Well I was feeling pretty crappy so my friend suggested I have a colonics treatment. I found this place on Groupon while in So. Cal. and went in to see Coco. The treatment was what is referred to as an "open system" style. Coco was very professional and made me feel very comfortable. Afterwards I felt clean as a whistle and awesome! This place is small, but clean and affordable for those who need that quick fix on a budget. My esthetician did a great job on my facial. I chose the European facial with the Hydradermabrasion add-on. She answered all my questions and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. The facial included a scalp, shoulder, and upper arm massage while the mask was setting (15-20 mins). It was nice that she spent a lot of time on extractions. I feel like a lot of spas speed though this part. I am not sure if it is because of the Hydradermabrasion add-on, but I was hoping my face would be steamed before extractions. Very unprofessional. I don't typically leave reviews, but I had my massage a month ago, and it still annoys me when I think about it. The massage itself was fine, nothing to write home about. However, the first 10 minutes ruined the entire experience. I was walked in on, not once, but twice within seconds by two different massage therapists who failed to knock to see if I was ready before opening the door to the room. I was not ready, and basically flashing two complete strangers. Then, 5 minutes into the massage, the therapist says she has to take a call. This was fine, as she said there was a family emergency going on. However, I was shocked when she didn't leave the room for the call. She continued to massage me with one hand while on the phone. I originally came to A+ Day Spa to get my very first colonic through a Groupon deal ($40). Since then, I've come back twice, for a total of 3 colonic sessions. Lala has been performing my colonic therapies. From the start, she was friendly and casual- this made me feel most comfortable - especially when she was putting in the tube (which takes less than 10 seconds to do). During the sessions, she talked me through what to do during the therapy and told me what I may feel, massaged my tummy, and gave me feedback and suggestions on how to be healthier. I found all of these things to be very helpful. She suggested the time frame in which I should return, based on the results of the cleanse. I purchased 2 sessions at a time, for a discount rate ($50 each). A single session is usually $70. read more

Great value! I bought a Groupon for 5 IPL treatments even though there were some very negative yelps about this place. With the extra 15 or 20% off Groupon offered, I paid $127! For 5! So far I've had 3 legit treatments with Coco. She does a really great job and I can already see results. This spa isn't fancy but prices are great even w/o Groupons. You can get both legs waxed for $50. They have all manner of services and appointments are well maintained. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. Two thumbs way up. Came here because I found a great deal on Groupon for IPL treatments and they are open on the weekends (which is a major plus for me). You can book appointment by calling it texting them. I decided to text them on a Sunday and luckily for me they had a last minute appointment. When I got there they had me fill out some paperwork. As I read the documents i noticed that it said colonic. I let the front desk lady know I was there for IPL not a colonic. She realized that she actually booked my appointment for a colonic when I specifically told them it was for IPL when I was booking my appointment through text. They were extremely apologetic and asked if I can wait about an hour. I wasn't too happy since I had to ask my sitter to stay with my kids a little longer. But I can say I'm so glad I stayed and waited! Coco is amazing and so knowledgeable. I'm getting IPL for the dark spots on my face. I have this one dark spot on my left upper cheeks that I wanted to lighten. That is the reason why I looked into IPL. After the 1st treatment it has lightened about 50% and I'm so happy with the results. I've had about 3 treatments so far and seen a huge difference. read more

This is my first bad review. I had a Groupon and my first visit was ok. I then purchased a three pack follow up. In my second visit LC was 15 minutes late. Then left me in the colonic room alone without any guidance or instructions. I had to say hello loudly in the hall way to see where she went. There was trash on the floor and then she had the gall to tell me that my hour session was reduced to 40 minutes without explanation or compensation. Basically she was cutting my session short so she could be on time for her next appointment. That totally sucks! After my session she is tries to clean up the floors and then tries to give me water or vitamins. So gross.! I am going to report this place to the Costa Mesa health and safety department. So do not buy a package unless you want to ripped off. And do not accept anything from her hands unless you see her wash her hands before hand. In response to the owners response: the attendant should let the client know what to do while she leaves the room. The attendant also should communicate to the buyer that the package of three for $150 is for 40 minute sessions. Lastly I personally would prefer to give himself water and the probiotics at the end of the session. read more

I bought my mom a gift through groupon and it was not happy with the service nor the cleanliness. It took them more than a week for them to call back to make an appointment. When we got there, they did not have her name on the list. Secondly the person who was suppose to perform the procedure was not in due to illness and did not call her to ask if she wanted to reschedule, instead they brought someone else in who did not give her any information on what to expect nor what they were going to do (mind you it was her 1st time getting a colonic cleanse) it was not clean and the lady left her in the room for 1/2hr without checking on her. It was very disorganized and boxes in the room just left out and dirty towels showing on the counter in the room. The customer service was poor and will not be returning after this experience. when I tried to use the groupon, they were having problems uploading and using my gift card. WORST spa in OC. Coco, alleged RN, was rude, rushed, flustered and reprimanded me for being late -- which I was NOT. When I arrived ON TIME, I suggested to nice receptionist to complete new client paperwork after my service. Yet, she insisted I compete it beforehand; it took 3 minutes. Coco BOOKED ANOTHER CLIENT at SAME TIME. I watched Coco walk that client to room for "lypo injection" as I handed back my paperwork to receptionist -- who asked if I needed to use restroom before my facial. At that time, I never saw other client leave spa yet. Client clearly left as I was in restroom. So I said, "only if Coco's not running late." Receptionist replied ,"It's fine; use restroom" -- which took me 2 minutes. Upon which, Coco did not introduce herself. Instead she RUDELY pointed me to room and said, "Get under covers!" & left room for 3 minutes. When she returned, I asked if she had robe or wanted me fully clothed -- which would be odd for facial. She snapped back, "No robe. You were late, so your 45 minute facial will be 30 mins!" I reminded her of aforementioned -- especially the fact she allowed another client BEFORE my appt! She said her receptionist was "STUPID" when I told her aforementioned. Told her it was rude to degrade her own cohort who was trying to keep me occupied as Coco accepted another client. Reminded Coco I took MY time out of MY day for my facial; I was NOT late and did NOT want a flustered rude, rushed alleged RN giving me a dermaplane facial. Called & spoke to Vance, owner, who had ZERO EMPATHY. He refused to apologize for Coco's RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL behavior. (He does not work on-site and is clueless on his own services he offers.) He believed Coco's LIE that I was late & naively said she would have had to take extra time to "numb me" for my facial -- which is nonsensical. LOL! Suggested he read his own on-line description of services (no numbing for facial) to see what his 1-person-staff-esthetician's/alleged RN actually does. He also said she accepted another patient before me; since, it was an injection. NOTE: While I waited on Coco, receptionist & I chatted away. If Coco was "waiting" on me, why did she not come out to fetch me while I was waiting on HER?! Regardless of alleged short amount of time that other client's "lypo injection" took, it still took time away from MY time I scheduled for facial. It takes time for client to undress -- injector/RN typically leaves room for that; RN does injection; RN leaves room while client dresses; RN removes sheets (hopefully) and cleans up room (hopefully). In my case, that 10+ minutes made RN COCO RUN LATE! Do NOT blame me for you squeezing in another client! Entire debacle was exacerbated by fact Vance neither refused to apologize nor diffused situation nor offered anything other than abrasive dismissive attitude. When I told him I contacted him to give him opportunity to apologize vs post negative review, he did not care, hence this negative review. It appears A PLUS DAY SPA offer Groupon deals to create factory-like assembly line of clients. When they run late due to them squeezing in clients to earn more money, their customer service and facial, etc services are below par. And owner scores ZERO in business etiquette.
