First time using A&L BMW. Bought my 5th BMW and have to say they were very fair and worked with me on my trade in and what I was asking for on the new purchase. The offer was much better than I received from the other BMW dealership in the area. The other dealerships offer was insulting. My salesman, Jeff Hein was awesome. He was very responsive and addressed all my requests. I can be quite demanding at times and Jeff was very well versed in his customer care techniques. I was in an accident on 10/26/18 and I still don't have my vehicle back...its been almost 5 months. After my bran new Range Rover sitting in their shop, without any work being completed, for a month they suggested it being taken to a different shop for the repairs. Its been taken back and forth from A&L to Body by Cochran in Cranberry for 5 months and each time I'm supposed to get my car back, there is a "surprise" or some "unforeseen issue." I bought into VIP service when I purchased the vehicle, and A&L has done nothing for me - not completing the work, not communicating, forget about a loaner vehicle. I'm amazed at how absolutely terrible this entire process has been. read more

Took my Range Rover in on Feb. 8th to get one headlight replaced and for them to check both headlights. A few days later I called A& L because the light was still inoperable. Spoke with Jared who told me I'd have to pay labor costs again to have them look at it. I felt that was unreasonable considering they didn't fix it initially. I took my vehicle to Bobby Rahel on the 26th of Feb in the North Hills and had them look at it. They discovered A & L replaced the working headlight. Evidently, they didn't even bother checking both headlights per the instructions in the service order. I called A & L, spoke with Doug Barnes who refused to take accountability and attempted to justify their negligence. WORSE SERVICE EVER!!!! And this is a luxury car dealership???? Terrible service experience, not one but 4 times. Normally I would not write a bad review, but this is the 4th time I've had a bad experience. What makes it even worse is I have had the car for 8 months. I have a loaner more than my actual car. ... The problem was NOT with the service performed on the vehicle. The problem(s) were the inability to reach someone at the service department. Time will tell if they actually fixed the last issue. After calling several times, getting an answering machine, leaving messages, I had to go to the website to ask someone to call me or call back again after not receiving a return call. On more than one occasion, I was told my car would be finished on "Wednesday" and received no communication that day, or the day after, but 2 days later when it was finally finished. In addition, I bought the certified pre-owned vehicle in August 2014 with the tint on it. When I asked if it was legal, I was told yes by the sales rep, George. So when I was pulled over for tint 1 month later, I called the dealership and asked that they remove it because a.) I asked before I purchased if it was legal and b.) I was given 10 days to get it removed. I am not sure if this is out of ordinary or an odd request. Had I not asked before purchasing, I would have had it done elsewhere and paid for whatever the cost may be. The 3 other instances where the car was taken into service for various issues was within 7 months of purchasing the vehicle. This car has been one problem after another. After getting it inspected in February, not less than 3 weeks later the drive train malfunction light came on and the car stalled out while driving. So, like I said, the service department serviced the vehicle, but each and every time, it was a complete headache for me to try to reach someone and then once the vehicle was there, getting information on when the service would be complete. No one was proactive in letting me know, I had to call in to find out. Which in my opinion, is completely unacceptable. This is why this review was written; not after the 1st bad experience, not after the 2nd or 3rd, but after the 4th time. I also let Nancy know after the 3rd time, that she should NOT send me the review because of the issues I had previously. I attempted to let this problem remedy itself with the 4th visit and alas, the service was still deplorable and not what I had anticipated from this dealership. read more

What exactly is wrong with this place? down the owner have any idea how poorly its run? I call for a car that they just posted on their website and on auutotrader and when i called the very unmotivated sales person, said its sold. When I told him it was just listed and asked him to check. He took 5 sec and said "yup as i said it was wholesaled". I called back and spoke to another sales person who said the car was there and was available and would have someone call me back. But no one did. i sent and email and I send several "text on their website". But no one called back. So I would say that they could have the best car at bargain prices but i would NOT BUY from them. I've been purchasing Certified BMW vehicles from A & L for the last six years. The current 2011 is under maintenance warranty for a few additional years. Mike and his service staff are the best! They go out of their way to make sure that every detail is handled, expeditiously and with a smile. I can usually get in and out within several minutes, whether dropping off or picking up. I bought my first BMW here. I thought it would be a special experience. After hearing all kind of rave reviews for Bobby Rahal, I thought all BMW dealers would treat you the same way. I didn't feel any differently than going to any other dealership. I even had to pay for a bag of Doritos. The sales person was very nice, as was the person to go over the features of the car, but overall, nothing special. Maybe next time I should go to Bobby Rahal. read more

