Ambiance was chill and booths were comfy. We had the whole branzino which was tender, juicy, and beautifully cooked. The waiter recommended the St. Joseph whole fish and it did not disappoint. Plump, umami-rich, and full of flavor. The mixed platter was a hit, though I skipped the lamb chops. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and paired perfectly with the mashed potatoes. The Mediterranean salad was fresh and light, a nice balance to the heartier dishes. The drinks were great too. The espresso martini was smooth and well made, and I ordered the Turkish Syrah red wine. I loved it. The real star was the kenefe. Crispy on the outside, soft, sweet, and cheesy on the inside. So good. The baklava was also a nice finish. Honestly, everything we ordered was good. I was hassled twice while quietly reviewing some career materials, and after barely 10 minutes, I was told not to come back. The food was disappointing and expensive. I wanted the salmon kebab, but found out it was only made with red and green peppers, no onion or mushroom, so I moved on. I had the Shepherd's Salad with chicken & shrimp kebab added. The salad was dressed with balsamic vinegar, when it should have been lemon juice and olive oil. The veggies were fresh, but the taste was off. So glad I didn't get the feta with it. The shrimp was nicely grilled, but the chicken was not. It was cooked through, but had a spongy, too soft feel to it, and was barely browned. My husband had the Seafood Linguini, which came with four mussels, three shrimp, and a lot of tender squid. There wasn't much meat in the mussels, though the shells were large. One was so tiny, it wasn't worth bothering with. The pasta was al dente, and the sauce was tasty. We got a small basket of OK bread on the table. During our meal, a large group near us had a birthday celebration, and the birthday music was so loud everyone covered their ears. That was fixed fairly quickly, but then some other music was blasted at us, though just for a few minutes. The servers were very nice, but ours had quite a bit of trouble with English. I've been coming to this restaurant since it opened and it is unquestionably my favorite restaurant in this area of Brooklyn. I have taken my friends to dine here on numerous occasions, and every one has loved this place. The food is absolutely excellent and, although I am a strict vegetarian and limit myself to the vegetarian options, my friends have loved the meat and fish dishes. I was here yesterday (January 24th, 2025) for brunch with a friend and he liked the place so much that he inquired into hosting events there. On New Year's Eve, I hosted a party of 5 at this restaurant and they loved their first-time experience so much that they want to do it next New Year's Eve as well. I would be derelict if I didn't mention that I had recommended this restaurant to a local community group for a New Year's Day gathering, and that group of 14 loved it so much that they plan to have additional group lunches/dinners there in the future. In addition, the ambiance there is really nice. The service is excellent (professional, friendly, attentive, and helpful). The manager, Zerrin, and the waiters are exceptional with my New Year's Eve party showering compliments on our waiter that evening (Surob). Obviously, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for an exceptional culinary experience. read more

Great place to have quick lunch or fine dinner. We came here weekdays for an early dinner. Our party was 4 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 kids. Everyone has found some delicious options for their taste. There was a lot of good appetizers and I didn't order entree for myself but others got both appetizers and entrees. They were so delicious. Place is clean and spacious. Staff are so nice. I came to this place for my fathers birthday the food was ok. But at the end we were charged an 18% gratuity for 4 people. No where on their menu said they charge a gratuity with any party amount. This is illegal to do also a 3% charge if you use credit card that was stated on the bill but when you get your receipt it will show that it's charged for debit cards as well. Another false information that was given. When I asked why they couldn't explain and blamed it on the waitress who was really helpful and nice but didn't know the answers to why either. Also if you order tea and need honey they charge you $2 for honey with your tea that was crazy to me because they don't even show that on the menu either. This is the first and last time I will come here. A Bill that was suppose to be only $125 ended up being $165. Last thing as well train your people to know better on how to explain these inconsistencies or better yet just be honest with your business. The Pros: We really liked the eggplant spreads. The waitress was very nice, and the service was decent. The decor is pleasant. Cons: But prices are really something for what we got: $9 for a "homemade strawberry lemonade" plus $3 for the strawberry (which was just added flavor, not even real fruit). So $12 for a glass of a drink which was basically a cheap powdered kool-aid definitely not fresh-squeezed, and only homemade if someone poured the flavor powder in a glass with water in their home. Food and service is not too notch, but that wasn't our issue. They added 18% tip for two people, that's illegal. I almost always pay that amount of tip or higher, but I find it quite dishonest when I am forced to do it. Additionally, they add the tax after the tip. Stay away from this place. There is also 3% extra charge for cards. We paid $93 for a not so OK meal including no alcohol. read more

