Ordered food at 4:40pm to get the "early bird" specials. Food came a bit later, I received the wrong order. When I pointed it out, server said "yeah, I keyed in the wrong order" and stared at me blankly with no offer to correct (strike one). When time came to pay, they charged us full price for meals, not early bird specials , if I did not look at receipt, I would have missed this (strike 2). When I asked the sever to correct, she had a manager fix it but took no accountability. Also, she did not notice until later that I was charged full price for drinks, not happy hour pricing (strike 3). No accountability and no offer to help correct. We've been here twice and were very impressed. Last night the hostess asked how we were doing as she walked us to the table...that was a nice touch. Our server Michael was awesome! Home made dressing, rolls and not your basic salad, they add eggs which we love. Our steaks and prime rib always cooked perfectly. Plus they have less expensive options if you come before 5:30. Our waitress was wonderful. However we were seated next the kitchen, it was so cold it was very hard to sit there. I ordered then had to leave my table of friends because the music was so loud it was disturbing to me and no one could even talk at the the table. food was just ok, they cooked my steak not as I had asked, but to a leather and non consumable. This experience was horrible for me and my friends. When you can't talk because it is too loud and your food was not that good makes it bad dinning experience for all. I'm really torn between 3 and 4 stars here. I mean, for one, this place is always reliable, but definitely NOT at the top of my list of places I like to dine at. But, we were in the Port Huron area, and only so many places were open. Plus, it was friday night and to be honest, neither of us felt like veering off the main road. So, here we went. We joined the waitlist via app since John X loves this place. We sat in the car for a while, and eventually wandered in and found out that we were next be seated. There were lots of staff up front and they were all very helpful. Our server was fabulous and we took our time ordering from the menu. I really wasn't sure what to get, so I went with the 6 ounce steak with mashed potatoes and a Cesar salad. John went with the 12 ounce steak, a house salad and a baked potato. Overall this place is actually pretty good food and efficient staff. I feel like theirs other steakhouses that offer just as good food but are not so chain feeling. We are frequent guests at Texas Roadhouse. We always get the same thing, steak. Most of the time when I come here it is good, but it seems lately my steak is always cooked wrong. Today I decided to send it back. Usually I just eat it however they cooked it because we don't like to wait longer and usually have other plans for the night. Well tonight I sent it back. I ordered medium well. It was very well done and when I got it back the second time..... half of it was medium and half of it was well done. I don't get it.. but I wasn't going to send it back again. My whole family was done eating before I even started, which sucked. The staff was very kind, but I am disappointed that it turned out bad the second time around and I wasn't given any compensation. This restaurant has a good fried onion appetizer, tasty rolls and good steaks. It's a special occasion restaurant for me as I am not a huge steak eater, but when I go, I am happy. And I am aware that there are other options to choose from. The wait staff are always friendly when I am in there, from greeters to servers. And I like the look of the place. Every once in a while, they will show up to our office with fresh rolls and butter and coupons, which I like. Both of our steaks were seared but rare. I ordered mine medium well and she ordered hers medium. The reasons to visit the Texas Roadhouse are few in this diners opinion. The positives: 1. The management and organization of the wait staff, food servers, managers, bussers and hostess station is on point. There is clearly excellent management and a system in place for the front of the house. 2. The ridiculous appetizer onion. 3. The yeast rolls. 4. The peanuts. Really not impressed with the quality of the food. As a chain steakhouse the quality of the meat (steak) is poor, it is tenderized and seasoned low grade meat. My dog really loved it! There are many local restaurants with similar priced food that has been prepared with care. Maybe I'm just not in the mood to spend my money on chain restaurants. I would rather cook at home, buy local meat and have less chaos in the dining experience. If this is your only choice the service was great! My boyfriend and I wanted to go someplace that wasn't a local dive bar for once, so we decided to give this Texas Roadhouse a try. Usually I find them to be just meh, but our experience at this location was actually very nice and we had a wonderful time. For a bustling Saturday night (a LOT of families and babies let me tell you) we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, and once we were seated the servers were very kind and accommodating. The drinks weren't watered down (honestly the Peach Fuzz drink went down smooth and I could have polished off like 12 of those things) and for once the rolls were nice and piping hot, right out of the oven. I'm going to preface this update to my earlier review to say this is specifically in relation to the service - not the quality of the food. As a customer of this particular location for over five years - since it opened basically - I've been here probably on average at least twice a month or better. Up until now, I have had no issue with the service. Now, it wasn't always stellar, but for the most part I've been pleased enough. That changed on Father's Day 2020. To say I'm thoroughly disappointed is an understatement. As we arrived, my family and I, numbering five total, went to the outdoor check-in. The hostess greater us with a "did you use our call ahead seating?" We said no, and I asked, very specifically if that was an issue. She said no, but could we please have a seat in the designated waiting area. Now, I'm well aware of the new restrictions of Covid....and the drop to 50% capacity necessitated by it. That said, it was not made clear that having a party of five was in anyway a problem....but as time went on, it clearly was. Why? In short, we watched as at least four straight parties of four were seated before us - not one was asked if they had called ahead first. Another party of six, which had called ahead, was ahead of us....they were seated in fairly short order. After nearly a half hour, I asked the hostess again if our sizes was an issue - I was given a look as if I was an idiot. She then preceded to directly sit a 5th four top - at which point we decided to call Red Lobster next door, who said they could seat us within ten minutes. You can guess the ending. We left, and when I explained to the hostess why, she looked at me as if I'd lost my mind. It's been a LONG time since I have received such bad treatment, and while I love Texas Roadhouse's steak and shrimp, I won't be back to this location again. read more

Then she wouldn't even hand me the receipt like she was scared to touch my hand as I had my hand out to reach for it. My sister dresses more feminine when I don't care what I wear as long as I'm comfortable, my BOYFRIENDS flannel and my blue jeans. I fully believe they thought we were dating and that sickens me to death on how we were treated and judged. To add we played a sick joke into their low level petty bs and left a zero tip for it. When you walk in, you see barrels of ready to eat peanuts, a counter of the delectable rolls with their famed cinnamon butter with bakers making them behind the counter, and unfortunately, if you arrive after 6 on most days, a long line. Coming in at 5:30, we were able to avoid any long line and was seated immediately upon arrival. Once at our table, I quickly went for the rolls. One of the stars of the show, the warm, buttery rolls are heaven in the cool and rich cinnamon butter. Next, to order. I ordered the country fried chicken with a side Caesar salad and mashed potatoes, a usual for me. The salad tastes fresh on the cool plate, and the cheese and tomatoes made it delicious. Finally, the main meal. The country fried chicken was tender and crispy, made perfect with the creamy white gravy. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy, also topped off with the gravy. Texas Roadhouse is a decent restaurant. I remember when they first opened this location they advertised "$9 6oz sirloin" (or similar price) and that has always drawn my parents to come here. The atmosphere I dislike, however. The cowboy theme seems too rustic and overly Western. The food is OK but good value. They serve complimentary bread with whipped cinnamon butter which is meant to fill you up before you get your meal. The steak is usually cheap, around the same price as the grocery store. It comes with 2 sides as well, I always order the baked potato which is delicious. However, I have a strong distaste for steak and beef in general now and I have always found their steak to be heaping with salt. Appetisers such as the large fried onion are crunchy and delicious but will easily bloat you. It's an OK restaurant but I just don't like it myself read more

There's nothing wrong with the service, the food is never bad, but just like most franchises nothing ever makes me want to come back. There's two types of steak houses. Ones that draw in the country folk with "large helpins'", loud environments, and a southern drawl (looking at you Cracker Barrel). Then there's ones with chefs that really know what the different cuts of meat are, how to cook them professionally, and where to acquire the best. People that don't mind gimmicky loud environments tend to enjoy this place. I'm not one of those people.
