We took our car to ACT to help us investigate a non-urgent but ongoing issue that we had been experiencing. It did end up taking three visits in total to get everything done - they had been busy and ran out of time to fully reproduce/diagnose the problem on the first day. We did need to use the car in the meantime so we had to bring it back again. The second time, they were able to look more into it and order a part that they suspected was part of the issue, then give us a quote for that and another service we also decided to get done. At the final visit, we brought the car in and they were efficient and took care of replacing the part and everything else within the day. We had Ricky as our main contact and he was always professional and transparent at each encounter regarding timelines and fees. Prices were reasonable and we didn't feel pressured at any time to do business with them. Despite having to set up several appointments, they were always flexible and able to accommodate our schedules, even letting us store the car there overnight when we couldn't make it to pick up before they closed. Stopped into ACT for a pre-purchase inspection on a 2017 Ford Fusion and I had such a good experience! Making an appointment was quick & easy, & they had the service finished in under an hour so they charged me way less than what they quoted! Their inspection was thorough and detailed, and every person I talked to was kind and informative. I wish I lived closer so I could make ACT my go-to, but unfortunately I was only in town to buy the car. You're lucky if you live in town! read more

First, Thalia was wonderful on the phone. I needed a last-minute appointment to do a pre-sale on a car for my son. She took the time to see whether or not one of the mechanics would be able to take us. She was kind, courteous and provided excellent service! she was able to get one of the mechanics, Carlos, to stay for my appointment. All I can say is he turned out to be a true blessing! He checked out the car and did a thorough overview of it, found a couple small items wrong with the car, and was able to provide an estimate so that we could negotiate the price of the car a bit! I took my car here after my a/c compressor went out. I had it diagnosed at a large commercial shop who wanted a couple thousand to fix it. I called around and spoke to Carlos at ACT Auto Center. He was super nice and professional. He was able to get my car in for the a/c service the same day, even when it was blazing hot out. He charged less than half of what the other shop quoted, parts and labor warranties for a year, they got it done the same day, and didn't try to upsell or tell me MORE work needed to be done. I brought my Mercedes c300 for check engine light diagnostic service to A.C.T Auto Center. Carlos, told me for $120 will find out what is the problem They just plug in the diagnostic tool without even hold a screw driver in their hand and told me what the diagnostic tool code pop up. Usually, I can take it to any auto zone store and do it for free. they promise me the accuracy of their test but they lie. they just want free and eazy money I don't know how they still in business they are cheater and bad service shop. read more

This is one of those shops you dream about having as a go-to spot. Carlos and his staff are awesome to work with, transparent, and most importantly, honest. I brought a vehicle I was getting inspected before purchase to Carlos' shop. Mind you- I'm not from the area and had never heard of this place before Yelping. Okay so... pep boys sucks. Quoted me $500 to replace my front 2 brake pads and rotors. Well I got my front 2 brake pads and rotors replaced plus my break fluid flushed. For all less then what pep boys was gonna do just replacing my break pads and rotors. I came in and they're were able to take my car within the hour and got it fixed for me the same day. I've never dealt with mechanics that actually care about the customer and not just the money. I will be returning for all future work for both of my vehicles. Pep boys let me leave with 1/32nd of my break pads left which is very dangerous. I will be returning to ACT Auto Center for all my future needs. read more

10/22 I had a leaking radiator and needed to get a new one put in. I had the parts, just needed the labor to install it. Carlos had it back to me by the end of the day. Unfortunately, a lower hose clamp failed and I lost all my coolant. As soon as I told him what has happened he told me to bring it back and he would fit me in. 20 minutes later I was back on the road. Carlos apologized for the inconvenience of what happened. No attempt to charge me more. How often does anyone apologize for anything these days? No trying to upsell me or somehow dodge the issue. Just honest service. I phoned and spoke with Carlos regarding a possible leak from the engine compartment. A time was set to drop by and have the car looked at. An aside ... Carlos was upbeat and presented a good attitude. Since this is to be my first time at ACT Auto Center, this was a good start! When I dropped by with the car, Carlos and crew were able to diagnose the problem within the half hour. It turns out that the radiator had sprung a leak and needed to be replaced. It was around 2 p.m. The car was kept overnight. Between 10 and 11 a.m. that next day, I received a call that the car was ready for pick-up. I picked up the car. The radiator was indeed new! The 'mess' from the previous leak had been washed up. Very happy with the service! While a quick turn-around isn't guaranteed, in this case it happened and I am very happy about it! I believe I have just found my new mechanic. [The previous mechanic was Superior Automotive ... Randy ... at the same location. Randy retired and there was no one to take over, for quite a while.] read more

On Friday August 20th I brought my car in because it would go back and forth between starting and doing nothing when I turned the key. I asked to have it diagnosed and corrected and while I was there I threw in an oil change, brakes, and a new cabin air filter. On Monday August 23rd I was able to pick my car up. The brakes, oil change, and cabin filter were done but they never attempted to diagnose the problem with my car starting. On Tuesday August 24th at about 3pm I had to have my car towed back there because it once again would not start. Immanuel told me that the car would be there overnight and they would get to it in the morning when they open at 8am. I was fine with that seeing that they were only open for 2 more hours. Fast forward to today, Wednesday August 25th, and I hear NOTHING from them until I CALL THEM AT 3pm. Immanuel tells me he will call back in an hour and give me an update. Well I did not receive a call so once again I CALL THEM just before they close. He told me it has to do with the key and they are contacting locksmiths. (This is after my car has been there for all 9 hours they were open today.) When I asked why it was not diagnosed before he told me verbatim, "Well, THIS TIME we checked the alternator and starter and that wasn't it." Excuse me? THIS TIME? So last Friday when I came in the simply must have just turned the key instead of looking under the hood to diagnose the problem which is the whole reason I was there. When I told Immanuel that this is unacceptable he sarcastically said....well you can pick up, we don't have to fix it. So now tomorrow is day 6, I still have no use of my car, and I am losing money every day I can't use it. This experience was horrible. I would never recommend this company or these people to anyone. Buyer beware!!!! If you value your time and appreciate honest dealing this is not the place to go. I will be following up with the California State Attorney General as well as any Automotive regulatory agencies to file a formal complaint against this horrible company. read more

Carlos is the man. If you want a truthful mechanic at a fair price this is your go to spot.He was very thorough and helpful with all the question I had and was very patient to answer all of them.I had a p1421 code and an intermittent check engine light that was giving me trouble and instead of replacing the catalytic converter at $600(which is a great price for the job),he instead cleaned out the throttle body and cleared my PCM of any codes out of good gesture for $25!. After 100 miles of driving and no codes returning I passed my smog test!Thanks Carlos you got yourself a lifetime customer. read more

I stopped in to get an idea of what was wrong with car. I am disabled and they were so accommodating. Carlos and team did diagnostic, got all the repairs i needed done and went above and beyond for me. I will now make them my only auto repair. Easy entrance too which is big plus. read more

I stopped in at ACT Auto Center for an air bag sensor light problem as they're a new shop in Rancho Cordova. The owner (Carlos) was extremely pleasant and helpful from the moment I arrived. He checked/reset my sensor at no charge; unfortunately, I had to go back as it came on again and he determined I needed a new sensor. He said I could save $75 if I picked the part up myself at auto zone (who does that right). Another problem was detected while checking my air bag sensor so he replaced my sensor free of charge with my other repair.
