I leased my beloved Mini from a dealership in Colorado, but have since moved to Pennsylvania, so when it came due for service I headed into this dealership. Scheduling the appointment was easy, and they did a great job with my car. I love my maintenance-included lease almost as much as I love my Mini itself. The only downside was that they were swamped, and as a result servicing my car took 3.5 hours instead of the anticipated two. On the bright side, the waiting area is comfortable, and they did a great job keeping me updated so I never felt forgotten about. They also threw in the not-included tire rotation to make up for it. Not a big deal-- next time I'll just schedule an appointment with a loaner instead of planning to sit and wait. I realized I was having problems with my BlueTooth while I was literally on my way out, and one of the employees was kind enough to help me get it sorted out. The also called me this morning to make sure everything was satisfactory. I shouldn't need service for my car soon, but when I do I won't have any qualms about returning to this location. read more

I brought my 2009 Mini Cooper S there because my convertible roof wasn't working. The technician looked at my car for approximately 30 minutes. They presented me an estimate for almost $9,000! They said the entire roof needed replaced; no way to fix it. Thank God I refused to authorize the repair. I found another repair shop in Moon township for a second opinion. They told me all it needs is the motor needs replaced. Really??? They told the part would be approximately $1,300 and was coming from Germany and would take 7-10 days. No problem for me. When the car was finished, I went to pick it up and to my surprise, the part was actually a little less and they only charged me $250 in labor!!!! I saved over $7,500. Scheduled my first service on car I bought new from dealer. Scheduled a couple weeks in advance and was told no loaner car available unless I booked over a month in advance. Told them on phone I needed state inspection. They didn't tell me there was a recall on car that would have to be done before state inspection. So when I showed up I was told anywhere from an hour to 3 hours for recall work to be done, extending my wait. Note I arrived early to get my assigned 10am slot for work. At 10:40 I got a video of car indicating that car had only been taken for service at 10:38. So basically service here is awful. If you have another option take it. I went to another mechanic and it was $900 to fix the issue. They will take your money and blame you for the vehicle issues. If you need a dealership, the guys in Buffalo NY do great work. They were nice and super easy to deal with. The loaner process was a breeze because my clutch went out , my car was going to be there for a good while. The clutch replacement in my 2011 countryman was $3998 with the Yelp 10% off. I do get the idea that they were lying about all they said was wrong about it because mini tells you when brakes and such are going bad and I had no warnings, but they claimed I needed over $9000 in repairs. They also said they topped off all fluids which is a lie as well, again because the car tells you. my other car when I take it in they return it cleaned(outside) and they don't do that and mini is supposed to be a more up there car. I'm not sure where the deceit lies, if it's with the repairmen or the guys at the desk(who were so nice) but I'll be getting a second look by my normal shop. read more

From the moment we walked in we received excellent Customer service. The person we talked with was named Joy. She was a Joy to work with. My husband told her what we were looking for and she took us for a test drive. Mini's are a blast to drive. I wanted a 2 door because it would be my official Empty Nester car. I was looking at buying a 3 door Clubman when a 2 door Cooper came in. The 2 door Cooper won my heart. We talked with Joy about a few things we wanted added on to the car. One of those things was racing stripes. Before I knew it I was a Mini owner. Everyone who works at the dealership is extremely friendly. I was charged for work not done. Oil was not changed in my car, spark plugs not changed, breaks not flushed, sway bar bushings not changed but charged to my warranty company, asked to commit insurance fraud for water damage that's nonexistent, did not fix problem with windows. I am a huge Mini fan. I went in wanting to upgrade from my 2007 Mini Cooper to a new Cooper or maybe move up to a Countryman. I went in and told them I love my Mini and there was no need to try to talk me into one because I know what they're like. I was immediately talked down to about how little I knew about the new Minis. After a few minutes of talking to the salesman I found him very condescending and it completely killed my eagerness to get a new Mini. I do have to thank the salesman for one thing though. Very disappointed in service relating to run flat tires purchased and mounted here, both of which developed flats (sidewall holes) that could not be repaired very shortly after the Continental warranty expired. I do not feel that I received value for my $500 investment and found Mini of Pittsburgh's reaction to my concerns to be inadequate, bordering on indifference. I was left with the impression that these tires are not suitable for road conditions around here. I am switching to standard, less expensive tires, and buying elsewhere, so that a flat will not be such a catastrophe from a financial perspective . I would not recommend this dealership. Went there to look at a used Mini, stated my interest but had a few questions. Sales rep said car went through their shop and was ready to go. So I asked for the show breakdown sheet to see what may have been repaired, brake status, tire tread etc. to see if any possible near future