I also drained my 100-gallon tank to flush out any debris and bypassed my water-softening system to see if that was the culprit. Almeda initially guided me through these steps to help save me some money. Ultimately, they sent two technicians over the same day to diagnose the issue, checking the tank, breakers, and pipes back to the well. They discovered a leak about three feet down, which could not be repaired immediately, so they scheduled a follow-up for the next day. I specifically asked about any extra charges since one of my neighbor bad experience from them in the past. She said No extra charges, just parts and labor. I got invoice for $225 an hour, $425 for control box instead of $350 (same exact item number) plus extra $98 misc and additonal $30 fuel charge. Total $940. (For a less then $500 job.) She told me there are no refunds on deposits, which I clearly told her that's not stated in the contract I signed and she replied with, "It doesn't say it's refundable either". If you reply with that, you understand blatantly that you are engaging in deceptive practices and it will get handled as such. It's terrible that contractors are so desperate, they compromise their entire company, ethics and the only thing they have going for them- their word. Or in my case, an insufficient contract that was poorly structured. I suggest anyone wanting a well to RUN from these scam artists!
