Our refrigerator died just a few days before we were scheduled to leave on vacation and our repair person recommended A&M Appliance. Our repair person (not affiliated with A&M) called A&M to find out if they had the brand/size refrigerators available for us to purchase and they did so we went straight there. A&M had refrigerator models ready for us to look at and within minutes, we had our questions answered, we paid for the refrigerator and delivery was scheduled for the SAME DAY at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!!!! AND THEY ALSO TOOK AWAY THE OLD REFRIGERATOR AT NO CHARGE TO US!!!! I've never had a better, less stressful purchase of an appliance! Thank you Wayne and Jean!! In case you are wondering, A&M is not like some of the other stores, they do not have a fancy showroom, but they have great products, competitively priced and FREE delivery and FREE removal of your old appliance. You can't beat this! And best part is they don't try to sell you things you don't want. And about the delivery. The two gentlemen came within hours of our purchase to first remove our old refrigerator and then deliver and completely set up our new refrigerator. When they left, all I had to do was put our food back in. They were careful and respectful of our home, making sure they didn't scratch the walls, cabinets or floors. And when the new refrigerator was in, they made sure it was balanced and level and the protective film inside and out was completely removed. I have purchased appliances from others and that is not the case! I've had to do that myself! And before they left, they showed us how everything works. I can't recommend them enough! read more

I recently contacted A&M on Friday to diagnose an issue with my gas oven. The receptionist took my information and said she'd call back with an appointment time. She did indeed call and said they could be here the following Tuesday. Two minutes later she called back to say the owner told her to cancel the call as they would not do the service. When I asked why the women said there was a note from a previous visit to fix my refrigerator five years ago. At that time the tech tore my new linoleum when pulling out the refrigerator, obviously it wasn't on purpose but it happened. They didn't offer to have it repaired and I did pay for the appliance repair. Cannot understand why he would turn away business but you can be sure they will NEVER get a call from me again. We bought a house and a month later our fridge stopped working. My husband arranged for A & M to come out and take a look. I was not home when A&M arrived, because I was not aware of the appointment. When I arrived home to meet the man, I asked him to call my husband so he could explain about the fridge. This made the appliance repair man, the owner of A&M angry for some reason? He refused, and then decided that he did not want to move forward with the repair service. He then stormed out of me house and into his truck slamming the door behind him. Needless to say, my fridge is still broken and It put a real damper on my afternoon. I would not recommend this company. The owner is Quite rude and unprofessional. read more

Looking for an appliance repair company that offers rude and inconsiderate customer service generously provided by a rude, impatient, downright nasty owner with an incredibly bloated sense of self-importance? Look no further! A & M Appliance and owner Wayne is a perfect match for you! When our washing machine started making "death rattle" sounds, I called A & M to set up an appointment. Because I was still recovering from 2 spinal cord surgeries over the previous 2 weeks, my husband took on the responsibility of meeting Wayne when he came to the house, and requested that A & M call him 30 minutes before Wayne got to the house. Wayne arrived 10 minutes before my husband because A & M called him 20 minutes before Wayne rang the doorbell a couple of times and woke me up from a very needed rest. When I finally got to the door explained that my husband was not yet home, Wayne very defensively said that my husband had gotten the 20 minute notice call, and said he needed to come inside and look at our washer. When I explained that as a result of surgery I was not feeling well, Wayne sarcastically said he wasn't feeling well either. He was very surly, rude, and told me unless he could come in to look at the machine, I should find someone else to do the work. He angrily got into his truck and drove off, just about 4 minutes before my husband arrived. Given how nasty and rude Wayne is, it's hard to understand why he's still in business. Unless you are in need of a generous serving of Piss-n-Vinegar pie, don't waste your time calling A & M. read more

Thanks to A&M for honest and fair service! I needed a new motor for my dishwasher. Repairman today came to install it- we both assumed that something had fallen into the inner workings of the machine and broken the motor. But afterwards told me he'd found a bad wire in the machine and had called the owner, and since I'd bought the machine from them 2 years ago, Wayne said said to give me the motor for free and just charge for labor. They easily could have charged me full price because a) I would have never known about the broken wire and b) after he mentioned that, it still didn't occur to me that therefore I'd should get the motor for free. So kudos to A&M for running a local business that deserves loyalty from customers. I doubt that would happen with a big box store! I agree 100% with "Jenna M's" review below. read more

Finally, a fair and honest repair company that also sells products. I called them because my refrigerator was not working. (Already used this company to repair my gas stove). They came quickly and tried to get it up running with a part from another manufacturer since my refrigerator was old and there were no parts available. After a day, I knew it wasn't working right. They went out of their way to get me a new refrigerator as fast as possible. Up and running quickly, removed the old and delivered the new. Last thing, they did not change me for the service call! When it's 95 degrees outside, you have a baby at home, and your refrigerator breaks, the type of panic that sets in can be quite unpleasant. That was me, and for the second time since I moved into my new home, this local appliance store came to my rescue (I used them to replace a broken dishwasher a few months ago). Their prices matched those of the major appliance stores in the area, and they offered same-day delivery and installation, plus haul-away of the broken fridge for FREE. They also gave me a 10-year maintenance service plan for free because I called them to come asses the broken fridge and paid the service charge, then decided to use them for purchase. I always like to patronize family-owned and small businesses over the big guys, and A&M reminded me again what courteous, prompt, affordable service is all about. read more

