We learned the hard way that many companies make big promises just to win your business. In our case, we had over $500,000 in fire and water damage, and it seemed like everyone else was more concerned about their profit margins than helping us. Some even tried to play games with the insurance company by requesting payment for items that weren't warranted. ASAP Restoration was completely different. They were honest, upfront, and transparent from day one. They took the time to review every budget, selection, and step of the process with us, making sure we understood everything along the way. The entire team is outstanding, and Josh, the owner, truly leads by example. He tells it like it is, doesn't overpromise, and works tirelessly to make sure things get done the right way. His communication is second to none,I'd much rather have someone who over-communicates than leaves me wondering what's happening. Our biggest delay wasn't ASAP at all, it was our mortgage company and lender taking their time to release funds. Before the plumber even arrived, three different restoration companies showed up at my door. The strange part? I never called any of them and nobody told me anyone was coming out. I did overhear one of the technicians I allowed in for a "free evaluation" on speakerphone with the plumber asking if a $2,000 finder's fee sounded reasonable. I kept my mouth shut but it definitely raised some red flags. I listened to all three companies separately and then decided to do some serious research online. While some companies have plenty of glowing Google reviews, once you start looking at other sources like Yelp, the Arizona ROC, and the BBB, the picture can look very different. Consider this a friendly warning to homeowners: do your homework. After digging deeper, I was fortunate to find ASAP Restoration. One thing that immediately stood out is that they do not work referral deals with plumbers, do not pay kickbacks, and do not play games with deductibles. They simply focus on doing the job correctly. The team was extremely professional. The mitigation/demo crew handled the water damage quickly and thoroughly, and the reconstruction team has been excellent. We're now about 90% finished with the rebuild and everything is coming together great. I just felt the need to share my experience before heading out for spring break. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, take a breath, do your research, and call a company that focuses on integrity and quality work. For me, that company was ASAP Restoration.

Be aware of using this company for your insurance repairs. A fix of an upstairs bathroom took 8…read moremonths to be completed. The causes of the extended timeframe was due to multiple factors. In-fighting: estimator and project manager (Darly and Sonia) not working together, blaming each other and telling the customer it's the other persons fault. The customer having to talk to each, then having to escalate to the owners. The owners not managing their employees (Jim Tax and Christina Tax). Estimating things higher then reasonable: for all estimate and change orders the insurance company not approving the first submission and ultimately the estimate being re-done for a lower price. Double charges in the estimate. Charged for take down of a shower glass, and later charging for the same take down of shower glass in a change order to replace. Trying to maximize their profits and thinking the insurance not noticing which in turn is an extended timeframe for the customer. All change order having to be paid upfront before they do any work regardless on the amount. This is not a Servpro policy, it is this Gilbert franchise policy. I had to pay more than half of the overall project cost before they did one pice of new work besides the demo. The sub contractors took for ever. The tile person worked an average of 5-6 hours a day. They also wanted to collect the final payment prior to the work being done. Stay away

The tech were professional and dry-out work was completed. However, my experience with the billing process was very frustrating. I was never given a clear estimate or realistic pricing before the work started. The final invoice ended up being far higher than expected for the scope of work performed. Although a discount was eventually offered, the negotiation process involved repeated pressure regarding collection and leg action, including a 20-day preliminary notice. I ultimately paid the balance to resolve the matter, but I strongly recommend that customers carefully review all documents and request detailed written pricing expectations before authorizing mitigation work. Emergency restoration billing can become very expensive very quickly.

This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. He said they were having mechanical problems and would be there in a half hour to an hour. An hour later, still nobody. I called to cancel and was told there would be a $129 cancellation fee. I tild him no but he kept trying to talk, so I said goodbye and hung up. This is the text he sent: Brandon is in route. You can either stick with the scheduled service for today or the $129 cancellation fee will apply. Please don't hang up on me or yell at me when trying to discuss. Unfortunately, as running a business, sometimes we have to deal with situations that were not expected having to do with vehicles and mechanical breakdowns. Sometimes during those times, time gets away from us as we're trying to scramble to get vehicles and equipment to the right to repair shops. I get there are delays but if you don't let people know, don't be surprised if they cancel.

To be honest though,  i learned so much in this process,  and the first lesson was trust! The trust that there ARE people who have gifts that I don't!!! I needed to trust that the gifts of these people would heal my home! When I decided to lay down my feelings,  open up and let go and let things flow,  every stress and worry went away! It started with releasing those stresses when I spoke to STEVE from the Demo dept of Preferred Choice.  Him and his crew were literally like family!!! Super professional..... you know,  it could be easily uncomfortable with huge men around but NO.... these guys were super fabulous!!!! The coolest thing is you realize as professionals.... they're human too and when you talk to them... they really connect and you realize WHY THEY DO WHAT THEY DO and it all comes together that WHY trusting them is important!!!!! It def relived my stress! I adopted them as my brothers lol!!! There's no way I could do what they do! The demolition crew removed a lot more flooring than anticipated. On top of that, they charged thousands of dollars for PPE. We are talking a water issue on a condo and the amount of PPE does not seem reasonable. State Farm seems to agree, so much so that sent Preferred Choice a check for over $3,000 dollars for the mitigation portion of it but preferred choice wants more. And they want to fight. It's been a nightmare for over 6 months now and I suggest you avoid this company. Note: they also mishandled files and send me pictures and invoices from another customer, very unprofessional.