costs I may incur. Sales rep said they did not have that form in the file but could give to me Monday (ok fine). Next in the photo the car had roof rack bars which were now gone. I asked, where are they? they stated someone before me was to purchase didn't want them so they removed, then that sale did not happen (ok). I left dealership to wait for Monday info, no contact. I reached out again stating my interest and could price be negotiated since roof rack gone and where is repair spec sheet? no response? reached out again, email, no response. Emailed the manager. response, rep is off today, car is sold would I be interested in something else... uh no, your sales rep never contacted me at all. I replied with my grievances to the Manager, still waiting to hear. Seems if you don't buy it the day you are there they feel no need to contact you. They could have at least emailed me Monday or whatever day saying, Hey the car was sold why we were checking on your inquiries. I did not expect them to hold it. Communication would be nice. During this experience I did get the impression that since I was not buying that day they had not interest in talking to me. On an additional note, this was me giving this dealership a second try because as many reviewers on here, I to had huge issues with their service department. They are not good. My wife had 4 tires put on in December. The technician forgot to tighten the stem valves. The tire was ruined and we were promised reimbursement for the cost of the tire. Fast forward to April and, despite contacting them many time and getting many assurances that the refund as "on the way" we have still received nothing. I recently traded my MINI Cooper, great condition, excellent car for the past 4 years. I was thinking about a new Cooper for a few months, called the dealership and was put in touch with Joy Hoffman in sales. Joy and I talked briefly on the phone and I made an appointment to stop by the dealership and discuss specifics for what I was looking for in a new MINI Cooper. Joy was professional, knowledgeable, patient (I had lots of questions!) and spent much time with me to help me in this process. We took a test drive and she showed me all of their available inventory, all the while asking questions to help me focus on my "must have's" and "nice to have's", answering my questions in depth and very thoughtfully. Never did I feel rushed or pressured. After some deliberation about a few upgrades, Joy discussed my list of "must have's" with manager Chris and he located a beautiful Pepper White, manual transmission Cooper at another dealership and I drove my new car home in 2 days! We had a lovely talk with a salesman there while we were waiting and have no complaints with them. We have a 2005 Mini Cooper S with only 60450 miles that has been maintained from the get go. We did not buy her here, but the original owner, who is a relative, did. We purchased her some 5 years ago when she was traded in elsewhere. We live in WV which is a 1 1/2 hr. trip to the dealership on a good day, but it is the only one within a reasonable travel distance. We took our Mini to our local garage for a WV state inspection on Thurs. Dec. 7. She failed inspection due to the windshield washer fluid not working, everything else was fine according to them. So they put a 5 day rejection sticker on. We called Mini of Pittsburgh that day and got an appointment for Mon. 12/11 for what we thought would be a simple replacement of the pump. (lines weren't clogged and motor was running) After 3 hours of waiting on said repair, we were informed that yes, the pump needed replaced. Also she needed lower control arm bushings and there was one dry rotted tire that needed to be replaced. We were unsure about this due to low miles, but she had been sitting outside for the better part of 12 years so we said OK. However they had none of these parts in stock!?!?!?! They could get them sent over night and we needed to make another appointment to come back. We couldn't come on Tues. so made the appointment for Wed. morning Dec. 13. Arrived early and waited. After 5 hours we ask about the status as we were hoping to get out of Pittsburgh before rush hour and the snow that was expected at 3:00. We were THEN told that they were still working on it AND they did not have a tire to fit!!!!!!! They did get us a rental car so we could go home, but by this time it was both rush hour and snowing so we crawled out of Pittsburgh, arriving home 11 hours after we left home. We called Mini on Thurs. and were told that their truck didn't come in because of the weather. We called Fri. as wanted the car back tire or no tire. They THEN told us that yes, they got the tire and put it on, BUT they DID NOT have the windshield washer pump, which was the one thing that we went there for in the first place that we HAD to have to pass WV State inspection and it was NOW illegal to drive in WV as the 5 day rejection had expired. They can get it Mon. Dec. 18 and we can keep the rental over the weekend. OK, we have no choice at this point. When we called Mon. before noon we were told they were fixing it and it would be ready to pick up at 5:00. To their credit, they did contact us around 1:00 to say it would be ready sooner. So we left 1:30 for our third trip to Pittsburgh and it was done when we got there. They gave us 10% off the charges since it took so long, but that was poor compensation for all the wasted time, travel, and gas money etc. it cost us. This discount also negated the $25 off repairs coupon that I had gotten for a "Christmas gift" from them. Another crawl out of Pittsburgh in rush hour traffic and rain this time. We got home at 7:00 that night. Too late to stop for the inspection sticker, so back Tues. morn. and obtained it. Car is running well. Just the facts here....draw your own conclusions. read more

