Near the back half of the store, the walls are all lined with various types of glasses/sunglasses to choose from. Our kiddo has what we call, a zest for life :) , so we needed to get a very durable pair of glasses that would still look fashionable. Parking is free and easy as is access right off the 5 freeway right south of where the 405 and 5 freeways meet off of the Lake Forest Drive exit. You can even make an appointment and depending on what you choose, you can wait and get your child's glasses that same day. What won me over was the huge variety of kids glasses that they have in the store. They have all sizes of glasses from toddlers up to teenagers. My daughter was impressed with the large variety of choices of children's glasses which was a lot more than at her optometrist's office as well as at Lens Crafters. What is also fun is they have an arcade machine with tons of games and a rocking horse for your child to play with while they wait (or it's great for siblings to keep them occupied if only one child needs glasses) All of the employees I have dealt with here are friendly and nice manner with children. Their custom ear loops have been fantastic. My kids are able to do parkour and martial arts and PE without worrying about their glasses coming off. Despite some initial frustrations with the fitting process that required multiple trips, I am happy that A Child's View is willing to proactively address any customer's concerns and frustration. Being someone that has worn glasses in the past, I was initially frustrated and confused as to why getting a pair of glasses to fit correctly for my daughter required so many back and fourths. However, after expressing my frustration, Robert reached out to me to explain that fitting glasses for children is often an iterative process that involves a lot of trial and error and that their expertise lies in their willingness to help kids navigate through this lengthy process, and not in their ability to determine the exact specifications on the front end. Although I'm still not 100% convinced that fitting of glasses for children is much different than adults, I defer to their expertise and is willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, because of their willingness to work with your child. Ultimately, if your child needs glasses, A Child's View is a great place to go to try to find the solution for your needs; just be mentally prepared for numerous trips and adjustments. read more

Back in November I had a prescription filled with a new dr because we changed insurance. My daughters eyes were still crossing so they promised to honor the redo after 90 days. I struggled to find a dr who could get my daughters eyes to go straight. While I understand it's been 6 months... my daughter has been unable to use the lenses that were filled by a child's view and getting a new appointment has taken at least 6-8 weeks with the pandemic. The second dr script I took in they changed their story and would only honor 1 redo. When I decided to get another opinion they wouldn't do a redo at all. After being a loyal customer and buying 5 pairs of glasses and spending 1-2k you would think these people would do a little extra for the kids having a special situation. Life isn't as simple to figure everything out in 90 days. I'm a mom of 3 toddlers, juggling a birth injury, selling a house, and my kids. My son got his glasses here when he had just turned 2. He has a very extreme prescription of -18 and -19. His pediatric ophthalmologist was extremely impressed with the glasses A Child View's lab made for him. The glasses that I bought him at 2 he still wears at 4.5 and they have held up the entire time. I was originally pained by the price for the glasses, but considering they have lasted 2.5 years, and over that time we have gone in every six or so weeks to get them adjusted, I now know the price was a total bargain. I love this place so much that despite moving to North County San Diego, I still drive the 45 minutes there every six or so weeks to get my son's glasses adjusted. This place was fantastic when it came to picking out my 4 year old's glasses. Julie was patient and helped pick frames that complimented my son's face. We got there right when it opened and were out within 25 minutes. She checked our insurance coverage, explained pricing clearly, and helped us feel comfortable with the purchase. Since these glasses were for my son, I was super concerned that they would break quickly and we would be responsible for the full cost of a replacement but within the first year they offer low-cost replacement parts and fixes. My two younger children enjoyed playing with the toys and the staff was courteous to our entire family. My son's glasses were ready for pick up within 10 days and we had an equally great experience picking them up and getting them fitted. My son is super excited for his new glasses and I give A Child's View a lot of the credit for that. read more

I don't do many reviews, but after todays visit I felt I really needed to say something about how awesome this business is. From the first time we went in, they make your child feel important and involved in the process of getting their glasses (in my kid's case their very first pair). They know how to talk to kids and explain how to take care of this new item that they have to wear all the time. Their cusotmer service is absolutly top notch, and their prices are fair. They make repairs very easy and affordable (4 year olds aren't very easy on these things). An example of their top notch service is that when we ordered the glasses our son wanted there was a bit of a hiccup getting them in a reasonable amount of time, so they took the same frames in a different color and set him up with these frames until the correct frames arrived from out of the country. Can't reccomend them enough, and we won't be going anywhere else. read more
