Lovely people, excellent service, less expensive than other hoity-toi groomers in Oak Park. I've been going there with my dog Poco for over eight years and have had nothing but a good experience. Be forewarned--they are rightly POPULAR now, so don't think you can get in for a grooming by trying to schedule a week in advance. I typically book the next two upcoming appointments rather than just one so that I'm absolutely sure that the near future, at least, is covered! I have been on a search for a new groomer. At my regular groomer the drop off time was 7-8am for all pets and then they sit and wait their turn. I wanted to find someone who set apt time and someone who doesn't have a lot of idle wait time for pets. We tried another groomer a few months back which was very dramatic and upsetting, so I was very nervous for this test drive with Bubbles. However I decided to take a chance with Bubbles & Brushes. I brought my puppy in for full works. He is a 14lb Shichon (it is cross between Bichon Frisé and Shih Tzu). I love how my baby looks. He is nice and fluffy and face is perfect. When you drop off your pets you can see their facility, it's an open floor model, they are not hiding anything. I love that they set a time for you and then you come back as soon as he's done. My pup seemed less stressed after this groom when we got home and was playful right away. They were even able to do a mohawk!!! I am definitely coming back, I believe we have found our new groomer!!! I took our corgi here for a nail trim after receiving a recommendation from a friend and have been going back since. They are very gentle with our pets and are always clean and friendly. I have been looking for a good groomer for my small Yorkie. She have been going to a groomer since she was a puppy. The groomer she was going to retired and closed up her shop. I have been calling this place several time and the phone rings and rings. The answering service picks up to leave a message. I had left several messages to call me back and with no luck for a return call. A good professional place usually return calls no matter how busy they are. I took my Shih Tzu here for a very overdue groom. She looks great. It took exactly 2 hours. The shop is small, clean, simple. All of the dogs were calm and relaxed. My dog was stress free when she left. It seems to be a family run business. Both on the phone and in person they were pleasant, accommodating, and professional. After years of scheduling grooming appointments 8 weeks in advance, buying overcharged​ to pay for renovations, and having my dog's​ leg cut by a groomer who wasn't "overly concerned"...I am delighted to have found Bubbles and Brushes in Oak Park. You can call and get an appointment​ within a few days, it's small and intimate so they don't overbook and leave your pet in a kennel waiting to be staged, the staff is highly skilled, personable and friendly. Great job making our German Shepherd take his bath! Our rescue 11 month old is not with his quirky traits. He was not trained properly as a pup and has issues. I called the day before his grooming and asked for a time when no other dogs were around because this dog barks like crazy at other dogs(an issue we are working on). Very angry as they shaved my Malamutes's coat instead of clipping it, as I explicitly told them and showed a photo of what I wanted. They ruined my dog's coat by removing her guard coat, which protects her from weather and bugs, etc. They should not be allowed to touch a double-coated dog, such as a Malamute or a Siberian Husky. I'm including before and after pictures as evidence of the mess. Keep your animals out of here! read more

Great people. My dog is a hot mess about getting groomed and they are so gentle with her.

We have a dog that has severe anxiety and going to the groomer can be challenging for all involved. I was at my wit's end trying to find a groomer that could manage her. After seeing the reviews on yelp, I called and asked if they would take my difficult dog. Bubbles and Brushes suggested bringing Chelsea in at day's end when it would be quiet in the shop. Great idea. She was calm and relaxed the whole time. I'm so relieved that we finally found a place that can groom her beautifully and keep her calm. Also, the prices are very reasonable. read more

I took my wolfhound mix rescue to another groomer who wanted immediately to shave him for some matting. They finally -reluctantly--said they'd try to brush him out, but it was clear they weren't happy about it. I told them never mind, and went to Bubbles and Brushes. COMPLETELY different experience! The owners clearly love dogs, and they greeted him and me so warmly. I told them my dog seemed to have sensitive skin and didn't like being brushed, and he had a few spots that were matted. I asked them if they'd be willing to try to brush him out and not shave him. They did a magnificent job of just brushing him out, then trimming him, and my dog looks great. More than that, he came out calm and happy. I will go back again regularly, with pleasure. I really can't say enough about this place. This place JUST opened (on December 28, 2017) and we couldn't be happier! The couple who owns the shop is super, super nice. We did a full groom and a deshedding treatment on our tri-color welsh corgi. Total cost- $45. The full groom includes a wash, dry, trimming of the fur fluff (including his feet), nail trim, ear cleaning. The full groom is $35 and the deshedding was an extra $10 (which they did "on the house" this time because he really needed it but they didn't ask ahead of time. Wow. what a difference that treatment made). Our corgi dog has NEVER been softer. He had literal chunks of hair coming out of his legs (despite LOTS of brushing) before we went. He looks show dog worthy (if only he was that well trained...). The place is brand new, on Harrison street in the arts district of Oak Park and if they keep up their good work- will be here for a long time. They don't have a webpage yet but they do have a FB page people can check out. Hope you get the chance to check them out. Currently, as of this date, they are walk in friendly because they have only been open a few weeks and are building their client list. We called ahead of time to make sure they weren't busy. They have three dogs of their own, who are in the shop but are very friendly. We are so, so glad that a groomer has come to OP. Our 100 year old pipes can't handle this volume of fur...... read more

We can't say enough wonderful things for this groom shop. It's truly a hidden gem. These people are patient and animals clearly love them. We took our dog who was kicked out of pets mart and yuppy puppy because her anxiety was over the roof and she would bite the dryers . It appears to be that at bubbles and brushes the environment is so peaceful that the animals are clearly comfortable staying here. We felt safe leaving our troubled dog. She wasn't even a bit anxious when we dropped her off, this is a miracle. When we picked her up she didn't even look like my dog. If you're looking for a more slow paced peaceful environment and a place that won't agitate your dog, come here. The shop is cute and parking is always available right in front. Gus was great with our large pup, Vita, who absolutely hates getting her nails trimmed. We've tried desensitizing her for months when it comes to her nails - but she's still very scared of nail trims and filing. He let us come in at the end of the day when no other dogs were around so it would be less stressful for her and for others. He was wonderful - quick and safe. Love this place! Made an appointment here when I could not get in at our normal groomer (Yuppie Puppy) for THREE weeks. Not only did we get an appointment same week, they did a great job on our toy goldendoodle. I've been looking for a groomer in Oak Park so when this place popped up I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a new groomer for my dog. And let me tell you that it was a great decision. I dropped my dog off at 8 a.m. and she was done before 9 a.m. She got the partial grooming with her nails clipped. This is a wonderful groomer in Oak Park. Just opened less than a year ago, it's a clean open facility run by the nicest people. They truly put the animals first and they do a beautiful job! After we picked up our girl we discovered we had left something on the counter, and when we returned to get it she RAN back in wanting to go back in to the grooming area!!!!!! That is truly a first.
