Our chimney started having a leak with all the storms over winter. A Cozy Chimney came out and took all the measurements for a new cap and wind block. I needed a dryer vent on the top of my roof cleaned and I called five other places who said that they couldn't help me out because our building (three stories) was too high. A rep from A Cozy Chimney showed up on time to clean and inspect my fireplace and chimney. He was unable to open one of the glass doors, he did try WD40 to no avail. He shined a flashlight up into the chimney and said it was clean. That was the extent of the inspection. I asked about checking the dryer duct, there are no appliances in the laundry area. He bent down stuck his hand in the dryer duct and yes it was full. He said it would be $279.00 to have the dryer duct cleaned. Whaaat? That is their minimum service fee. Um...No...thank you. So for 10 minutes of his time, drive over the bridge and did nothing, he charged me $69.00. I am feeling very frustrated by the service industry. We are being gauged left and right. Best of luck to anyone who hires this company. read more

Super great rates! Didnt overcharge is like other companies wanted to. He realized when he came out that we didn't actually need a sweep (we hadn't used the fireplace but weren't sure what it looked like since moving in) and only charged us $69 for the inspection! Another company wanted $350 just for an inspection and another $350 for the sweep AND would have charged $100 if we cancelled within 48 hours. This company doesn't mess with you like that.