I own a Range Rover Sport and have had nothing but issues with A & L motors parts and service department in Monroeville. Most recently, I needed new brakes but they didn't have the part and after 4 days of calling they found it. I booked my service appointment weeks out and I assumed if they have a brake appointment they would have brakes. Further, I asked when I booked the appointment if they had a loaner, they told me no. They have kept my car so far a week, have not called to offer a loaner, and have not given a definitive date of when my car will be finished. Previous to this service appointment, when I went to buy a Range Rover, A&L sales booked an appointment to come in on a Thursday at 10 am. We came in, but there was nobody there to help us. We ended up taking ride with a mechanic and the car battery was dead. Because of such poor service, we left that dealership, drove directly to Washington D.C., and bought our Range Rover. The D.C. Range Rover follows up with us every 2-months, they are attentive and professional. They offer help whenever we need it when we come to town. Unfortunately, we have few options for dealer services for our Range Rover. Our Rover has done great which beats the normal review about the vehicle. If we had better service our review would reflect it. I have escalated the treatment of A&L to the North American Press Office for Range Rover and nobody has responded. I have further left a message for Range Rover parts and service at the HQ to get some help and no response. My summation of A&L's demeanor and their infrastructure; is attitude reflects leadership. If the Corporation ignores and has ill-treatment for its customers then why should dealers act any differently? This behavior is not typical of my experience in the UK. In the UK, sales and service are very attentive, always had a loaner of equal or better quality, and are prompt with service and explanation and done on time. I had been a customer of Land Rover/Range Rover UK for 12 years and it's sad to say that the flag on my homeland-U.S.A., is less than average. It will take a change in culture by Land Rover/Range Rover North America and A&L Monroeville to keep me from jumping over to another brand that offers competitive machinery with greater service. I have a 2014 Range Rover that was delivered to me in September 2013. I've had three years of experience with Land Rover/Jaguar service at A&L, and honestly, if it made financial sense to get rid of the Range Rover just to never deal with their service again, I would do it. When I ordered the vehicle in a "non-standard" color (to them this means anything but white, silver or black), the sales manager required me to put down additional money because he was convinced I wouldn't want it when I saw it. I found this incredibly insulting. To further the insult, when my husband ordered a "non-standard" color Jaguar, this extra deposit was not required. In December 2013, my husband slid on some ice and damaged the back end of my RR. A&L couldn't get us in even to just assess the safety of the car for a month. I was left finding another collision center to handle it. Shortly after that, the car began having problems, so we took it to A&L, where they kept it for WEEKS trying to just figure out what the problem was. A technician from Land Rover, who services the entire east coast, had to be brought in to find the problem. Weeks. Every other service appointment I've had stretches from "pick it up at the end of the day" to "we'll try to have it ready tomorrow." The service manager has explained that this is because all parts have to be ordered-- they don't keep anything in stock. Buyer beware. I've been treated poorly by a man who didn't seem to want to wash the car, despite the fact that I bought into their VIP program. Told me I didn't want to wash it because it was too cold and the locks would freeze shut, and tried hard to talk me out of it, even though I explained to him that the car is kept in an attached garage. When the car is washed, it's rarely done well. Usually the back of the car is still dirty, like what you get in a drive-through wash. The latest incident, and the one that has prompted this review, happened last week. I needed a new tail light after a minor accident and I scheduled state inspection, oil change, and a basic review of the car at the same time. The car went in on Wednesday and we retrieved it on Friday. I went out of town over the weekend and into mid-week, but when I drove the car again, we discovered that the tail light doesn't work. Just doesn't work. So it's back to the dealer we go, in the hopes that it's just a connection problem... or they'll keep my car again. Service is pretty poor for what I paid for the vehicle. I brought in my car to have the radio recoded due to an audio problem. I checked before I brought it in with the technician to make sure this was something they could do and they assured me they could do it. After dropping it off today could not call the radio, however they charged me two hours of labor plus a diagnostic fee so I was charged almost $400 and nothing was fixed at all. When I ask what was going on, I was told by the receptionist their suggestion was to pay $3500 for a new radio. Trying to talk to a tech was near impossible since they almost exclusively discuss issues via text message now. Ironically, they sent me a text survey the next day asking how my service experience was. When I replied I was disappointed, they never followed up. This review is actually for Jaguar but they don't have a separate profile. I purchased a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace S here in July of 2016. I had custom ordered it two months earlier. My wife and I loved it. In May of 2017 I hit a deer on the freeway that was unavoidable. I immediately had it towed to A&L for repair. It has now been 4 months and the repairs are not complete. The staff keeps giving me the runaround. After 45 days my insurance would no longer provide a loaner vehicle. After many calls A&L agreed to provide me with a loaner car as they had promised earlier. They gave me a 2015 Honda Civic with the A&L logo on the windshield which I have been driving for 5 weeks. They sell Jaguar, Land Rover and BMW. Have never seen a Honda on the lot. I had to go on a trip to New York a couple of weeks ago with my family. I asked for a better loaner and was denied. I had to rent a car out of pocket to make the trip. The only person that has been helpful is actually the salesman I bought the car from Jeff Yueng. If you buy a car here do not take it to collision department. The estimate has doubled since the initial. They are trying to make sure the insurance company is going to approve their massive supplemental estimate before I can pick up the car regardless of whether it is finished. I will go back to Bobby Rahal next time. Update: After the car was finished a week they finally got their paperwork together for the insurance company. My insurance company hand delivered them a check so they would bring the car to me prior to leaving on another work trip last Tuesday. They said they would have the car to me by noon. Noon came and went and no car and no phone call. After calling several numbers I finally reached the Fixed operations manager at 1:30 PM. Turns out that they had started to bring it to me and there was a leak in the radiator hose they missed. Had to take it back and fix it. I again had to leave without my car. They don't seem to care about their customers. read more

