B: they couldn't even bother to write the property address correctly on the warranty paperwork. When I pointed that out (in much more politically correct wording) they ignored me. I asked for Joe to come out to check on the puff of warm air. He was too incompetent to clue in what the actual problem was. I finally had MY normal AC guy come out (a REAL AC guy who actually knows what he is talking about) and he pointed out the "greenhorn" mistake made by Joe's little helper. Unbelievable.

The crew arrived first thing the next morning and the job was completed by 3pm. The City of Clearwater code inspector approved their work the next week. Overall, I had a great experience with the entire staff from the receptionist, crew and owner. Everyone was patient and polite. I can definitely recommend Comfort Air. As a heads-up, there's an additional 3% charge for credit/debit cards. I wrote a check.

By Tuesday evening, 24 hours later, same thing AC blowing hot air. They came back Wednesday. Now the diagnostic says it is the sensor or sensors. They recommend I replace the unit. Interesting because on Monday night they recommended I pay $189.00 more to have yearly maintenance. You would think they would not offer yearly maintenance on a unit that a day later they think should be replaced. I would stay away and try someone else unless you think the above is the way it should be.

After having a very poor experience with another high profile Tampa AC company (ask if you want to…read moreknow who), I was happy to find REM. My first experience was 3 years ago when their tech Chris got our old, failing 14 year old, contractor-grade unit working temporarily in a very hot Florida August until we could get a complete replacement from them a week later. (which I feel was reasonably priced). The replacement unit and process went well and we've been very happy with the new AC. Our power bill went WAY down with the more efficient unit (it took about a year to fully realize the savings since we are on Tampa Electric's levelized billing plan). Fast-forward 3 years - our unit started "short cycling" (turning on and off quickly). We found this was probably due to the very hard water deposits and sludge in the lines that happen in our area. REM was able to get someone here quickly and it turned out to be Chris! (our original technician) It says a lot that REM keeps employees for extended periods of time. Chris quickly cleared our lines, performed additional maintenance and gave great advice. A word of advice - when you get a new AC unit and they offer the preventative maintenance package, TAKE IT.. We didnt and this repair was the result. We've now signed up for the twice annual maintenance and will avoid a repair in the future. I don't do tons of reviews - this is genuine - I'm a happy customer for REM but not compensated at all for posting my opinion.... CA from Riverview, FL

The first service call was…read moreperformed a week or two ago, but I was consulted about replacing a part that still worked, which I chose not to, although the units parts were still under warranty. He could have replaced them for the service charge but didn't and what do I know about air conditioner parts? Then, shortly, this is in June, the early days of summer. another AC failure on a Saturday night. Calling in a service request was met with a full mail box. I called first thing Monday morning and wasn't able to talk to somebody for 30 minutes for the service call which didn't arrive until late in the afternoon, where it was pronounced the part another part had failed, and that he would get the previously injured part to replace that too. The part he did replace cost $192, for a unit guaranteed for 10 years (still under warranty). By the way, you don't get to see the invoice until you pay it. He returned Tuesday and replaced the previously injured part, charged $160 for the service call, the system blew cold over night and failed the next morning. He came back the next day and replaced the dryer, and charged me $569.00 (not itemized although a dryer was replaced) for almost a couple of hours work, tops. Well comes the following Saturday night, and it failed again. The same tech did all this. He is rude, his pants hang down below his ass, he was speaking to some woman on cell in speaker mode almost the whole time he was working, and to justify the price he said to the effect that I live in a nice house and he lives in a shack; is that like white privilege or something. I don't know. I guess that Bart has retired and is no longer involved with the company or the market allows for bad service and he just does not care. I requested a working AC on the system I purchase 7 years ago whose compressor was already replaced once and I pay a semi annual fee to be maintained. The quality was trash, and there was no value in being inconvenienced, and the astonishing claim from that technician that he as performed a valuable service for the value of the money I paid. I pay for protection, but the providers are incompetent.

We were with several other AC companies...ALL OF WHOM over-sold us on products we didn't need…read more(because they worked on commissions!)...and their products were not even installed properly. This company does NOT have their employees working on a commission basis...and they are extremely honest as well as very knowledgeable. You can even select fro the same person to service you as needed. Do not look anywhere else.