About six months ago I gave this place an excellent review for food and service. Unfortunately, I am now Editing that review because I am so disappointed and disgusted with this place. I went to ACherry with my best friend and her 6-year old son on July 16, 2022 And everything from food to Service to the establishment itself was awful and horrific. So, we came in and ordered and as we were waiting for our food another waiter came up to give us menus. This was after we were already sitting there for probably good 15 minutes. This was already a sign of bad service and chaos. We ordered buffalo wings, calf's liver, fried calamari, mix of cold appetizers, and mixed grill. My friend also ordered lentil soup for her son. First, they brought out what was supposed to be buffalo wings but by the smell I knew right away something was wrong. When I looked at it I realized what was wrong - it was barbecue chicken not buffalo wings. I figured I'd try perhaps they're good. NO! NO! They were disgusting. Frozen microwaved barbecue chicken pieces I used to get in the frozen section of the local supermarket when I was 15. I called the guy waiter over and asked why would they bring that nasty chicken instead of buffalo wings? He started insulting my intelligence with some excuse that this was ACherry special sauce and I asked him to take his special sauce back to the bad chef and remove from the bill. Next they brought fried calamari. Had to spit those into the napkin they were rubbery, tasteless, and very nasty. At that point the waiter who gave us the menu after we already ordered came up to ask if all is good. I responded it's NOT GOOD AT ALL and to please take the fried calamari to the same place they took frozen microwaved buffalo, I mean nasty barbecue wings and remove from bill. The cold appetizers were ok, nothing great. However, I will give credit where it's due because the mixed grill was simply superb! Nevertheless, the ambiance was awful, the music was too loud, and the service was horrible. I asked one of the bus boys to make the music lower after all this wasn't a nightclub but he simply ignored me. The young man and woman with long dark glowing hair (very unsanitary) were extremely lazy. They didn't even come up to ask if we need anything. By the time we were ready to order desert, these two were standing and chit-chatting for probably good 10 minutes. I had to jump up and down and wave my hands for the lazy chick waitress to come up so we can order Kunefe, which was another big error on our part. It was simply atrocious! It was swimming in syrup and the cheese wasn't the right one! I realized that they probably changed their chef from 6 months ago and this one has absolutely no talent when it comes to traditional deserts. My Turkish friend was horrified by what they called Kunefe! However, it doesn't end there! Their bathrooms were disgusting! No toilet paper, no paper towels! Floor was seeped with a strong smell of urine. I had to tell them to put toilet paper in. Toilets were filthy. Nobody bothered cleaning. A bunch of lazy, talentless people are working what used to be a great place into the ground. The long hair on the waitress was disturbing to say the least, I kept expecting to dish it out of my plate. The audacity of these people to sneak in a 20% tip into your bill. And my friend didn't notice and gave them another 20% tip. This is a bunch of lazy crooks and thieves. This place needs to be boycotted and shut down! The reason for the loss of a star on an otherwise five-star review is that, as soon as you sit down, the waitress asks the standard "would you like water?" I said yes, only to realize that she was holding a bottle of Poland Spring that is immediately uncapped. I normally drink tap water but by the time she uncapped the bottled water, it was too late. On the menu, the bottle is $5. On the receipt, it was $6. I wasn't going to argue over the $6 but I find the practice very distasteful. Their specialty is Turkish food. We've been to Turkey as tourists and eaten at local Turkish restaurants here, so we are familiar with the cuisine but not experts. I would say the food is good but not outstanding, with some notable exceptions. These would include the outstanding chicken soup and shepherd's salad. Everyone at our table had meat dishes, so I can't comment on the fish. The desserts were rather disappointing. The place was less than half full. The clientele appeared to be mostly casually dressed Russian families who could afford the rather elevated tabs. This place was not attracting the younger dating crowd, at least that night. No liquor served, but you were welcome to BYO. The wait staff were attentive and eager to please. My main gripe were the prices. Our bill came to $60 a person (which included tax and a 20% tip). After visiting my dad at the cemetary, my mom and I came here to eat. Good meal. HOWEVER, when it was time to pay I gave the waiter my credit card. After a bit of a wait to receive the paper so I can sign it, I was informed that they GAVE my credit card to another customer. With every right I was pissed. Instead of apologizing, maybe saying the meal is on us or even asking how they can help, the owner came out and proceeded to yell at me like it was my fault!
