I live across the alley from this business. customers regularly cross the alley to have their dogs relieve themselves against our fence. their owners do not pick up the poop when their animals finish. we use roundup to kill the grass by the fence on a random as needed basis to eliminate mowing there. This would put animals at risk if they used our property. The owners of the business need to put an airing station on their own property. At present access is blocked to the business's own property for the dogs to use. Please be kind. We have grapes and other things growing on our fence and its area. I was telling Katie how knotted my pups tail was and that the salon groomer I was taking her to for some reason could not get those knots out, well, she got those knots out and so much more! Groomer Katie is an excellent dog groomer who also lifts my spirits! I take my Maltioo to A Cut Above about every 3 months. My sweetie dog is getting older, and it's difficult to watch her decline. The last 2 times I brought her in to be groomed, I've arrived feeling down, and left smiling. Katie is gentle with my dog, she listens to my requests. She does a BEAUTIFUL job transforming my dog from shaggy to stunning! I LOVE the patriotic bows that she put on her ears and around her neck last Tuesday. The place is clean, and it smells great. Thanks to Katie's face shaving technique, her vision has improved. I brought my dog home and she ran around the house like crazy, that hasn't happened in months. Excellent with dogs. Not as good with us lowly humans. I have been scolded by a number of groomers as I learned how things work in their business. It's funny, most other services I always thought of as serving ME in exchange for my payment. I am a polite person and call to change if I cannot make appointments. I know not everyone does this these days...So I missed my 1:00 appointment and went in at 3:00 with my dog. Tail between MY legs, of course, and sincerely sorry fo my mistake. I thought maybe they could just do my girl's ears and nails and we could make another appointment. A guy was at the desk - maybe one of Katie or Kathy's adult kids? The dogs they were finishing were beautiful. But I was not greeted by any of the three humans. No eye contact, no hello or smallish smile. Just a reprimand that I missed my appointment and will have to pay a fee before they will take my dog again, having lost $800 last month to no-shows. Then she looked my dog up and saw that this is not something I have done for the past several Years of coming here. Still no offer of forgiveness. Like the other low review, it was not a conversation, but a scolding. My dog will miss their good way with her, but I will not be able to pay punishment fees for a service provider. Guess I'll check out the reviews for countless other groomers in the area who are kind not only to pet, but their owners, too. read more

They are wonderful, compassionate (my dog's favorite place isn't the groomer, sadly, but they go out of their way to make him comfortable), and clearly love animals. NEVER GO HERE!!!! I first went here because I was looking for a place close to home and it had great reviews even though there were only 3. When I took my Wheaten Terrier here for his first visit we had not kept up with brushing him so I was not too shocked when they gave him a short cut. However I was not happy they completely cut off his beard. I decided to give them another try, but made sure to brush him before hand so he wouldn't get shaved again. When I dropped him off I specifically said DO NOT cut off his beard, if you think it's too matted don't worry he lets me brush it. That afternoon they had me pay prior to bringing him out so I had no idea what he looked like. I could not believe it, they completely cut off his beard again. Angry I said "You shaved his beard! I specifically asked you not too!" The groomer responded with "Well I had to, it was full of food and plastic". This is complete nonsense! Our wheaten gets only dry food and a ram horn. He is never given plastic toys, rawhides, or anything else that would get stuck in his beard. I replied again to her that I said not to do this because he lets us brush it. She then mumbled something under her breath about it being the only option. I left the shop very angry with how they handled the situation and disappointed that my beautiful Wheaten Terrier is again without a beard! I also can't believe they did not offer any kind of a discount given their complete disregard for what I asked them to do. As I sat in my car texting my husband about the situation, I could hear the women yelling at the dogs in a harsh voice to "shut up!" Thinking back on when I dropped my dog off, he totally put I the breaks and had to be dragged to the back, which he's never done at any other place. After hearing how they yelled at the dogs loud enough for me to hear outside, I am concerned they mistreated my dog. I will NEVER again bring my dog here. DO NOT TRUST THESE 2 WOMEN!!!! read more

Came in just to ask how much they charge for nail clipping, the lady (older, blonde) immediately asked what dog is it && kept asking before I could even properly answer, so I just said I don't have an appointment, again before I could get another word in just goes, we can't take you, I was like oh okay, once again trying to ask my initial question, she goes yep sorry we can't take you without an appointment, we only go by appointments, when I walked in she was doing absolutely nothing but be on her phone, won't ever come here. read more

Place is trashy. Lousy service, and had my dog shaking once I picked him up. Bad trim and really don't think they care about their craft. Our dogs are not just pets but family. Would never go back. So happy with this groomer. I was in desperate need of some nail trimming for my pup and no one was open late on a Sunday. Read good reviews here and gave it a shot. My immediate reaction was this place was clean and well kept. The whole time the staff was professional and kind. The groomer kept soothing my nervous dog while quickly cutting his nails.
