house via UPS to call.My wife freaks out since we were in the middle of a heat spell and I have to keep insuline refrigerated.Said he couldn't put old one back in although I called a friend in the business said it should have been no problem to reinstall and charge up.I get the part and call assuming a quick service call but no they said soonest appt. was over 2 weeks later.Screaming at them I tried to explain to them that their new part was bad so why am I getting screwed.Living out of a cooler and buying ice everyday.Eating out a lot .They Suck suck suck.on top of that I don't get paid when I take off(2 days).had to buy a used fridge off Craigslist to survive.Probably going to cost me about a1000 dollars and all this could have been avoided if the guy spent 30 minuted and just put the old part back in? read more

I have a Kenmore Elite Dishwasher that I got at SEARS. It seems that they own A&E which is the service company for SEARS. I'm not sure, as the whole thing is confusing and frustrating. My dishwasher was leaking from the bottom during the drain cycle. I assumed because a bottom rack wheel had broken off and got stuck in the machine somewhere. I have a 2 year old Kenmore Elite which (according to 2 different technicians) is "designed to fail" because the rack wheels are made of plastic and they weaken over time, break off, and end up jamming up the motor. The first time this happened the dishwasher was less than a year old and was still under warranty. Because I'm aware of this ridiculous design flaw, I am very careful with the racks. I always support the top rack when I'm loading it, and I never put heavy items towards the front. I baby this thing. But anyway, now the bottom rack wheels have started to break off. So...back to A&E (SEARS)...I take off a WHOLE day from work because they can only give me an 8-5 "window". That's not a window. That's all day. The technician shows up just after 4pm and cannot figure out why my dishwasher is leaking. He makes several calls to someone who advises him about what to do. It was as if this guy had never fixed a dishwasher before. He tells me he's going to replace the pump motor and that it's "pricey". I ask him if he's SURE it's the pump motor and he says "No, I'm not sure". He calls someone again and they decide to replace some other part (I don't know what it was). He pulled the dishwasher out, tipped it on its side, and replaced a white plastic thing. This did fix the leak...which is good...BUT...he couldn't get the dishwasher back in. He kept telling us that the hoses in back were obstructing and it wasn't going to sit in there properly. We argued that it was fine before and that he could NOT go away and leave our dishwasher protruding 5 inches! It looked ridiculous!!!!! He also told us he didn't have the replacement wheel and that we'd be better off ordering it online and replacing it ourselves. He said if he did it he would have to charge us $35 for EACH WHEEL (they can't actually cost more than a few cents) plus another $79 service call. We agreed we would do it ourselves. I paid him $197 for fixing the leak and then he left. My husband opened the dishwasher to begin loading it and noticed loose screws and parts sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher! The dishwasher was not secured at all, and TWO MORE wheels were now broken off the TOP rack! As the repair man was still in my driveway, I called after him and told him that he had to come back and he told me HE COULDN'T because he had to go to his next job! He told me I had to call the 800 number to schedule another appointment! And I said BUT YOU'RE STILL HERE and my dishwasher is WORSE THAN IT WAS BEFORE!!! He drove off anyway. When I called the 800 number they told me they were a 3rd party (in Colombia...the country) that handles "claims" for Sears. So even though the repairman had just left I had to file a "claim" and wait for the results of their review. 2 days later they left a message saying our "claim" was denied because the service notes said it was a pre-existing condition. My husband called them back and had to leave a message. No one ever returned his call. This has been going on exactly one week. I finaly got someone on the phone today and (after being disconnected by someone named Melissa) spoke to Judson who said a repair man would come tomorrow. I'll be waiting around again.