I almost didn't call them because of a few recent bad reviews, but decided since I had work done by them a couple years ago, and they were great, I would give them a try. I am SO GLAD I did! We had a broken microwave oven that we thought would be cheaper to replace than to fix. We couldn't find one to match our oven, so decided to have the old one fixed. We were warned both by the woman who answers the phone, and the gentleman who came to do the repair, that they have a minimum fee and that it would probably cost us less to replace the microwave than to repair it! I told them I understood that and asked them to come anyway. Was warned repeatedly about their minimum fee. He came on Thursday, diagnosed the problem, returned the following Monday with a $25 part, and for less than $125, I have a working microwave again! I will NOT hesitate to call this company again! read more

I didn't even get the chance to gauge their actual service. They've earned 1 star from the customer service alone. I called in the beginning of June to initiate a service of getting a new microwave and having it replaced in our over the range setup. Told them there's a limitation with the cut-out in the cabinetry for where it's supposed to go. I explained the current woes of our setup, explaining how low cut it was and that we needed something hopefully small enough to 1) Fit the cutout and 2) rest higher than what we have now, so that our large stock pots aren't banging into the microwave. They told me to email them the dimensions and they would provide options. Notice I put beginning of June. I sent them the dimensions in the beginning of June as well. They responded the next day asking to confirm the height vs length. I clarified immediately. Heard nothing back after that. Sent a follow-up email the next week asking to proceed with some microwave recommendations so that I could get my microwave which does not work, replaced. No response. Left a voicemail the following week as there was no answer at the phone. No response. Called today and managed to get someone on the phone. Talked about my email from a month ago and asked if there was anything we could do, and she had to go searching for my email and found it. Shortly thereafter she said she would send over the microwaves that they supply that would fit. Surprisingly, I did get a response shortly thereafter, and there was one microwave suggested, and the height was far bigger than my current broken microwave. One suggested microwave for replacement. One. We're back at square one since I had mentioned explicitly the height challenges. I asked for alternative suggestions and was told they don't have any. I asked if I could then find a solution microwave myself and pay for the installation. The answer was "No, for liability reasons". Not sure what liability reasons there are if I pay for a service installation, but again some of these companies still live in the 90's and refuse to work if they're not profiting from the selling of hardware. I did emphasize that I was more than willing to buy THROUGH them if they could provide a microwave solution that I would be more than happy to pay their markup on. The implication thereafter seemed to be that there was little to no value for them to pursue any business with me with a "small time" need here. Especially since they couldn't easily and quickly find a microwave that fit the mold that I needed. The response: "I'm sorry you feel that way". Long story short, businesses that won't attempt to work with new customers, even at smaller scales portray a level of arrogance and lack of care that in today's day and age of technology, isn't acceptable and should be made aware for any new or prospective clients. I'll be happy to go to Sears and pay a corporation over smaller businesses if this is the result. read more

I recently called A & M to service a leaking refrigerator. The employees I spoke with were courteous and professional. The repairman was unable to diagnose the problem, but leveled the appliance and suggested putting vaseline on the seal. I looked at the unit (I have no prior repair experience) and determined that the ice maker was leaking. I purchased the unit online for $54 and replaced it with a screwdriver in 20 minutes. Problem solved. I still had to pay A & M the unreasonably high service call fee of $92 to level my refrigerator. I will not give the company any additional business. This was a very disappointing experience. read more

I loved working with this company. The office staff are really on top of things, got me an accurate quote quickly, and scheduled the repair within 3 days of my call. When I mentioned that I work 40 minutes away from my house, the office lady offered me a 1-hour advanced call to let me know when they were coming. The repairmen showed up on time (if not early) and the repair was completed in about 15 minutes. They weren't chatty, which is fine and probably helps get them through a lot of appointments in a single day. I will definitely call A&M for appliance work again in the future. read more

I opened my freezer door to find frost over everything and it looked like the Ice maker had been spitting water into the freezer compartment. First I called Electrolux, & they advised calling someone for service. I asked for any names they could supply around here and the first one was A&M. Called A&M & described the problem and the lady said, that often happens if the freezer door is left open a tiny crack; so just wipe everything off and make sure the door is well closed, and call us back if it keeps happening. Sure enough no more frost. They could have sent a repairman and gotten a house call fee, but instead helped me this way. These people have class. read more

I called A&M two days ago when my washing machine stopped full-cycle. Over the phone they helped me figure out how to drain the machine so that the water would not smell until they could arrive for this morning's appointment. The A&M folks answering the phone were helpful, honest and caring. The serviceman this morning arrived on time, replaced the lid switch in under 20 minutes, and the total cost was less than the estimates I received! Their customer service is terrible. Called on a Thursday to make an appointment to have my fridge looked at. Finally got a hold of someone on Saturday morning. First talked to a gentleman explaining the issues the fridge was having. He sent my call to a woman who booked an appointment for me for Monday from 12-2. Said they will call before they come out. So I took time off of work and nobody from A&M Appliances came or called. I finally called their place at 3:10 to be asked what the problem I was having again? No apology for not coming or at least calling in the timeframe I was given. This man proceeds to tell me that it sounds like the compressor and thats gonna run at least $600 and if not, the diagnostic testing will take hours. Sounds like he just didn't want to come. It is the absolute WORST customer service I have ever received. The woman even told us on Saturday to turn the fridge back on Monday morning for when they come out to look at it. So my fridge sat for 7 hours at a temperature of 66 degrees. Thanks for that use of electricity for no apparent reason!!!! read more
