The only reason I went to this nail salon was because Donna McGowen worked there and is the best in town. Now that she no longer works there, I have no reason to go back. Aside from Donna, I only went to one other guy who was a little rude and did an OK job. read more

Girls day? Don't go here! I was reminded constantly by the nail tech that my nails were "too long." Not only that, but my cuticles were cut 3 times, nothing like bleeding fingers! My nail tech didn't even know what I was saying, which was cool, not. Plus, I wanted rhinestones or something (not design) on my nails, and was rudely told that they did not have them. That's all nice, but I have uneven nails, and the shape is not consistent for $28. Not the way I pictured a vacation or a girls day. read more

Very poor service-Walk in. The male that assisted me when I came in was very rude and lazy. They also only have one lady that does acrylic nails on a Friday night and she was booked. I decided to do gel nails but ended up not wanting to do it because of the rude service and minimal choices they have for gel colors. He also did not treat me the same as the lady next to me. The woman that does my nails ( I think she is the owner) is absolutely amazing! She really takes her time and makes the effort to make your nails look perfect. I get acrylic and then gel and it is always perfect. read more

Terrible service. I came in for an acrylic fill because my usual woman was unavailable. The lady doing my nails was rough and rude, pulling on my hands and burning me with the electric file. She then refused to thin down the acrylic even after I asked repeatedly, blaming it on the person who had done my nails before. Definitely do not recommend, I will not be going back. read more

I have been getting my nails done here for a while. It's not the best but it was convenient after work. Some are better than others. One is particularly bad and he's very unpleasant. But now I'll find a new place. I get gel manicures every week but today I went with a regular and got a pedicure. Told the woman I'll be back next week for my regular gel. She ended up charging me an additional $5 to remove the gel I had on. They also raised their price of a mani pedi by $5. I told her how unhappy I was about being charged an extra $5 since I'm a regular customer and always generous. I tipped her $10 before I knew. She could care less. Just shrugged her shoulders. I'm done with this place. It's now more expensive AND they don't respect customers. Not to mention the reason I got a regular manicure was because the guy who did them last week did a horrible job and 2 nails chipped and split so I need to let them grow. read more

This place is wonderful and very inexpensive for the service they offer. I was here from out of town and my acrylic nails really needed attention. They told me to come right away. It is a family business, but the sister and brother are young enough that their English is excellent. Clean and great pedicures. Great massage chairs. Acrylic nails are not always easy to deal with and she did a great job. They have only been open not quite a year and I plan to visit again when we come to South Bend. read more

Don't Waste Your Money!!! I called to make an appointment and the man who answered was incredibly rude-no hello, just "what do you need?" in a very mean tone. I gave it a try anyway as I wanted something close by, but it only went downhill from there. I found the pedicure very basic and sloppy, and there was nothing welcoming about the experience. The salon itself is also just meh-they sell nail polish but the bottles haven't been touched in so long they're completely separated and it just looks gross. I had whoever answered the phone as my technician and he was just as rude: "pay now". $28 for a pedicure is also a ridiculous price when I can have a way better experience elsewhere for much less. read more

This was the second time I have had bad service. I went two years ago and decided to give them a second chance. Within 24 hours I have lost two nails, the polish is peeling, and the nails are not filed well. I went in to ask for a refund and was refused. I was told I could get them redone - I refused to let them touch my nails again. Lesson learned. read more

Great service, amazing pedicures. Not too good on designs though. I had to go back home and redo my design on my nails.

I initially liked this place and recommended it to a friend the day after I went. My friend went and got a mani and it chipped an hour or two after she walked out. My pedi only lasted a couple of days before it began to chip and when I went back in to see if they could fix it for me I've never experienced such horrific customer service. They were extremely rude and made me feel unwelcome. I will never step foot in this place again and I will spread this story around so that none of my friends or family will ever go back. I would never treat a person the way they treated me. If you're smart you'll go somewhere else! read more

I went to A & E Nails only because Donna McGowan was there. I have been a client of Donna's for years and always have been happy with her services and followed her wherever she went. One time while at A & E I need a face waxing (brows, upper lip and chin) Lee did it. When she was done I noticed my chin was red (not unusual) and burning..I proceeded to tell the owner Tracy, who did nothing about it. I was going out of town the next day and had a scab across my entire chin which was burned, I now have a scar where I didn't before. Another time I needed my nails done before going out of town again, Donna was booked but Tracy did them. First of all Tracy did not do what I wanted done instead did what she wanted to do. My nails lifted and looked terrible something that NEVER happened with Donna. I also found the owner to be rude. If you want good work done and happy with your nails DO NOT GO Here! read more

I will never return to A & E Nails. Last Thursday evening my daughter and I went to A & E salon for pedicures and a manicure. (I had booked a wedding party there before and was pleased.) I had french tips done, $10 over the $38 charge for regular nail polish. All seemed satisfactory and I even tipped the girl 20%. By Sunday, however, the nails begin chipping, and I hadn't done anything which should have caused this -no dishes, cleaning, gardening, etc., just chillaxing. Before noon on Monday, the French tipping was nearly gone off 6 nails. I returned to the salon Monday afternoon to complain and show the manicurist my nails. She said French tips easily chip and refused to do anything. This has not been my experience at other salons, Needless to say, I will never return to A & E and will insure others know of my poor experience there. If you want your nails to last more than just a few days, choose another salon. read more
