We've been to this location twice. Most of the food is your typical A&W fare, no better or worse. However, the strawberry shake is out of this world, complete with chunks of actual strawberries in it. So delish! read more

There was this really bi polar car hop at A&W Breanna mason. She was very nice when I started. Than one random day I said good morning. She probably didn't say a word back to me. She was all giggling with Sara and Michelle. Asking anyone if they wanted apples. I said I'll take some apples. She said why are h being so crappy. Wow ok. I wanted to walk out than. Than Tuesday my back window gets broken out while at work. Breanna comes and tells me "did u know ur back window is broken out and there's glass all over " umm no. But why u back behind my car. Anyways. So I'm freaking out my back window is busted it's coney day. We're busy. I said to the other cook. If it was Haley she would be on the phone gettinf it taken care of. Breanna says they are home what do u want them to do?? I said don't start with me Breanna. And she said oh I will get crappy with u. That's when I said heck with this walked out. As I left she said bye we will do everything like we always do. I'm a good worker. All u do is bag food and walk it out. Thinking y'all deserve 5 dollar tips. When the cooks are busting their butts. Went back wendesday. Me and her worked together. I clocked in at 8:22 cuz I sat in the car crying with my anxiety so high. Cuz I did not wanna be around this girl and be treated like this. Not a word was said all day. So much tension. I had to take kids to dr at 1. Paula says I don't know what to tell u when no one would come in. Ummm. What.?? (Mark did end up coming in tho). I refused to go in Thursday and work with her and be treated like a piece of trash. I was told to come in or find someone to work. I told them at 6 am I was not coming in. Mark is a cool guy. Paula is a selfish lady. Only cares about her self and her family. I love Michelle. All the ppl there were so nice. Except Breanna. And I don't know why she picked on me and singled me out. But I hate u Breanna. Maybe if u stop wearing them legging and having that camel toe stick out. U wouldn't be such a stupid girlYale A&W restaurant Paula will use moldy vegetables and just cut it out. I've seen them drop a chicken wing and throw back in the fryer to clean it off as she said. I keep trying to give them the benefit of my doubt. I was there last week and there is a sign with a QR code that inferred there were two different prices one for cash and one for charge, only saw it on my way out so just not sure what the story is.....also during a trip the prior week, I paid cash and the associate looked at me and said, "do you want your change?" and I said, " as opposed to what?" and she said, "well, a tip, " mind you she had done NOTHING yet and wanted a tip.....I guess I am just old school and think tips should be earned... Lots and lots of '50s and '60s nostalgia, an old style diner with inside seating, as well as outside drive-up service, and a couple picnic tables as well. Very clean and organized, excellent service with a smile. Very cheerful! Two mug sizes for your root beer. Papa burgers on the menu. I ordered some chili-cheese fries and fried mushrooms. When I realized my eyes were bigger than my stomach, I requested a to-go box for the mushrooms (they were just as good reheated the next day). If you are in the Yale area, this is worth stopping for!! read more

Not much that I can say that hasn't already been said on this one. It's a great atmosphere, extremely clean, and if your aThree Stooges fan make sure you check out the hallway to the bathroom as there's a bit of a shrine going on there....yes I'm serious. The fact that in today's day and age there's an actual honest-to-goodness drive up A & W does this well-maintained is amazing. The only downside is the downside of any restaurant of this type if you wish to go in and eat - there just isn't a lot of running to do so. But there's nearly 25 spots for cars and tray service, and in the summer there seemingly is always some classic vehicles hanging there. Friendly staff, great service. read more

The service was terrible today. My boyfriend and I got to A&W at 6:30pm. We hit the button and they didn't answer for 5 minutes and then I hit the button a second time and they said one moment please, and mind you there were only about 3-4 other cars there. It was not as busy as it usually gets. They finally took our order at about 6:45pm. We watched people who got there after us get their orders and out way faster, and our order was so easy! It got to the point where it hit 7:10pm and we still had no food, they didn't even take our card, and there was only 2 other cars there. Very disappointed! We left and went to McDonald's where the food tasted better and we were in and out of the drive thru in 3 minutes barely!! What happened to this place? Yale needs to replace this place with something better... too many bad experiences. read more

The food is always wonderful and service is with a smile. We order to go from here a lot. It's a fun restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. We have 2 elementary school age kids who are very picky with their orders and we never have a problem with the order being wrong here. read more

The Yale A&W is by far the best A& W location I have been to. The food is always well prepared and tasty to boot! You can tell the owners (who are community locals) have strict standards that they ensure the food, and service, meet. This "fast food" restaurant yields food that is better quality than the towns other "sit-down" places, not to mention its cleaner and the service is better. They still offer the drive-in, car-hop experience-even in the winter!!! You can't go wrong here! read more

I've been going to this A&W for years, and the food has always been always very good. The inside is very cool with their 50s theme. The only thing I have a problem with is that in recent years I have not been impressed with the service inside the restaurant. Most times that I go there and decide to go inside I almost am never greeted or waited on for several minutes. I usually can overlook that because the food is always so good. But just the other day I went in the restaurant, stood at the counter for a good three minutes and no one came to ask me what I wanted. I decided to use the restroom and come back and then I stood there for3 or four minutes again. There was one girl standing right in front of me talking to other staff members outside of my view after a minute she glanced at me and turned back away and continued talking to the other people again. I waited another couple minutes and still was not waited on so I left.And no, they were not discussing restaurant business. The owner/manager may want to talk priorities with the crew. Sure I will go back as there are not many choices in the area but it won't take many more bad customer service experiences to change my mind. read more

A great spot to stop for old time sake... and an icy cold rootbeer in a frosty glass mug!! This time I tried a 10 piece corn dog combo and fries; tiny little hot dogs encased in a crunchy cornbread batter. They were tasty little nuggets, but the rootbeer in that heavy glass mug is always the main reason for stopping. read more