We currently have three cars from A&L BMW, the most recent of which was purchased one week ago. I cannot say enough good things about the experiences that we have had on the purchase/sales end and most importantly, the reliable and consistent quality of service. We have appreciated having a loaner while repairs and service are being performed. Our vehicles are always washed upon completion. Prices are fair and most always covered by BMW warranty work. We have bought our last 5 BMW's from them and we see no end in sight. I must give a special shout out to Brandon Repovz and Joe Welsh, two vastly knowledgeable product and sales reps, and the ever so helpful and available GM, Nate Paul. So I'm going to keep this simple. Bought 3 cars here all within a 3 year span... They don't check your tires ever!! First car.. X3 MSport, ....It just left the shop for service. 3 days later a tire blew out. They were all 4 down to the cords, they never told me. Had to get the car towed. Next car.....328i ....How do you inspect a car if you can't get the tires off from the bolts being rusted on?? You don't.....3rd car..... 528i....buy it, put 6,000 miles on it, needs a front end alignment, that's $200. Tire is chewed up and they dont even tell me!! The molding came off in the back and 1 brake pad was gone. They will get every dollar out of you that they can. I am not in the car business, this is why I pay them to do this....I can no longer put my trust in these people to keep me and my family safe on the road. On Thursday October 12th, I had an appointment with Land Rover Monroeville to diagnose a suspension noise in my 2012 Range Rover Super Charged. I had the front two struts replaced at another dealer recently, and ever since the replacements were installed, I have been experiencing a knocking noise on driver side when going over small bumps. I took it back to the dealer who installed the struts, and they were unable to pinpoint the origin of the noise. The 2nd time I took it back, the dealer suggested I replace the suspension bushings, (which are not covered by my CPO warranty). I wanted to obtain a 2nd opinion, since I found it very coincidental that the noise only appeared AFTER the strut replacement. I had the pleasure of meeting Anthony Hogue, the service manager when I went to the dealership. He took the time to ride in the car with me, to help pinpoint the noise, (AT 5:30PM). I was very impressed that he was still there working after 5PM, in addition to fact that he was genuinely determined to help me solve the problem. He made me feel as if I was his only client, which is so rare these days. He made sure I had a loaner car, and was not inconvenienced. Anthony called me the next morning to inform me that they found the problem to be in the strut that was installed, and that it was not tightened all the way. Simple fix, at no charge. I was so impressed that this dealer, who did not sell me the car, and did not know me, made me feel like my problem was their main priority. I got the car back very clean, the noise is gone, and I had a bill of ZERO dollars. I AM AN EXTREMELY SATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!! Outstanding Dealer. I came to A&L after several bad visits to Laurel BMW, who I will never do business with again, and I am used to doing business with Braman Motorcars of West Palm Beach FL, a world class dealer and one of the best I've seen in my 49 years, so I hope that puts this review in to perspective. We have a much loved E46 M3 and took it in to be brought up to spec by the techs at A&L. From my first contact with Nancy over the phone I had a good feeling about the service. She was extremely pleasant and understanding about what I expected and how well we care for our car. Once there, Dale and Gary were a great help and made sure everything was properly taken care of, even while working through obscure problems with the complicated SMG transmission. Zach and Brian were my techs, so many thanks to them! Glen at the window set me up with a loaner and my car came back clean and shifting perfectly again. Joe (product specialist) and his boss were great as well, and Joe even helped find the horsepower rating at the rear wheels direct from a dynamometer readout, which was pretty exciting to learn. Alex in sales was very relaxed and pleasantly ready to help without being at all intrusive. I had some nice conversations with Kim in the front, and even Mike and a few other guys in the back were ready to make sure I was completely happy and comfortable. I even stuck around and had lunch with them while I waited for the car. I understand the showroom is being renovated soon and I'm looking forward to seeing it. I hope its nice because it needs an upgrade to go with the level of service you see here. I feel at home at A&L and I think it shows coming from someone who is not usually very good with names. If I could give zero stars I would. Walter belittled my wife on the phone when she simply asked about delivery. He became very defensive and rude. Went from wanting to purchase a car to never wanting to deal with them again. I rarely leave negative reviews however feel it was necessary in this instance. If someone is willing to give you business you should treat them with respect and not belittle them because they got their information wrong about what your company offers. The service department at this dealership has gone way downhill. We started taking my car here 6 years ago, and even though the service department wasn't always speedy, they at least would answer their phones or call us back. We tried to call A and L in June 2019 at least 4-5 times and left a message each time and no one ever called us back so we took our car elsewhere. We are needing service again so my husband called last week and was supposed to receive a call back from the service department and no one has ever called. I guess we will permanently be switching to Bobby Rahal's dealership. read more

