After years of not doing much car maintenance outside of an oil change, I came to ABC Auto Repair for an oil change and a full diagnostic. I initially thought my brakes needed to be replaced as well and was prepared to spend a pretty penny, however Jay let me know this wouldn't be necessary for another year at least. He was thorough with explaining other maintenance / what I should prioritize / when I should expect to come back for it (ex: changing tires, getting my car aligned, etc.). He showed me a scan of my car with how misaligned my tires were and explained that aligning them would make my car last longer and bring down gas usage. He also pointed out that my lug nuts were stripped and should be replaced in case I needed to change my tires myself. I appreciated his thoroughness, honesty, and lack of pushiness. It didn't feel like I was pushed into services I didn't need, instead, it felt like he wanted to educate me on how to take care of my car long-term even if I didn't come back. I came back recently to get my tire sensors replaced ($180 for two) and my brakes changed. He changed the sensors but informed me I still had a bit of time before my brakes needed replacement and that I should save my money. I was a block away when I unexpectedly got a flat tire. I searched online for the closest tire shop. I drove over & by the time I got there, my tire was completely flat to the ground. I asked the employees for repair & they told me "No, not today!" I said "my tire is completely flat, I can't move my car anymore... I barely made it here" he said "No, too busy, there's a tire shop a mile away down the road". I told them I would wait but still said No. They didn't even bother to offer to fill it with air to get to the other shop. I had to ask them for air & they still seemed bothered to help.
