They've saved me hundreds of dollars in unnecessary repairs - repaired oil leaks, electrical problem correctly diagnosed to be a shorted out starter, brake jobs, and routine oil changes. Our radio dashboard stopped working. Called in and explained the situation about aftermarket radio installation and a potentially blown fuse and was recommended by them to set an appointment, so I set up an appt for a day at 8:30 am. When we arrived, he said he didn't recall the appt. I said I spoke to you specifically about it, and you put me down for the appt, and I wrote down the time and info. right away ( I don't want to write his name on here). He still doesn't remember the discussion... Anyway, so we kept the car with them to fix. Took a few hours til noon. Got a called back saying they couldn't figure out anything wrong with it so they couldn't help us. Then he had to take another call and said he needed to take the call and put me on hold for a few minutes. I said fine. Well, after being put on hold for 25mins, I got fed up with the wait (why call me to put me on hold in less than a minute?) He should have just said "I'll call you back, I gotta take this call" instead of telling me he'll put me on hold and come back. Anyway, I hung up. After 45mins total (20mins later after I hung up), he called me back just to tell me they couldn't figure it out and said they'd refer us elsewhere for aftermarket radio installation, etc. I said I had the manufacturer radio currently back in, so they just need to find out why it's not working, a blown fuse, etc. but they said they're likely thinking it's more of a software reset inside the vehicle instead, and they don't have the tools for that. Alright, fine. Paid about $500 and left to the radio shop they recommended, which said they couldn't do it and did not have the tools either. We didn't want to leave without a solution or to go to a dealership, so they finally recommended another audio shop. In 2.5 hours, Audio916 found the blown fuse and installed the new aftermarket radio for us and made sure all the programming was good for around $350. I gave A Auto Care 3 Stars due to the lack of professionalism, missing the fuse, and the cost of the diagnostic when I received absolute 5 stars customer service with transparency, honesty, diagnostic testing, installation, and cost total for less from Audio916. read more

Very recently I took my car in for a tune up with my regular mechanic whom shall remain nameless. The estimate for my 2017 Infinity QX70 was $1700 for a brake job including rotors plus the cost of an oil change so another $192 which had already been done. I almost had a heart attack. I I told the owner don't do anything else. I was going to pick up the car and get other estimates. Immediately I called A Auto and Dan answered. Even he was shocked by the estimate. He told me to bring the car to them and the owner Mark would check out the car completely! I am so INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL to Dan and Mark! The cost? Five hundred dollars TOTAL!!! If I had brought the car to them the oil change would have been $85! In a day and age when everything is so expensive cost matters! The first mechanic? So I looked up some places and we decided to go here. I had him take his car up there and work with the mechanics all by himself and let me tell you, it went so well! Took my car there to do a transmission swap only. These guys not only took my engine out not needed, they broke my turbo completely, didnt give permission to touch it at all, broken inter wheel splash guards both sides, missing bolts, wrong intercooler hoses put on when I just had installed new ones,headlight harness not plugged in, wrong coolant in car, wrong bolts on cat, vacuum hoses connected wrong. Please avoid this place if you love your car, because this should never happen to anyone! read more

I rarely write reviews of repair shops since there are many that either don't know what they are doing or just out to make a quick buck off someone. I want to thank Marc and Josh of A Auto Care who took hands on from the beginning to the end. Marc and his team of mechanics is honest and to the point of what is needed to correct the issues on our vehicle. We own a 2013 Mercedes GL550 with 87,000 miles on it. This SUV is the family vehicle and I baby the heck out of this SUV so my loved ones are safe when they are riding it. I purchased a brand new water pump assembly kit and the lower radiator hose and brought it to their shop to have them install it. In the process, Marc pointed out the other worn out plastic tubes that needs to be replaced so I don't encounter more issues that's attached to this brand new water pump and it's done right the first time. I was on a tight budget since the holiday's wiped me out and Marc tried to keep the other parts and additional labor as low as possible to help me out which he did. We love this SUV so it's worth every penny spent as long as I know my family is safe ridding in it. The fan in my old Lexus went out completely and the part couldn't be found anywhere! I was literally in a position where I would have had to scrap my car because it was undrivable. They patiently kept looking in pick n pulls, online, etc. Finally, Mark found a fan from an older Toyota and McGuyvered it to fit my car; It works perfectly! They could have charged me an outrageous amount like other places are doing because parts are so hard to get right now, but they were completely fair and honest. I finally had enough of dealership prices for our family car, leading to a search for a ma and pop kind of shop. Turned to Groupon for a deal on brakes to "test the waters" and found A Auto Care. Thought they were trustworthy as they have been about as long as I've been alive and also seem to have other positive reviews on yelp, so they must be doing something well. I bought the deal and scheduled an appointment for brakes and some steering work. Actual experience went great. Marc kept in contact about the status of repairs and my options throughout the day. Cost was reasonable and well below what the dealership had quoted. Very happy with my experience and knowing Marc and his crew provide full service auto repair (and custom work), I will be keeping them in mind for inevitable future repairs and maintenance. read more

Horrible Experience, I called asking how much they charge for a AC Refill and was quoted $120. I head over and drop off the car, 20 minutes later I came back and was told the AC pump wasn't turning on and they had filled the condenser with 3 ounces of Freon but the AC pump wasn't kicking on. They visually inspected my pump and pulled a few fuses. Mark then asked me what I wanted to do next and recommended a diagnostic at $120 an hour. I told mark I'd diagnose it myself or just replace the ac compressor. When I went to check out they charged me $150 for their 20 minute uneducated "diagnostic" and 3 ounces of freon they wouldn't recover and told me to let it out which is definitely illegal but hey these guys make it seem like they know more than you. Also this place reeks and looks like a tornado touched down in their office. No idea how they keep track of parts around that place. Beware of this place and keep your guard up if you unfortunately have to deal with them. read more

The fee was higher than I thought, but after talking with others, it seems like a fair price. I feel that it's important to pay for quality work and not end up with more problems down the road. I had a bad power unit that prevented me from raising my driver's side window. The Chrysler dealership wanted me to bring the car in to diagnose the problem so they could order the part. Then, I would have to go in again to have it fixed. From the calls I made I determined that the problem was the motor for the window. I then called the Folsom dealership's parts department and they informed me that they did not have the part. I didn't want to go 2 separate days without my car. I found that the dealership in Elk Grove had one so I bought it. I took the car in on a Friday to A Auto Care afternoon at about 1:00. An hour later it was fixed!
