Best place to get oil change or anything checked for your car. The owner is korean and he's really quick to things and very honest and upfront! What I love about this owner is that he's not there to get your money! When i come to get my oil change, he will tell me upfront "go home- too many cars today" "come tomorrow".. just really honest! So i love his honesty with his work! and he's never there afterwards telling me all the things I "need" and "fix" for this car. He usually helps me out with all the changes I need in the car and even lets me know that I have several more months before changing the breaks or etc. I've also seen the owner help the elderly with really old cars who physically doesn't seem to have much... help them out with the car and let them know it's on him and tell them "God Bless You". I took my car in for a new alternator after the battery wouldn't hold a charge anymore. The AAA tech who towed it assured me his tests showed it was not the battery itself but the car's charging system that was failing. A&J, on the other hand, said the alternator was fine and that I simply needed a new battery. So, $200 later, I left with a new battery. Sure enough, a week later the car wouldn't start. I took it back to A&J and was charged $400 for a new alternator. When I reminded the owner Ken that I'd already told him I had originally wanted the alternator replaced I got no apology, no admission of error, no refund for the now-dead $200 battery he'd sold me, and no "dedicated, 20-year customer discount" or any other compensation. Ken and A&J have lost a very faithful customer, but have now gained a bad rating on Yelp. read more

They charged me double of what the repair on my car would cost elsewhere. They were close to my house, so it was easy to tow, but I really regret it. As a female that did not speak their language, I was ignored for several minutes standing out in the sun. I hate to sound ignorant, but it was very difficult communicating with them, and I did observe the men and women were treated with respect and were welcomed into his office to wait and chat while their cars were being worked on that did speak the same language. When I asked them to reset the service light, he told me to "hold on" and continued to laugh and chat with his peer in his office. I would not recommend coming here. Only came here once to get a car repaired, within a month of it being fixed, problem returned. Also thought the repair was kind of expensive compared to other places. Couldn't find my receipt for the repair so never took it back. Considering problem returned so soon, don't think they actually repaired it, I believe they just did some patch up work instead of what I actually paid for. read more

I was recommended by my friend about A&J auto body. I usually get aftermarket parts for my brakes and rotors, so I came here at A&J to get it done. Usually big corp companies do not install parts for you. And the usual body shops will charge you somewhere between $100-$150 for installation of your own parts. But here, the owner is really all about service and honesty. He only charged me labor, which is $60 for front brake jobs (new rotor+pads installation) that was it. I just ordered my parts by shopping on line, and bring those parts here to get them installed. Usually if you do thensame job around your local body shops, it will cost about $500 If you go to dealership, it will cost somewhere between $700-$800..depending on what model and brand your car is. By finding the best realiable,competitive, and compatible brake kits online and then installing them forn$60, I was able to save over $140 to local body shops. Even more, i saved more than $500 compared to dealerships. this was my 2nd visit to A&J , and I already got my rear brake jobs done here a year ago...it still works great on my 2008 Lexus GS350. I've been here several times here to get my car fixed and I don't think I will be going back again. People are nice and they seem to be honest. However, based on my experience, it seems like their biggest downside is their lack of skills. They are very much just an average mechanics in your area, but with no other special skills. They may be good at fixing general stuff which any other mechanics can do, but it seems like they struggle and have a really hard time trying to fix something that is complicated. Further, when it comes to price, it's wasn't cheap. I wouldn't say they are ripping you off, but it's not cheap compared to other mechanics I've been to. So for an average so-so mechanic with a price that is not so competitive, I don't really see a reason why I should go again. read more

Buying a used or salvaged vehicle can be a stressful experience, and like most people would be, I was apprehensive about purchasing the 2016 Subaru that I discovered on A & J's website. Luba, however, the owner of A & J Auto Sales on Alder Avenue, provides a 30-day warranty for her vehicles, and she stands behind that warranty. After discovering we had an issue with the bumper and an electrical issue, we brought the car back to A & J, and even though her technician couldn't figure out the problem, she sent the car to an electrical specialist. Luba had both problems corrected promptly, even thought is was a few days after the warranty, she did not charge us anything.. It was a sincere pleasure doing business with her, which is in my experience, a rare occurrence in the used auto industry. I highly recommend purchasing your next vehicle through Luba and A & J!
