Took my 1959 Willy's Utility Wagon into his shop and preserved by replacing rusting body parts and fabrication. Then gave the Jeep a clean paint job after a painstaking process. Learned more about the car and the process. I don't think he would do this kind of restoration often but it doesn't hurt to ask! Good job preserving the family Wagon. Fortunately, he took me over to the street and told me to go over to A&J. My experience there was phenomenal. This is a small shop recommended to me by my mechanic. I've worked with Alex and Jerry twice in the past 6 years. Each time they were fair, transparent, and did excellent work. This past time, they replaced a front fender on my car. Because I didn't want to file an insurance claim, Alex walked me through my options (original vs recycled parts), and he never pressured me or tried to upsell me. The repair could have gotten costly since the damage involved the fender, wheel liner, and bumper. Alex, Jerry, and their crew took it upon themselves to try and salvage as much as possible (good for the environment and my wallet), and they were able to match and blend the paint so the finished job looks good. Alex kept me updated as the work progressed, and they finished ahead of schedule. I would never go here. Jerry and Alex initially said they would fix my hood of my car then I had someone else help me and try and fix my hood. When another company messed up my hood of my car I wasn't satisfied so I went back to this company and that's how they refused my vehicle and said that now I have given them more work to fix it so they refused to help. I said I would pay. Alex said no we can not take your car anymore and to take it back to the person who messed it up because now it more work for us to fix it. I was in total shock on how Alex and Jerry handled this. Will never go back and will never refer anyone here. Very poor customer service. First I will say that typically I do not write reviews. But I absolutely have to do this. I worked with Alex twice and he went way above and beyond to take care of my 05 jeep wrangler. When I needed a rental he went with me to Enterprise and got me a break. He was also able to fix a situation with my door handle in which it needed a very specific tiny piece that would have been a real headache to order on it's own with out ordering the whole part, saving me time and money. He took the time to fix it and didn't even charge me! That is totally amazing customer care! They couldn't tell me no, but they made it seem like estimates and billing were going to be more difficult. If billing was more difficult, I never knew about it. I took my bmw 745i to A&J auto body repair shop because my hood cable broke and that car has 3 cables in different sectors the mechanic that I took it to prior told me it was to complicated and recommended that I go to that body shop. So I did he had some cars that he was working on. I told Alex I need that car for work. He told his workers put my car In first... and had the car done the next day and he didn't charge me the mechanics ridiculous prices what a relief and he explained everything in detail for me... he was so genuine him and Jerry that I had to take my cars to them, I told him that someone hit my infiniti g35 coupe and tore up the fender / bumper ... can you repair it for me, he said yes bring it in... he dealt with the insurance company for me and made a no hassle for me, I wasn't worried anymore and made my car looking great again.....I definitely recommend taking my cars to them because in the past the insurance company didn't do my car right and gave me a hassle.... but at A&J auto body repair & paint on 1220 s. la brea ave they will take care of the problem and make your car great again.... really good genuine people. Alex was amazing (shout out to Jerry, too)! I'm sure not all shops love taking on (or will) a motorcycle project such as mine, but Alex did and did an amazing job. We made sure we had the exact color I wanted and did racing stripes on my tank, fairing and seat I made from scratch (and also the front fender), and the bike looks show room ready. Alex and the team were relentless on the fine body work as well as if he took a real personal interest in my project as you would do for your friend. He even made the stripes smooth, not raised, which I said I didn't care about, but he went ahead and did that detail (that my bike friend was impressed by) anyway. After I paid (which stayed within original budget and was a great price), was loaded up and on my way, I sort of bumped into Jerry who wasn't really involved in my project, we had a quick laugh about something, I told him I loved the result, and he gave me a quick look and a smile and said, "yeah, he really went above and beyond on this one." Brought my 1958 Ford Fairlane Skyliner here and I am so happy with the result. My car needed several repairs and adjustments due to it's age and overall condition. The doors wouldn't close properly, the car couldn't be locked, and the trunk stopped working recently. I was turned down by several places before I took it to Alex and his team. He had it fixed in no time, adjusting the doors so they began to close. The locks were fixed and the latches were replaced so I can finally keep my car locked and safe.