I've been a Mini owner since 2005, long before I moved to Pittsburgh, so this is not where I bought my car. But this is where I choose to go to get my car serviced. Since they are the only Mini dealer in the Pittsburgh area, it seems a little bit silly to write a review of them, but I felt like they probably deserved at least one on their Yelp page! Especially since with the shiny new renovation, they are finally their own dealership with their own showroom instead of some shady-looking extension of P&W BMW, across the street, who owns them. When I bring my car in for service, everyone is friendly and very accomodating, even when I have last minute requests. They are also very realistic about the time they will need and always stay in touch about the status of your Mini. They provide a free loaner if you request one, but what's special about them is that all of their loaners are Minis. I had to appreciate this even more after my dad rolled up to my apartment one day in a Nissan loaner that he was given while his car was being serviced at the Porsche dealership. Come on now. If you drive a Mini, you know how weird it is to drive a "normal" car after getting used to its quirks, so I love that I don't have to sacrifice for even a minute. Plus, on my most recent visit, I got to take a Countryman out for the day! Now that everyone and their grandmother drives a Mini Cooper, it was kind of fun to drive a car that was such an attention-grabber on the road (def saw some people creeping on it in the Century III Mall parking lot, haha). Reminded me of when I got my first Mini and people used to stop me and ask "What IS that?!" Though some of the services I get here can probably be done elsewhere for a cheaper price, I don't mind paying a premium because I trust they will do an excellent job and I feel better having someone who knows Minis work on my little guy. Maybe I'm biased since I'm on my second Mini and a huge fan of the brand, but I would recommend this dealership to anyone who is even the least bit curious about owning a Mini. I moved home to PA from Maryland, so I started taking my Mini to Mini of PGH and I won't go back. One appointment, I waited HOURS to have my car serviced and missed nearly a full day of work because they had no more loaner cars available. Then, a few months later, I scheduled another appointment so they could look at why my check engine light kept coming on. This time, I decided to have them pick up my car at work in Cranberry and drop off a loaner (since I live over an hour away from Mini of PGH). I asked the gentleman who picked up my car if Kerri and team could keep me posted on the work. He said he'd pass the word on - but I never got a single update. In the past, I've never had to ask service garages to keep me posted, they just do. The only time I received a call was several days later when a woman called me asking for payment. I didn't even know what work was done! I asked her if she knew if my car was done and she rudely said, "Well, I'm calling for payment, so, yeah, it's done." My car was returned to me at work early in the afternoon so I didn't start it until I left work later that day. Big mistake! My gaslight came on immediately so I had to stop and get gas right away. When my car was picked up it had almost a full tank. I followed the loaner car agreement. Why can't they make sure my car had at least some gas? And why was it near empty in the first place? Also, the black paint is literally peeling off my passenger side view mirror. It was not like this prior to having it serviced at Mini. I am VERY disappointed in my experiences and will not be taking my car there anymore. I've sent Kerri 2 emails about my issues (with photos) and haven't heard a word. Really great customer service!! You're better off finding another place to have your Mini taken care of. (PS My check engine light is still on. But they DID replace the light bulb above my license plate.) #priorities read more

My beloved British green mini roadster, from the sunshine state needed an oil change. I was currently residing in Pittsburgh, roughly 1,100 miles away from home. I passed the local mini dealership, they took my car in that very day, without an appointment. Additionally, offered me a curtosey shuttle ride to UPMC hospital and called me several hours later with my curtosey return ride to the dealership. Amount paid: zero. They honored my extended mini maintained plan, on the curtosey inspection they noticed a small oil leak from a high pressured oil cyliniod and they ordered the replacement part and scheduled an appointment to replace it. When I dropped the car off at the set appointment, they arranged for a 2015 loaner car and called my extended warranty contract and got a pre approval for the repair. They called me the following day, the repair was complete and done. I drove away a happy customer, just paying my deductible. Several weeks later before I was ready for my return trip to Florida, I dropped off the vehicle, again no appointment. I asked them to check all the fluids, to make sure it is road worthy for the long trip back to Florida. The next morning at 9am the service advisor called me and said the front bushings were showing signs of wear and tear and needed replacing. They already had contacted the extended warranty program and got a pre approval, and also flushed my break fluids under the same program free of charge. 3:00 the following day the car was complete, all fluids topped off, the car was vacuumed and washed ready to drive to Florida. The staff was courteous and professional, I would highly recommend their service department, I was very impressed with them especially being an out of state customer. It's November 11th, getting cold heading back to Florida, thanks to Pittsburgh mini dealer. read more
