From the street, California Fish Grill really draws you in. The place looks great--clean, modern, with glass everywhere giving it a fresh vibe. Unfortunately, that's where the positives stopped for me. I ordered the salmon salad, and while the greens were clean and fresh, the salmon itself had no flavor at all. I also tried the shrimp tacos, and again I found myself wondering where the flavor was. Everything looked good, but the taste just didn't deliver. I really wanted to love this place, but it fell well short of expectations. Honestly, I wouldn't go back unless someone else was picking up the tab. read more

The food I was not impressed with what I ordered my bowl was all rice, had maybe 3 pieces of shrimp, small itty bitty pieces of fish and chicken. I had high hopes for this place. Sorry, I can't say anything good about this place. When they first opened, I gave them a shot. The fish was so overcooked and crunchy. I couldn't even chew it. I gave him a bad rating then and they contacted me and apologized all over the place offered to replace my Mail blah blah blah. I ignored it and didn't go back for many months. I went back about three months ago. The food was.eeeeeh! So I gave him yet another chance just last week I went in and had their southern fried catfish. It was so overcooked it was crispy crunchy on the outside. It was not edible. There was hardly any fish flesh on the inside. it was dry. I tried their. Kale slaw they have instead of coleslaw yucko! I honestly place a door dash order here once a month and usually am super happy. Tonight half my entire order was missing. So I called to speak to the manager on duty and unfortunately she didn't seem to care. Missing 1 taco all my side and my soup. Unfortunately customer service here is not up to the price of the dishes. To not care about the quality of food I'm getting because it's "DoorDash" is an easy way out. Came here for options to have on a Friday during Lent oh my gosh, it was so good. I ended up ordering the salmon that was grilled with garlic butter and white rice. Along with the Caesar salad on the side. The salmon plate also came with brussels sprouts were really delicious. Staff was really kind and I was able to order on the Kiosk stand really quick and easy as as my first time there so I didn't have to stand and debate. All together I was missing my fries, 1 kale-slaw and my sauces for the chips. :/ they offered me to come pick up what they missed or a gift-card for the missing items. Was more than surprised by the excellent quality and flavor of the seafood. It initially gives the impression of any casual dine eatery like chipotle, but they're cranking out A grade restaurant quality entrees! Don't skip the brussel sprouts- best I've ever had. The coconut shrimp was also stand out. After 2 visits, it's clear that they mastered everything on the menu. The artisan sodas are a nice touch, too! And the price point- they're making quality food very affordable and even offer a 15% discount for service members on top of their low prices. They keep a great crowd because the food is truly fantastic. Had a wonderful family meal at this establishment. My kids were undecided and the young man taking our order suggested we use to kiosk for self order because it has pictures (kids love pictures) we quickly ordered and our food came out hot and fresh! I especially appreciated real plates and silverware. For a "fast food" experience it felt like fine dining. They have a good selection of fountain drinks as well as some aguas frescas behind the counter. We would absolutely return again! Thank you CFG for a great experience. read more

California Fish Grill in Visalia is my go-to favorite restaurant when I'm in the city. Although there is a self-order kiosk the employees are very welcoming and aware for any assistance the customers might need. Now the food is so delicious. The food looks and tastes fresh and is very filing. I personally recommend the tilapia and their brussels sprouts from their side's options. I am not a seafood fan especially for fish, but this option is so good it is an exception for me. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Eh, the new service sucks. Since I was paying with a card the manager insisted I use the new "self service" kiosk and order everything myself. She could have helped me and take my order, but instead she just stood at the other register doing nothing. Here is a pro tip...if you're on the clock and getting paid, just take my order. The self service kiosk is stupid. I will refuse to use it in the future and if you still insist I must use it I'll walk out and not return. I guess the lesson here is your job as an employee at CFG is going to be replaced by a robot eventually, automation is real. In the meantime, focus on customer service. read more

It's an order and set and then your called for pickup. What really caught my eye was the drinks dispenser. The drinks were different the usual coke or Pepsi. Some unusual tasting drinks. I tried all of them. The first lace is clean with tables outside along Mooney Dr. I can say that I want to try more on their menu. My friend had a salmon burger and it looked delicious. My Dad loves fish n chips, so I get him some every Sunday for his dinner. I've been going to fish company on Mooney and it was fine for months. Recently they've gone so downhill. The last three weeks they been out of something. One week they were out of fish! That's right, out of fish at the fish grill. And they were not very busy either. Fried pickles: tasted as they should. Cheese curds: batter well but needed and little longer to cook. The cheese had that laffy taffy stretch. Chicken wings: buffalo. The flavor and cook was tasteful but just too small. About the size of a fun size snicker. Overall: the service and food is still great. I recommend this place for sure. FYI, they do have pastries that looked good but I didn't get any.
