I stumbled upon this Banh Mi shop and it was the best decision I made walking in here. It was a no frills shop that served damn good Banh Mi's. There was no skimping out on the meat, the bread was soft on the inside and just the right amount of crunch and chew on the outside. This place was bomb! Thanks to my fellow elites for this spot. I went searching for a bahn mi sandwich and this spot was one of the top rated. I see why! The sandwich was huge!!! Filled with fillings and made fresh to order. This is a no frills kinda spot. Very unassuming and unappealing from the outside. The inside is also very unappealing but the smell was so welcoming. The customer service was very good. I were greeted upon arrival and again when i left. I didn't eat the sandwich right away, but it was still so good!! I think this might be the best place for a banh mi in all of Atlantic county! I've tried Pho 9, 7 Sisters, Hu Tieu Mien Tay, & A.C. Sandwiches take the top spot by far! This place is a hole in the wall type of establishment on Atlantic Ave in Atlantic City. There's only street parking & they only accept cash. Inside you'll see 2 tables with 8 total chairs, so it's more of a takeout joint. The cashier was friendly & the sandwiches took about 10 minutes to make since there were others who had ordered before me. I had the AC Special Combo for $8 plus tax, and it was everything I'd been wanting and craving! There was a very generous amount of meat including roasted pork, head cheese, & ham with pate. The jalapeño was spicy & the pickled daikon & carrots were the perfect additions to a filling sandwich. Is it the very best banh mi I've ever had? Not quite since this was made with a Formica bread that's usually served with cheesesteaks & not the traditional French style baguette but it was still very tasty! My husband and I were in AC for a show and we didn't want to eat at the casinos and were actually craving Vietnamese food. Yelp search got us here. Parking is off street and the neighborhood is shady, then again, it is AC so this is the norm. Customer service is great. Sandwiches ordered were decent. We had the banh mi dac biet/the special. It had good amount of cold cuts. Their toasted bread is decent but I've had better bread/baguette. Given we were in AC with very limited Vietnamese food, if any exists, these banh mi will do. read more

We have a plethora of Vietnamese banh mi spots where we live so while the sandwich was good it wasn't the best I've had. It's a unique offering in AC nonetheless and the owner was friendly but she was one person working the shop and I was a bit wary of cleanliness when she came out with a bowl of roasted pork for my sandwich. She definitely could use some help as I noticed a pile of dishes waiting to be cleaned. But she wore gloves while handling the sandwiches and took them off while handling money. My favorite go to place for Bahn mi's, so flavorful and authentic. The bun is light, fluffy with the perfect crunch on the outer layer. The meat is seasoned and they pack the meat which I love. I always get the special, buy 5 get 1 free cuz my family loves them. It's a hole in the wall place, if you blink, you'll drive by it, but trust me, you can't go wrong with any of their subs. It's a mom and daughter shop and they prepare the sandwiches in front of you, and they also have bubble teas and smoothies. This my favorite sandwich spot in the area. I think it's every bit as any I've had in NYC. My only problem is that I have too many favorites and have to get all of them. She even makes special dishes in the morning and sells what she's made for the day so if you don't go early, you miss out. You can also request a day ahead and she will cook it for you. Go for the $5 Bon Mei sammies, really nice toasty bread, I asked for, and received extra veggies and cilantro and they didn't charge me extra..nice! Now for sure these aren't as good as you get at Pho Da Nang in Parlin, NJ, because they grill your meat fresh to order (oh I may need to run there tomorrow, now I'm craving one), sadly, this place reheats meat in the microwave...I will be honest, I waited until the next day to review because I was a little worried I might get sick from the meat..thankfully we didn't!! They don't appear to have a grill in the store, just a toaster oven and microwave. We ordered the grilled pork and S got a Vietnamese meatball sub too...can you say scary? The meatballs were reddish in color and spicy..mystery meat, but he liked it. Delicious little Vietnamese sandwich shop on Atlantic ave. My coworkers and I did take out for lunch. We bought 3 subs and 2 bubble tea all for less than $20. I ordered a #3 (Vietnamese lunch meat - white ham and pate) and it was awesome. The bread was warm, crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside with the pate and mayo to offset the dry ingredients. The pickled carrots and daikon had the right amount of vinegar for me to compliment the lunch meat and cut through the savory pate and mayo. The shop was really clean. The floors were spotless. The walls look like they were painted fresh yesterday. Nothing was dusty. I guess the grandmother behind the counter made sure the place looked as immaculate as can be. Surprisingly the service was very welcoming. I don't expect good friendly service when I go to Vietnamese restaurants in atlantic county. So this goes up on the list with Pho Life in Mays Landing for friendliest services out of the Vietnamese restaurants in the area. My other coworkers got Vietnamese meatballs sub and the grilled chicken sub. If u want Sirracha on the side, you'll have to ask for it. It doesn't come with the sandwiches. Although the business is name "A.C. Sandwiches" they only have Vietnamese Subs. The area inside seems clean, a little bit unorganized but clean enough. They only accept CASH. I don't recommend any "hot" items. They are all microwaved. So not fresh nor made daily. Their cold cuts is the best way to go. They have fresh smoothies with boba as an add-on. Great local shop! I will usually stop here once before I go to my night shifts. They have great sandwiches and they make it right in front of you. The bread is nice and soft and crunchy where it needs to be. The sauce she puts and meats are very yummy as well. It is a little spicy because she does put Jalepenos in there.