I was told that it was available, and I said that we live an hour away, but my husband was within 30 minutes and would be right over to buy it. He arrived within 30 minutes and was told that it just sold, but asked to look at others. It sounds like the bait and switch to me. read more

We have had nothing but problems with this company. We are buying a new vehicle so we don't Have to deal with this company. It's the only convenient BMW dealership close to home, hence why we will be buying a new car - so we don't have to deal with them. We have had many issues, from my car sitting out front in the parking lot (waiting to be picked up) but them making me wait an hour to argue me that it isn't my car meanwhile I went and looked at the license plate and it was. They were supposed to fix something on my car, I pick it up, a day or so later the check engine light is back on for same issue (read the code). And they can't get me in until 3 days from now meanwhile they need to make this right asap being it's on them. Just terrible customer service, and they have a 'too bad' attitude. Also, theres a rattle under the hood, they had the car 2-3 times to fix it. They tell us sorry but that's just how it sounds (which is bs) We pay alot of money to have nothing but top so it still rattles to this day, months later. We pay for not only the brand but top notch service and to deal with top notch people and we get none of that. This past weekend, my wife and I took our search for a new car to the A&L Motors BMW dealership in Monroeville, PA. It was perhaps the best move that we could have made. Despite the fact that we were in the market for a Certified, Pre-Owned vehicle, we were treated by the entire A&L staff, in both the BMW and Jaguar/Land Rover facilities, with the utmost of professionalism, courtesy, respect and warmth. Special call-outs are extended to two exceptional individuals: Robert (Bob) Zimmerman, Jaguar/Land Rover Sales Guide, and Nick Bolkovac, Product Specialist/Genius and Technical Guru. During the two days that my wife and I spent at the dealership considering several options, models and profiles Bob went out of his way to accommodate our requirements, including pulling several cars from inventory for us to examine and test drive. Low keyed and without ANY pressure whatsoever, Bob appeared motivated by, and far more interested in meeting our particular needs than he was in selling an automobile, a RARE quality in any sales-commissioned position today, but especially in the automotive business. Never once did Bob exhibit impatience (although he would have been warranted to so do) but rather exuded an "I'm here to serve you" attitude despite our (changing) objectives. It was precisely this customer-committed perspective, his desire to find the right vehicle for us, and his willingness to negotiate rationally and professionally with our targeted price that ultimately led to our purchasing a BMW 535i. Both my wife and I are thrilled with the car and deeply appreciative of Bob's indulgence and service. As with Bob Zimmerman, Nick Bolkovac was absolutely and fully dedicated to providing us with the level of knowledge that we sought ... delivering clearly, succinctly and extremely comprehensible descriptions of, and instructions for the use of, the features that each model represented. AS these features were discussed, Nick move forward to the next only after assuring himself, by having us execute each of the functions, that we truly understood how to use the particular option being covered. Nick is a great teacher who exhibits a superb balance of technical excellence and superior interpersonal skills. He is warm, human and humane! In that both my wife and I have recurring back issues, for us there was a special need, that of individually adjustable