The Shih Tzu in the picture above is now going on 16. He has doggie dementia, his eye sight is going and he gets so cold during a bath that he poops in the tub. I couldn't put this on my groomer - but he needed to get clipped so bad. Well Megan Siegal saw a post I made on Facebook, dismissed my concerns and set up an appointment. She took care of Diesel the Shih Tzu with such compassion. I literally have no words......: Megan Siegel is one of the best groomers around. She is more than my groomer - she is a friend. If I could give zero stars I would! It was my first time bringing my cat to Megan's shop, they were all extremely nice at the time and I was okay to leave my boy with her, I ask for a light TRIM only around his face/mane and upper chest, a light TRIM on top of his paws and a sanitary TRIM..He was there about an hour when Megan text he was ready to be picked up. When I got there she said he did ok in the dryers but brought him out with a wet tummy and legs, I paid and brought him home and got him dried and brushed out.. OMG when I saw him I was shocked , hurt and angry, she literally botched a simple trim.. he was gapped, uneven and looked horrible, his sanitary trim was a complete shave and nothing trimmed on his back legs just a really bad job. I messaged her because that's the only way to get in touch with her as they do not answer there phone. The complaint and responses below. Also to add to this situation her employee Christina (pet bather) took it upon herself to look me up and then IM me on Facebook messenger as we are not friends nor acquaintances of any kind and harassed me when clearly it was not her place or business to do so as it was between me and the owner Megan who was also the groomer, I felt threatened and had to file a police report.. All this because I launched a valid complaint and was extremely unsatisfied with the service and customer service, this isn't the first complaint of her botched service to others....This is a WARNING to those who may be considering trying this business DO NOT take your precious pet there. read more

We've been customers for over a year. We have 2 Yorkies; the owner is usually their groomer; they know the dogs well and what style we like: clean and trim only and keeping their hair long. On our last appointment, we had Kyle as a groomer; we specifically instructed him to trim the face rear and, for the male dog, clean the stomach hair. We were shocked when we came to pick up the dogs. They literally cut their beautiful hair completely off. We are devastated!! The dogs were hiding under the sofa when we brought them home, this took a mental toll on all of us. I have no words to describe the critical decision they made to cut off the hair, which was NOT what we instructed. It is the dead of winter, and the dogs' hair is completely gone. It will take 6-8 months for the hair to grow. When we complained to the owner, she responded that" it may have been a miscommunication". How can it be a miscommunication when they have known the dogs for over a year and cut the same hairstyle?. The owner should be supervising any groomer who works at Purely Paws. We are extremely and beyond disappointed and do not recommend anyone to use their grooming services. read more

We had a terrible experience when bringing our dog in for a hair cut. The shop is dirty and smells bad. I felt apprehensive to even leave him there but wanted to support a local new business. Megan did not do at all what I had asked for. His hair looked uneven,choppy and his tail hair was completely shaved off. He looked nothing like a Yorkie. I was told my 5 lb. dog was difficult to control. I had to bring him to another shop to have his hair redone. I told Megan that I would like a discount or even to have her pay the bill from the other shop. Terrible customer service. If there was an option for 0 stars this is one place that deserves it. read more

Our experience today was terrible. Their environment was smelly and dirty, and the person who took my dog grabbed and yanked her leash as we walked in. I was apprehensive to leave her, but we had received a recommendation and I wanted to honor our appointment. When I got her home I realized the leather seats in my car were spotted and smeared with blood. SIX of her nails had been clipped so short they were bleeding, and she hobbled out of the car, limping to stay off of the one most badly harmed. I contacted my referral immediately to tell them the conditions were not as described, and they assured me they wouldn't send any additional business to Megan. read more

Took my family's dog here, he has an incredibly thick coat for how small of a dog he is. They did a great job on deshedding him and cleaning him. Dog looks 15lbs lighter and they did a good job with his nails. I would use them again. read more

I took my dog there for the first time today. I mainly wanted to get her nails cut. I was worried they wouldn't be able to cut them since my dog is so scared and puts up a fight.Not only did she get her nails cut she also had them filed. She was also groomed and looks beautiful! Megan the owner is the best! She clearly loves animals especially dogs. We feel very comfortable leaving both our six pound Yorkie and our 42 pound Standard Poodle with her for her amazing grooming. Left my pup here for the 1st and last time. Found a spot on him that looked to have been recently cut, when I questioned her about it she said it was there "already"which I know it wasn't as my pup sleeps with me and the so called groom/haircut was so un even.Took my pup to the vet to have the cut checked out,and he ended up needing stitches. When I asked her to reimburse me for the vet bill I was called all types of names and was ignored after.. Never again... read more

I was going to Caitlin and she was awesome, but she retired, getting married, moving, etc. Now I'll be going to Megan, first time tomorrow. This place has been terrific. No overcrowding. My dog gets easily stressed and they are able to work with him. The place is open and not stuffy or crowded feeling. I feel bad for Kate H. above and think it was just an off day, that can happen anywhere in any service industry. When my dog groomer retired from grooming here, she said, "Go to Megan, she is the only one I trust for dog grooming. She taught me everything I know." Took my dog here once before I was pretty impressed then, but they've gone way downhill since. First they Shaved my dogs legs but left his face untouched. They had dogs running around the grooming area and a toddler sitting at the desk watching TV on the computer. Not organized, do not do a good job grooming. I could probably do better, and that says a lot. I would not recommend, and will never come again. read more

Megan is great. She has been grooming my dog for years. I consistently receive compliments on his cut. She is a true dog lover. My dog actually enjoys seeing her even though he knows he is getting a bath! I would never go anywhere else. read more

I brought my dog to this place and will NEVER do it again! I drove in from the city because this place was recommended to me by a friend. I told the groomer Megan to leave her fluffiness. Well when i went to pick my dog up she didn't even look like herself! I will never take her there again and I would never recommend anyone to this chop house! I am staying in the city!
