Now, I have lived in Florida for over 10-years and I have run into some really bad customer…read moreservice...but this place takes the cake. I usually take bad reviews with a grain of salt...because everyone can have a bad day; however, this business seems to have one consistent complaint. Now the bow maintenance I needed was a very simple task of replacing my D-Loop. I came in already knowing the cost and was happily going to pay it. The guy acted...well to be blunt...nuts! I spent a total of $24 and change that day...and it will be the last dime they will ever see from me!! I'll be damed if I will spend any money in a shop where they treat people the way they treated me. I can't really even explain the hostility this guy displayed...it was so odd. He acted like I had not only interrupted his day...but that this menial task had somehow put him out. Now granted, it was only $12 or so to have him tie a new D-Loop...but WTF. I don't have time for any business that treats customers in this fashion. I'm assuming that Jerry's Indoor Archery is on it's last leg...and I'm not surprised as to the reason(s) why. If you plan on spending any substantial amount of money on archery equipment...I suggest you go somewhere they will appreciate your business. I'm just one little customer who apparently doesn't matter to them...and that's okay because they won't be seeing anymore of my money! As for me...my visit to your shop cost me $24 and change; however, it cost you a new customer, potential sales of new bows, arrows, targets, archery services for me and my wife. Lets not forget...potential sales to my friends, neighbors and family. As far as the D-Loop...well, it seems to work just fine. But then again...I could have had that done pretty much anywhere archery products are sold. The other item I bought was an ammo can...which I could have bought elsewhere. So when you see Jerry's...just keep on driving.

(I highly recommend taking lessons from Buster if you want to get to the next level and win.) This is my go-to shop for 'anything archery' including bow set up, tuning and technical questions. Going forward, I won't let any other shop touch my bows.

This place is great! I have always wanted to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow, so when friends…read moreinvited me to go with them to the Introductory Class, I happily went to the TAS webpage and signed up for it. The Intro Classes are offered every Saturday, and you must take one before you are allowed to take even the beginning archery classes here. The area the school is located in is a little bit sketchy, but don't let that deter you. In the Intro Class, the owner Bryce does a brief overview of different bows, and rules, and gear, and then you actually get to shoot. After taking the intro, you have the option of signing up for beginner classes (or you can test 'up' if you are experienced already). They offer classes 4 times a week, and it's either $25/class or $80 for the whole month with unlimited classes. That is definitely the way to go, because you will need to/ want to practice, practice, practice! The building this is in also doubles as a martial arts dojo, so no shoes are allowed on the mat. It gets very, very warm inside, with only fans to keep it cool, so dress accordingly. You shoot at targets about 10 ft away. TAS provides all the gear you need: bow, arrows, arm guard, finger tab, and targets. They even have bows for lefties like me! During class, the two instructors walk up and down the line behind the shooters giving tips and comments to improve one's form and shooting skills. They also have an arrangement with The Archery Shop on N. Florida Ave., so some of the classes are held there. It's fun to switch things up and shoot at this location, because this range is about 20 ft long. I have enjoyed myself immensely taking these classes, and highly recommend this school if you have an interest in archery.

Store is organized by outdoor activities--fishing, hunting, camping, etc I especially love the foods section that includes chili kits, rubs, jerky and sauces. A downside is often the absence of shelf pricing. I've left many things behind due to this. Lots of wonderful clothing, especially for cold weather--thermals, fleeces, fllannels. Has outdoor appliances like dehydrators, grills, tools. Even has a toys section. Saw some great sales today $15 fleece jackets, 25% off lots of clothing, etc. Certainly worth a gander for everyone.

This is a review for their archery department…read more I decided recently that I wanted to get back into archery (which for me means traditional target shooting with a recurve bow). After receiving terrible service at a local shop in Gainesville, my boyfriend (who was buying this for me as a birthday present) and I came here. Upon walking into that section they really only have compound bows for bowhunting on display and some very expensive all wood recurves hanging behind the counter. There were plenty of people behind the counter though, and one man asked if we needed any help. We told him what we were looking for and that I was a novice archer who had last shot about 6 years ago. He promptly pulled a box out from underneath the counter, told us the price and asked if it was in our range. We said yes and he began putting it together for us. After he had put it together and showed me how it was done, he had me draw it. I said it was fine and more than I shot in High School, which is what I'm looking for since my archery teacher was always pushing me to try a stronger resistance. He then showed me a product called a "whisker biscuit" (I know, sounds lewd right?), which is basically a special attachment to help with nocking the arrow. It holds the arrow in place, meaning it won't fall out mid-release...which I agree is a good idea to have for a novice...especially since this has happened to me! So he attached that on for us. I asked him about a sight and he led us over to where they sell them and selected one to recommend at my re quest of a reasonably priced one. He picked one out and I looked at it, and really liked it! Fiber optic sight with several different pins to mark different distances so there is no need for adjustment once you set them. After attaching everything we had picked out he asked if we need it taken back apart and we did so he obliged. He let us know there was a sale on some arrows and we picked them up as well; he cut them to the proper size and then we were ready to check out! I know it kind of sounds like he was trying to upsell me on a lot of things, but he did listen to our concerns about price and we knew exactly what we were buying. When recommending a product he told us exactly what it was and why it was a good idea, but never said it was a necessity. At any time we could have requested something cheaper or different and I'm sure he would have obliged us with no problem. Great experience, excellent service. Will definitely come back if I need anything. I'm just sad they're in Orlando and not Gainesville :(