and formidable lumbar support mechanisms on both the driver and passenger side seats. This proved to be a significant challenge for my wife, who is both small and light of frame, and had great difficulty adjusting the driver side seat for visibility and comfort. From both sales and technical support sides of the A&L dealership, but especially with Nick's unwavering dedication, perseverance and "I will get this resolved" attitude, she received incredible support, personal involvement, and a most caring attitude that refused to give up until a solution was, in fact, achieved. I've been taking my BMW's here for service for quite a while - not because they do superior work to other dealers but because its the most convenient dealer for me. I've been impressed with the quality of their work (I would expect that from any BMW dealer), their comfortable waiting area, the cordial treatment, the availability of top notch loaners (new X3's are typical), and their thoroughness. But they're not perfect - I've had a few issues but for the most part, every one has been resolved to my benefit - they seem to care a LOT about customer perception and customer service. Any complaint is usually followed up by management involvement and an attempt to make things right. That being said, the service rates are expensive. I think my dentist's hourly rate is less. At $114 per hour for labor, it doesn't take long to rack up some serious charges on non warranty work. Up until recently, they had free power bars, trail mix packages, baskets full of delightful snacks, bottled water, and Starbucks coffee in the waiting area. At first, I tried to make up for the steep labor rates by consuming equivalent quantities of the freebies. It made me feel like I was getting a little even...but just for a short time. Within an hour, after consuming several "Venti" sized Starbucks, a few granola bars, some trail mix, and using their free wifi, i hardly made a dent in it. I mean, I might have sucked up $30 worth of goodies, and for that brief moment of realization that I had actually accomplished something, the residual feeling of nausea proved the folly of my approach. I've abandoned that strategy - with their help. No more free snacks. But the Starbucks is stil there. I've learned to accept the charges and the free Tall coffee and move on with a contented stomach and a lighter wallet. read more

They laugh at you and tell you they are still working on your car and they will call you. I have called and left messages and have got no calls back. Don't go here. They give horrible service and will not call you back if the vehicle is older or if you are perceived as not the right "type" of person. read more

They DO NOT return phone calls, a place touting its luxury brand cars and thinking a dismissive attitude is what its clients deserve. Bought two BMW's from this place and the nonsense service never fails. Today's experience takes the cake. Anyone who buys a new BMW knows that their car sends a signal when service is due. They start calling and emailing weeks in advance just so you come to their dealership and not another BMW dealership. The car also sends a signal for what needs done. In this case it was an oil change and an air filter. I finally call to schedule the service a week ahead of time and make an appointment to go in. Fine. Sounds easy enough. Drive 35-40 miles from home to get the car serviced. During the service visit the service rep comes to hand me my keys and says they changed the oil but they don't have a filter for it. WHAT! The car is smart enough to tell them what service needs completed, but the service department isn't smart enough to have the parts in stock. Great job A&L. Keep up the poor service and wasting my time! Back to Johnstown! Last Beemer we buy. read more

Had Ryan at my last service appointment and he was wonderful 5/5 stars. He was very attentive to my requests and I don't blame him a bit. On the other hand, it's two times now for me something goes wrong in other facets of their service. Hence the mediocre rating. Granted some people may think my complaints are trivial but when we are dealing with a luxury brand like BMW, you expect excellence in every facet of the experience. The first problem was one time they did not have a loaner for me on a work day when I reserved it 3 weeks prior. So had to cancel my service appointment and reschedule on another work day. To be honest that really pissed me off. All of our time is important and they dropped the ball on that. The second was I had my last service on my car and they had the car all day because I went to work. When I picked it up, and they brought the car for me to leave , nothing had been cleaned. I had dirty mats and interior, dirty tires from the tire change, dirty exterior. I even asked at the time of drop off if they would clean the mats and the person said yes. So after a long work day , I had to tell the service department to please wash the car. Why as the customer, do I have to ask anyone anyways? Isn't this a luxury brand? Where is the quality of service that I paid for? No one even apologized either. A and L BMW is my local dealership and I really wished the service was better, and it's really a shame that I always have to consider taking my car to another dealer for service and even when I'm considering purchasing a new car, even though sales is different than service, these experiences trickle to my impression of the other departments. But because it's the closest dealer I end up defaulting my choice to take my car there, with a mindset that something will likely go wrong. They really need to run a tighter ship, and the owner needs to have their staff be a lot friendlier too if they want to be successful. read more

Went to A&L for State inspection and was very disappointed. Service Advisor (Mike) never called me about the status of my car, so I texted him at 5PM on a Friday. He said they did the inspection, but it needed brakes and planned to keep car over the weekend. That didn't work for me, so I picked-up my car Friday night and then had to take it back Monday AM. Asked Mike to rotate my tires, since the tires would be off for the brake job. Again, I had to text Mike for the status of my car around 2PM, Mike said the car was done, but he was going to have it washed. I asked if the tires were rotated. The answer was no, because the Tech said they didn't need to be rotated. Very disappointed at this point, so I said don't wash my car I'll get it right now. Arrived at A&L and they couldn't find my car - it was in the car wash ! Brown water spots all over my car - I think they must use recycled water in their car wash. Mike may be the worst service advisor I have ever encountered. No apology ! P&W treats it's customers much better. read more

Purchased a pre-owned 2019 BMW a year ago from Jeff H. Love, Love, Love the automobile. The dealership......not so much. Jeff H. told me that if I found anything that wasn't satisfactory, A&L would try to make it right. Next day after, found a small ding above driver handle on door. Took it back to service and they said they would see what they could do - short of replacing the door- but they would need to schedule me. My response, "that's reasonable". Since that day, I called three times and service delayed me and never called back. The first time, the SVC mgr promised to call back in a few days. Each time after, the SVC manager was "unavailable". Ultimately, I was ok with if they said, "hey, we can't fix it" but to simply ignore a new customer is unacceptable. We refuse to return to A&L even though they are literally in our neighborhood. Instead, we take our BMW into the 'Burgh for service and have had ZERO problems with P&W in the city. Maybe they should have spent $$$ upgrading their customer service instead of new facilities. Those are only as good as the people running them. Avoid the service dept. Yet another warning. read more

Worst service. I've had issues with my land rover that have not been fixed. Service is horrible.

I have been bringing my wife's 1987 BMW 528 for service since being transferred back to Pittsburgh over 20 years ago. I purchased this car new when we lived in Atlanta, GA. Her car has approximately 62,000 original miles on it and we try to keep it in MINT CONDITION. Thanks to A&L Motors and their staff we have been able to achieve that. This review is for their SERVICE DEPARTMENT - Get ready for the UPSELL! Just when you think you're going in for a $100 oil change, your service advisor tells you there are $3000 worth of "NECESSARY" repairs. DON'T FALL FOR IT. These guys are notorious for selling you service you don't need, just to make a few extra bucks. You are better off going with a third party repair facility. read more

Took my car in for brakes. They told me lug nuts were stripped, cross threaded and needed whole new hub assembly. Told me that Mr Tire the one next to Kings must have did it when they put new tires on which was a year ago. Cost $600. Of course Mr Tire said BMW must have done it. Whatever. Would definately not go to Mr Tire beside Kings again. Probably will buy a Benz next read more
